Love and Worries

Summary:

Uh just silly little things between Alex and Henry

Notes:

So I’m actually making this a little series, so expect a few more chapters :).
Basically, I’m gonna be jumping to different perspectives from both Henry and Alex. (Until the last chapter, that will be a merged perspective)
Also, this is more based off movie than the book.
(This is my first fanfic btw)

Chapter 1: Love…

Summary:

Henry recounting how he previously felt about love

Chapter Text

I love you was a phrase I never thought I could say.

I love you,
I love you,
I love you.

The world I was living in built up this fear around this phrase. Every time I heard it, it was a constant reminder of the life I could never live. This expression always echoing and reminding me of something I could never act upon.

I spent years reading literature. Wishing that I could tell someone that I loved them, wishing that things were different. But Henry Fox had to keep to himself. He put up walls and barriers just like the world around him. He could never amount to the image the people saw him as, and If he ever let Henry Fox show the vision of the crown could be destroyed.

It felt like a gunshot shattering glass, each and every little crack representing pressures of my image and big hole in the middle, portraying the side the public could never see, the emptiness between the actual me, and Prince Henry, The Heart of Britain.

But someone finally saw me for who I was. He didn’t care that I was a prince, what mattered to him is that he loved me. He was the one person who truly knew Henry Fox. He was slowly repairing each crack in the glass, fixing the hole in my heart. Pushing Henry Fox into the spotlight instead of the shadows.

He taught me how to love after years of thinking I couldn’t. He never let his patience falter, even when I ran away and put up walls again.

He was like a dog with an owner who was never coming back, he always waited for me even if he didn’t know if he would see me again. This made me realize that he really did love me for who I was, Henry Fox.

I love you,
I love you,
I love you.

Thank you for teaching me how to love.
