Chapter Text

Mikasa woke up in the woods, the soft sounds of birds and rustling leaves filling her ears. She rises, observing the unfamiliar terrain. A rustling sound from a nearby bush catches Mikasa’s attention. A small, purple light emits from its direction, unveiling an unusual, slimy, creature.

Without much time to process, Mikasa reaches down to her waistband, as she would while fighting a titan. To her surprise, she had no equipment on her. As the creature stalks closer, Mikasa fails to think of something to do. The creatures’ eyes are locked onto Mikasa, causing a chill to run down her spine. Is this an Abnormal? Mikasa thought, trying to wrap her head around what was in-front of her.

When the creature is only a few yards away, another figure swoops in from the trees. The figure, a girl, with ginger-brown bob, runs to the scene with a hammer and nails in-hand. The girl comes in close contact with the strange creature as she launches a few nails into the creature’s back, using the hammer. Swiftly, the girl moves out of range, and the creature’s body vanishes out of thin air. The girl glances over at Mikasa before speaking.

“Hey, you alright?” The girl asks, putting a hand on her hip as she leans her bodyweight to one side. “How’d ya’ even get out here?” She asks again, glaring Mikasa down. Mikasa takes a moment to regain herself before speaking.

“I didn’t come here on purpose, where am I?” Mikasa replies, glaring back at the girl. The girl scoffs slightly at the new-comers audacity, rolling her eyes.

“You have amnesia or something? Or are you just really stupid?” The girl asks, stepping towards Mikasa with an aura of superiority.

“I told you, I don’t know how I got here. I don’t have time for games.” Mikasa says, with a cold tone. She steps forward and closes in the gap between the two.

“Oh, someone’s all feisty. What’s the matter sweetheart? ” The girl snapped back, her voice filled with mock care and condescension. Mikasa scoffs, and turns around towards the trees.

“Nothing’s the matter. Stop worrying about me and worry about your stupid haircut.” Mikasa spits back, as the girl's mouth hangs agape. The girl grabs the back of Mikasa’s jacket, pulling her to the ground.

“Who the hell do you think you are talking to me like that? You’re really pissing me off,” The girl hisses, leaning down so her face is in Mikasas. Throughout all the girl’s anger, she observes the mysterious girl. Her clothes were dirty and worn-out, not to mention that rag of a scarf.

“There’s no point in me telling you my name. We’re parting ways now.” As Mikasa begins to rise from the dirt ground, the girl swiftly pulls at Mikasa’s arm.

“Where the hell do you think you and that ragged ass scarf are going?” The girl growls, teeth gritting at the audacity of Mikasa.

Mikasa, without a thought, launches her fist towards the girl, easily striking her down. The girl falls to the ground with an oomph, rage bubbling inside her.

“You bitch!” She yells out, standing up and throwing a punch as Mikasa. Mikasa pulls away, returning to a closed stance, prepared to throw another punch. The girl picks up her hammer from the ground, and swings at Mikasa. The weight of her hammer is uneven, as she is attacking at an unusual position. The weight launches her forward, and the girl falls onto her face. An unusual object falls out of the girl’s pocket.

“What…is that?” The look on Mikasa’s face is filled with curiosity.

“Wow, you’re really fucking stupid aren’t you?” The girl spits out, laughing mockingly. The girl picks up the rectangle from the ground, waving it in Mikasa’s face. “This is a phone~ You get that? A Phhhoooonnnneee. ” The girl drawls out, laughing under her breath at Mikasa’s confused expression.

“I’m not stupid, and I’m not gonna deal with your bullshit any longer.” Mikasa glares at the girl once again. “Now tell me, where am I?”

“Oh, now I’ve gotta be your little tour-guide? Nice to meet you, Nobara Kugisaki at your service.” She arrogantly teases. “We’re currently in a fffoorest. In Tokyo Japannnn. Does that help you?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Don’t fool me, stop making up nonsense.” Mikasa grunts.

“Hah, what d’ya mean nonsense? Just telling you the truth.” Nobara says with a grin. “Where the hell are you from, Disneyland?”

“No… I am Mikasa Ackerman, from Shiganshina District. I am a soldier. Don’t be so quick to judge, where are your manners?” Mikasa says, her voice filled with a sense of formality. Nobara laughs loudly at Mikasa’s words, eyes tearing up from laughter. After a few minutes of Nobara’s mocking laughs, she takes a breath.

“Shiganshina District? What the hell is that? Are you pranking me? Is this a video? Where are the cameras because you can’t be real!” Nobara mocks further, looking at Mikasa with disbelief and mild annoyance.

“Are you seriously mocking a member of the Survey Corps? You’re that oblivious to the attack on humanity that occurred five years ago? What a shame. Many people lost their lives that day, and you chose to mock the fallen and their lives.” Mikasa spits out, her voice beginning to fill with rage and anguish. Nobara’s initial look of mockery changes to one of confusion.

“Attack? What attack? No attack happened in 2013…” Nobara says, her voice losing its anger from earlier.

“Just what the hell are you saying? We had lost a third of the population back in 845, I experienced it with my own eyes. Are you sick in the head?” Mikasa’s voice begins to turn into a yell, filled with anger and frustration.

“Uh… I’m sorry, I guess. I don’t know what you’re talking about… Mikasa?” Nobara says, with a more relaxed tone than before. “Five years ago was 2013, not 845…”

“I don’t… Understand…” Mikasa’s train of thought becomes tangled up in the situation.

“Uh yeah, I’m not sure I’m understanding either. Come with me, I’ll… Help you I guess..?” Nobara says out of a bit of sympathy. Does this girl really have amnesia? Nobara asked herself, as she began to walk back to Jujutsu High with Mikasa.

Meanwhile, Mikasa was wondering what the hell was happening. She swore just before she went to sleep she was caring for Eren after he was almost kidnapped by Reiner… Wait. Where was Eren? Mikasa began to worry for the safety of Eren, as he usually got himself into less than fortunate circumstances.

“I’m pretty sure I know someone who can help you,” Nobara told Mikasa, gazing upward towards the sky. “Just try and remember some more things about yourself so we can try and help you.” Nobara continued, looking back to Mikasa with a reassuring gaze.

“Mikasa..?” Armin called out as Mikasa entered the infirmary. Mikasa’s eyes lit up with the familiar voice.

“Kugisaki!?” The energetic pink-haired teen spoke, voice laced with confusion. “What the hell… Hey, they’re wearing the same thing!” The pink-haired one pointed out, pointing to Mikasa and Armin’s uniform.

“Okay… What the hell is going on.” Nobara groaned, looking between the two kids. Suddenly, she remembered something. “Where the hell is Fushiguro—” As Nobara spoke, Mikasa’s voice frantically rang out.

“Where’s Eren!?”
