Rain can be heard in the air and the smell of wet fresh concrete being soaked like a sponge in the sink, as rain continues to pour people began to open their umbrellas to cover themselves not to get wet, others running around to seek shelter getting away from the rain plus some children who see to be happy to see the rain as they jump in puddles until their parents escorted them back into the house worried their children will catch a cold.
But luckily you’ve brought your umbrella in your hand as you are walking back home done getting grocery errands as you carry the brown classic paper bag in your arms and holding the bottom for support so it doesn’t get randomly rip, hearing the droplets hitting and bounce around from your opened umbrella as you walked getting to your lives with home with Grayson. Ah yes, the Sheriff Enforcer of Piltover Grayson.
You’ve about to be happy to see her once you get home but sadly she had work to do when back then you woke up late in the afternoon and your beloved left a sorry note saying she will be off to work today but that’s ok as long you’ll get to see her home tonight once she’ll get back.
As you walking home in the pouring rain until
“Meow!”
A sudden noise catches your attention making you stop your tracks and turned your head towards now focused alleyway you’ve about to pass by.
Taking a small close step towards the alleyway as your eyes search for the anonymous suspect who made that noise, then suddenly something came out of the alleyway darkness to reveal.
“Meow.”
It was a cat, it revealed themselves to you as they looked at you with its feline eyes into yours “Aw, hello darling what you doing in the pouring air.” You cooed at the kitty as the walk towards you and sat down right in front of your shoes then rest their head against your leg, seems like it’s taking shelter from the rain for your umbrella.
The cat doesn’t seemed have serious injuries or dirty fur but just wet fur on their body plus no collar either on its neck ‘Could be abandoned?’ You thought to yourself as you examined the cat—still sitting to you as you hold the umbrella and errands in your hands. In Piltover some people have pets like cats and dogs it was common to see them whenever walking in the streets or the park but strays animals were rare to see. As you remind on your spot watching the stray cat sitting right in front of you as it make its self comfortable since they found a rooftop on the feline’s head-bad news is you can’t stay in the rain to long since you needed to get back home.
“I’m sorry kitty, I can’t stay in the rain too long.” You apologize the cat as you began to move your feet away from the stray feline which caught the cat’s attention “I needed to get back home.” You said as you began to walked away from the cat going straight home but “Meow.” Another meow came out from the felines mouth caught your attention again, seeing the cat walking beside you. Which surprised you seeing this stray cat attached to you already when you first met it.
On an random day you’ve remembered that you’ve always wanted a pet cat but you didn’t get it because you weren’t sure Grayson will approve adopting a pet so you decided you not to tell her about wanting a pet, but now this is cat who has chosen you.
Does this mean you’ve have awaken the cat distribution system..?
You stopped your tracks same goes for the kitty as you look at them and say “Well looks like we are going home together buddy.” You accepted your fate as you see the cats eyes sparkled hearing your words you decided to take this little one a home to live, so then the cat let out a happy meow as it walk up towards you and rubbed its head against your ankle as their tag wags around like a flag. Letting out a chuckle out of your lips as the two now continue walking focusing back shared married home.

As you reach your destination of your home slowly unlocking the door after you insert the house key then slowly open the door to let the cat inside real quick and then you go next to as you went inside, putting the groceries bag on top of the wooden counter that was next to you and then put the umbrella away.
“Alright little one, I need to hide you so Grayson doesn’t find out I brought a cat here.” You quietly told the cat as you their level scooping them up in your arms and quickly hide them inside your button coat, then support the cats bottom underneath the top of your arm as you about to close the door and lock it.
Until footsteps and a gruff voice appear “Welcome back (Reader).”
‘Shit.’ You thoughtfully curse yourself, you didn’t expect Grayson to be home already.
“Grayson, what a surprise! I didn’t expect you to come home early.” You ease from your tone as your partner walk up towards you “I’m sorry if I scared you my dear, I got off work early today since nothing has happened in Piltover lately.” She says “Well that’s great since you’re home safe and sound.” You mentioned.
As Grayson helps you putting away the errands you’d buy as she walk towards the kitchen area while you sneakily walk away halfway upstairs until—
“Reader where are you going?” Grayson asked which made you started a little as she walk towards you after putting away all the groceries.
“Um, I was just. Going to change me clothes since it was raining outside.” You answered.
It was a pregnant moment of silence for a minute as Grayson broke the silence “(Reader) dear, is there something you’re hiding from me?” Grayson questions you which made you nervous from your wife’s words.
“Uh. No? Why’d you ask.” You replied as you look at her in the eyes since she is right in front of you after approaching, as you try your best not to look suspicious also nervous too.
“Cause you got something hidden in your sleeve.” Grayson stated.
Crap she got you there…
“I don’t know you’re talking about.” You lied as you hug your coat (cat) gently. “Seeing you shift tells me you are hiding something from me.” Grayson noted “Perhaps, drugs maybe.” “What! No, I don’t use that stuff what makes you think that.” You responded back with no hesitation.
“Then what are you hiding then.” Grayson responded as she cross her arms against her chest as she looks at you with her gray eyes.
Another moment paused as you let out a defeated sigh that escaped your lips. Since your at your limit after Grayson bombed you with questions, you carefully unfold your coat to reveal a cat in your arms that you were holding and hiding this whole time..which surprised your beloved that they didn’t expect to be a cat.
A cat.
Grayson let out a smile and a chuckle seeing the cat poking its head out from your coat “So this what you were hiding from me.” She replied as Grayson scratched the felines chin with her finger as the cat in your arms let out a purr, seems like it likes Grayson affection too “The reason why I took it in and hide it from you because I thought you might disapprove getting a cat since this little one chose me on my way home.” You explained your story.
“Dearest I don’t mind having a pet to our home, it would be lovely to have a cat if both of us needed companion when alone.” She says while smiling at you which made your heart flutter until Grayson kiss your forehead until she took a step on of the stairs.
“Let’s get this cat a warm bath since it was cold and rainy outside.”
