Work Text:
I watch as the wind blows the leaves, one leaf crashing into his face, he giggled like a child. How I wish we could be giggling together. Only if this curse is lifted from my soul we could see our love shining in its full form. But I can't, it's too much to carry, being heavy on my heart as I gaze upon the days passing.
In this wonderful day I gifted you a smile, because in the morning you'll be mourning at my grave. I can't tell you that i'll miss you, because you'll beg me on your knees not to spread my wings and hold me tight, but the heavens will keep on pulling me until I break beneath the pressure. If not now, they will take me painfully from my loved. But they are forcing me, the ones above, the ones we cannot see, but the ones who we can feel. I shed many tears begging them for mercy on my soul, but my fate was firmly resolved.
Then I lost my breath, I sat on the floor, the layers of my white dress now red, my hands trembling from fear, it was supposed to be the best day of our life. Now you see me on the floor in a pool of blood. I wish I could change my fate, I wish I had more faith.
But when I opened my eyes, you held me close, there was no blood, no terror in my eyes. The knife was thrown across the room, and you sobbed through your tears:
"I don't care what the heavens say, I want you to stay, and even if they shake earth, break the sky, take my heart, I will shield you with the last piece of my skin that remains"
And then the heavens stopped.
