Chapter Text
On a cloudy, gloomy Monday morning, school had just begun for the semester. Seventeen-year-old Yoo Joonghyuk had found himself developing feelings for a classmate named Kim Dokja. He didn’t know exactly when it started; maybe it was the way Kim Dokja’s laughter echoed across the classroom, effortlessly drawing people in, or how he seemed to shine even in the dullest weather; but lately, Yoo Joonghyuk had found himself watching more closely, counting the number of times Kim Dokja smiled at someone else, and wondering how many of those smiles were meant for him. Even so, every day he spent quietly yearning was another day some person would pursue Kim Dokja instead of Yoo Joonghyuk.
Sometime before classes began, Yoo Joonghyuk found himself staring down into the courtyard where students were milling about, chatting and going about their daily activities. Yoo Joonghyuk's eyes scanned across the large area for Kim Dokja. There. Kim Dokja was assisting and befriending his underclassmen, giving them advice in their studies, and everything else Yoo Joonghyuk didn't like. Of course he'd never admit that; although he could count the number of times he and Kim Dokja had spoken on a single hand, or when Kim Dokja had helped him. Kim Dokja probably didn't even remember Yoo Joonghyuk's name.
This time, an underclassman had been getting too close to Dokja, and Yoo Joonghyuk found himself growing upset at the sight.. Why did Dokja allow it? He would have to step in later; he wouldn't allow himself not to, he had to get rid of whoever that was.
Later on, Yoo Joonghyuk discovered the name of that person. Yoo Sangah. She had been overly kind and clingy towards Kim Dokja, yet Kim Dokja had been oblivious to that fact, Yoo Joonghyuk had to make this person stop. And soon .
Around lunchtime, all the students had been released from the confinement of their classrooms, allowing them to roam. Yoo Joonghyuk had located Yoo Sangah within the women’s restroom. Making sure no one would enter for a while, he stealthily snuck around behind Yoo Sangah and grabbed her, one hand covering her mouth. Forcing her towards an unlocked stall, he slammed her head into the toilet water abruptly, the splash soaking up to the elbow of his sleeve. Air bubbles slowly started dispersing one after the other, until none had been left; signifying the person with their head submerged had drowned. Yoo Sangah was put in her place.
Her body had been found lifeless on the floor the next day.
The school had quieted down for a short while in mourning the loved girl. It was found to be suicide after further inspection. No suspicions directed towards the quiet Yoo Joonghyuk.
After having finished their period of mourning, the school resumed as usual. Kim Dokja had been participating in some gardening club activities. Another student, also a part of the club and Kim Dokja's upperclassmen, had begun to show special attention towards him.Yoo Joonghyuk was agitated, the sight boiling blood in his veins.
