Work Text:
In the corner of the pizza place map, Taph had been making his comfortable nest, placing many landmines and trip wires. His skill and knowledge of how to destroy simple building and forests shows and proves very efficient.
He’s team mates work around his traps, it’s a whole domino system. In perfect correlation.
He admires the so called leader of the group since he has more experience with fighting. Guest is a tough guy, with a punch so hard that it stuns the killers easily. It was scary at first but Taph came to learn that he’s not just some hardhead with harsh expectations.
Yet a quiet man, with the most beautiful smile. It holds warmth and hope for everyone near by. It one time cured Taph of his sad feelings, when Guest rubbed his back with pure sympathetic warmth… adding to the strong smile that followed. Taph was complete and utter captivated by him.
God these feelings, his heart pounds every time he thinks of the muscle man…
Taph almost trips over his footing while tossing his bomb in the air with flattering thoughts.
“aaAAAAAAH!” Taph snaps out of it peering around the wall hearing Guest make his way over to him, which he locked in by placing the block in its case tossing it out in front of guest so the killer could trip on it, and to his luck!
Guest’s face is always so serious, but upon seeing Taph he noticed the slight softness of his face expressions.
Taph smiles to himself and runs into his nest so Guest can have room to loop.
Most of the traps worked nicely, others the killer had cut down easily. By this time Taph as moved to another area to build his second nest. While working he heard someone come up behind him.
Peaking over it was Shedletsky…Why. Him…?
“Oi Chicken feathers, nice nest. Me and guest got a few hits in. Which in the end really saved my butt when Guest blocked an attack.” He smiles nomming on his pocket chicken. Leaning against the wall observing Taph.
Taph gets annoyed by this, he dislikes Shedletsky from the past doings, forcing him to demolish building that has definitely hurt innocent bystanders.
So…why is he here, Taph can feel this tension rise between the two… Why would guest care to even glance at the man, much less share the field with such a bad aim. How many times has Shedletsky let Guest down, how many time has he messed up only for guest to take the repercussions of his actions.
Taph snaps one of his stakes out of anger. He huffs tossing them to the side…
Shedletsky cackles. “What’s got you so upset? Huh, is it because you can’t fight with us? Always in the background like the good annihilating dog you are.” Now that was far… Taph turns to him and stomps his foot out of anger.
They both started to get on one another’s bad side after they realized that Guest was both of their crush…
Quickly, they both snap their head to the side where they heard Guest charge, but he seemed to have gotten caught. He grunts loudly, clenching his teeth harshly.
Shed runs off to try and save him, extra time to get away.
Taph runs out and points to his nest quickly!
Guest huffs sprinting towards Taph, the killer right behind him. Shedletsky running next to guest soon stops to strike, and thank god he didn’t miss this time. Taph quickly hands guest a medkit he had just in case, yes it was for Guest mainly since he knows others take it for them self’s.
Guest quickly wraps up tossing the kit to the ground in the middle of Taphs nest… the killer strikes the bomb and wires- oh god Guest isn’t done yet! So Taph, with quick thinking, leaps to block the hit. But it never came?
Taph opens his eyes to find Guest had blocked the hit… A moment of solace between the two of them for a moment, it was magical and Taph could have sworn Guest smiled back at him before punching the killer, knocking them back 4 feet away.
Guest put all he had into the punch, and it gave them time for the round to end.
Taph was in a flustered daze, hehe, he will keep that image in his mind forever…
He found himself a blushing mess again, but he doesn’t mind, No one can see his face.
Guest went around the team thank them like he always did, Soon it was Taphs turn and he pats his shoulder gingerly. “Those traps were enough to give me the time to heal, thank you Taph. You really are so effortlessly skilled, it’s great to have someone like you on the team.” And there it was that wide gorgeous smile that sends more butterflies from his stomach.
Walking back, and up the the stairs, he found him. Alone like always, taping his pencil thinking of other passed time ideas for the others… always thinking about others and never himself, guest knows he wasn’t like this in his youth. But time changes a man, and he’s picture proof, this is why he also gets along with Seven too. From a strong belief in others.
“Hay man, thanks for today. Your turret really saved my butt a few times.” Guest sits next to him with a relaxing limp.
Builderman smiles up at Guest, he really is thankful for guest to be on there team, it saves them a lot of trouble.
“No problem, thank you for…saving my life, heh. Really, your reflex is astounding.” Builderman leans back taking this break from thinking too hard.
Guest smiles and nods “Anytime.”, patting Builderman’s shoulder, letting his grip linger. While their eyes meet in such tranquil~
They sit in long comfortable silence.
Guest rests his head on the table watching as Builderman writes ideas for the next big thing to build. It became white noise for him sending him to a small slumber.
The snore makes Builder look up, he huffs gently. He unzips his jacket and carefully places it over the big man, Builderman found himself smiling the whole time, his mouth already getting sore from it…
God he never knew he could find himself smiling like a dork because of another man.
He knows Guest enjoys his presence, he keeps telling him. It send him over the edge sometimes, Builderman would get shocked, then once thinking deeply on it he gets flushed and goes completely silent. He finds himself longing for someone like Guest.
Caressing his blue hair out of his scarred face ever so slightly, he rubs his thumb on his cheek. He loves how Guest is so caring towards others, and never yells when it was another’s fault that would have killed him, he loves the way he’s very admirable, with a strong punctual leadership to back him up.
Builderman pulls back clenching his chest, his heart is racing miles upon miles. Will it ever catch up to Guest? Will guest ever see him more than friends, or pals?
These questions seem so trivial, he knows Guest would prefer to be next to his side more often if he could, if it weren’t for the two others that fight over him.
He knew deep down Guest loved him back.
