"So, that would be it for this campaign." said Mark, as you were finishing your weekly DnD livestream.
"Is it just me, or is this getting really boring?" David added.
True, the four of you have been playing this almost every day. Maybe it was time to try something else once.
"Why don't we play... truth or dare?" you suggested.
Truly anything would be better than another campaign of Dungeons and Dragons. The others agreed - after all, what could go wrong? Truth or dare seemed like a very basic game, but it was a classic. And fun, right? Especially when you’re friends with the Elders. You never know what they’ll come up with. And you wouldn’t mind some wild dares.
The game started, and the first few rounds were pretty toned down compared to what you would expect. There was nothing special in the questions asked, or dares given. Then, it was your turn to ask again.
"Mark, truth or dare?"
"I'm not stupid. Truth." said Mark.
"I was hoping for something more interesting, but well. What was the most embarrassing moment of your life?" you asked.
Various events flew through Mark's brain. He was one of the most awkward people on Earth, so he obviously had a huge variety of events to choose from.
“I think it was that time when the school bullies hung me on the school’s fence by my underpants.” he said. All of you remembered that day very well. A gale of laughter went through the Elder’s Rock.
"Since it's my turn now, I have something very special for David. Truth or dare?" said Mark with a smirk on his face. You could tell he had something mischievous up his sleeve.
"I guess I'll go with a dare." said David, without really thinking his decision through. Mark let out a chuckle.
"Well, David, I dare you to reveal your crush to us."
The moment these words left Mark’s mouth, an angry red blush entered David’s cheeks. His entire face looked like a tomato.
"W-well, I- uh..." David stuttered out, obviously embarrassed. And Mark putting pressure on him definitely wasn't helping.
"You can't tell us you don't have a crush, everyone knows that you do." he said, creating even bigger tension.
"What if I don't tell you?" asked David, trying everything to avoid his dare.
"Then I will tell everyone in this room your crush. How does that sound?" said Mark, clearly proud of himself. He just created a situation from which David could not possibly run away.
"Come on David, it can't be that bad. You can trust us." said Y/N, making David even more anxious.
"Alright... I guess I have no choice." started David. He knew he couldn't escape that dare. He was still scared to reveal the person who he had a long-time crush on.
"My crush is... You, Y/N" he finished, blushing like crazy "I’ll understand if you won't want to hang out with me ever again." he quickly added.
The others weren’t too surprised. Except for Y/N. She was very confused about this whole situation, but also happy. She had a crush on David for some time now. She just couldn’t find the right moment to confess. But now, now the perfect opportunity stood right in front of her.
"I like you too, actually..." she said without hesitation.
"W-wait, really?" asked David
"Yeah, you dork! Now come here." Said Y/N, as she leaned in to kiss David.
They were soon interrupted by Barry and Mark.
"Get a room, you two!" said Mark, and David giggled.
"How about we go to my place?" suggested David.
The two lovebirds quickly left, leaving their friends alone. They spent the evening watching movies and cuddling on the couch. And they lived happily ever after. Good ending: achieved.
