Work Text:
We would lie on the floor
Looking at the ceiling
I see you in every reflection
The wind whispers your name
But you're not around
I try to find you in every person
A glimpse of your personality,
your hair, your eyes, your voice
You’ve slipped out of my hands
Unto a different chapter of the book
I carry my life long
Tender singing lullabies
Made from pieces of your stories
I sing quietly to let you sleep
So ill see you in my dreams
Youre sitting at the beach
Because thats where you love to go
Ive never gone with you
Even though we planned
To do so much more
funny how that all just ended
Walking by feels so weird
no longer a greeting or a hug
But you get used to it
Things we did slowly disappear from my life
Sometimes it feels like you didn't exist at all
You were just a memory
Soon you’ll be gone
Because with time, your life drifts away from mine
