Work Text:
He grabbed the gun from his hoodie pocket.
[It was such a shame.]
The night was cold. Cold as His eyes. Cold as his soul.
[No one really expected it.]
His fingertips burned. Different then the burn of His explosions. (He would know. That's what happens when you experience something e v e r y d a y.)
[He was such a bright kid.]
Just one click. Just one and he'd never experience pain again.
[Always lit up the room]
Just one click and he'd never be a burden again. (Mom could finally get a better job. Nobody wanted someone who spawned a Worthless Nobody.)
[There was always a smile on his face.]
It may not be a swan dive like He had said, but the result was the same.
[He knew how to make everyone happy.]
His hand trembled. It was just the cold. (For the first time since he was diagnosed, he was at peace.)
[Everyone was his friend.]
Just put it to the side of his skull like he'd practiced in his head a million times before.
[Despite having no quirk]
Part of him wondered what his classmates would think once he didn't return.
[He lasted far longer than anyone thought.]
The other part knew they wouldn't care.
[If only he wasn't born a Worthless Nobody.]
The barrel of the gun burrowed through his messy hair and on to his temple.
[If only he wasn't a Deku.]
Just one click.
[If only he had been Normal.]
Pull back the hammer with his thumb. (No going back.)
[Then he would've been with us today.]
A chill racked his body. (Just the cold. Just the cold.)
[What a shame.]
He pressed the trigger.
[Oh what a shame.]
