BIGMOUTH BY JULIA B.H.
PROLOUGE: WORK
It was a peaceful day.
The sky blackened by smog, as per usual, the only thing illuminating the sky being the giant neon sign located near a large building. The sign glowed a bright blue, the letters gleamed so brightly it could burn your retinas if you looked for too long. The letters adorning the sign read 'THE HOME OF THE BIGMOUTH'.
The building the sign was placed at was rectangular, a mess of colors, on account of the building being rebuilt from explosive ruins tens of times. The windows that used to be there were replaced with large wooden boards, and a few were even replaced by grey concrete walls. The guards adorned every wall they could, holding large guns with ammunition the size of a man's head. Many suspected it was a man's head, but none lived long enough to prove it.

I sat along a wall, in line to receive my daily rations from the ‘Vendo-matic’… why they ever stuck with that stupid name, I’ll never know. When it was my turn to receive, I tapped a few buttons and a small metallic looking square popped out from the flap. Mmmm, sludge. I begun walking away from the machine, towards the small number of tables, most of which being occupied by other workers. Everyone, including myself, had to wear these blue uniforms. They were uncomfortable, but I would never say that to boss’s face. I sat down at the only circular table available and begun to unwrap the tray. Inside was one portion of brownish-gray sludge, and some sort of fruit or vegetable. I ate my portions quickly and started to walk out of the room. I had to get to work, of course. I peer around the hallway as I sort of jog to my next location, the walls are embellished with posters, I saw one that said, ‘BIGMOUTH WILL STRIKE AGAIN’. Everyone’s always talking about that damned Bigmouth, like it was some sort of deity. I remember hearing from a fellow worker that it was just a guy with a big mouth, but others said it was some sort of God. I believed neither, I mean, I’m not really one to believe in anything. What’s the point? We’re all going to die someday.

CHAPTER ONE
It was finally time for a break. I peered out the window at the inky, smoke-filled sky, over at the ‘Bigmouth Building’, as some called it. The sign was illuminated so bright it looked like the old legend of the sun. They say there was once a big ball of light in the sky, but I don’t see anything like that. Just the jet-black sky.
It’s beautiful in a way, like a small child befriending a wild beast.
Then subsequently being eaten by it.
I hear a bell ringing, signaling the workers to get back to work. The day was almost over. A voice came over the intercom. “Good day staff... uhm… get back to work, and… Mr. Danesh, first name Pepper, report to my office immediately.” Oh shit.
I jogged toward the office to avoid punishment, getting there rather quickly, considering my form was not the best. “Ah, Mr. Danesh. Hello. We’d just like to discuss your… less than optimal performance as of recently.”
“What do you mean, Sir? I preform all my tasks correctly each day.”
“While yes, you may do them properly, but we have hundreds of people just like you. Easily replicable. We want someone who can really do something for this company.”
“You’re fired, Pepper.”

Just what I needed today.
I make it to my home, which will soon be someone else’s. If you don’t have an income, you don’t have a life. I peer out the window to the Bigmouth building. “You know what...? I’ve got nothing else. I’m going to see the inside of that building if it’s the last thing I do.” I whisper into the window, my voice emanating with solemn distain, The window getting a slight bit of condensation from my breath.

I board my feet to the sidewalk, slight crunching noises coming from the leaves beneath my shoes, it was a surprise that there were any leaves left, considering the incredible lack of trees in the area. I peer across the road, looking left and right to check if anyone was coming. But no one ever did. I walk across the street, and I am met with the large electrically charged gate around the Bigmouth building. A small bird flies into it and falls to the ground with a ‘ZAP!’ and a small thump against the ground.
This would be difficult. I pace around the fence, one foot after the other. ‘Thump, thump, thump, thump... ‘ I peer into the fence and spot something.. is that... a hole?
There is a small hole in the fence, buzzing with electricity, it would be dangerous, but I’m willing to take that risk. I walk over to it, careful not to trigger any security measures in place.
I finally reach the small hole in the fence, the back of the building facing me and a large hill behind me. I try to put a hand through the hole and I- ‘ZAP!!’
“OW FUCK!!- “I place a hand over my mouth, trying to keep quiet. I look down at my hand, its red from pain. This wasn’t going to be fun, was it...?
I kneel and take a deep breath. readying myself to do this. I stick my head through the hole in the fence and pain urges through my veins, tears welling in my eyes, but I keep going, the electrical shocks shaking me to my core as I soldier onward.
After about a minute and a half of torture, I fall through to the other side, collapsing on to my back, and tears streaming down my cheeks.
“I… did it.”

CHAPTER TWO
I stand up, tired, and pained.
“Wow... this building is… huge...” I mutter under my breath.
The Bigmouth Building. Brick upon brick from different ages stack upon each other haphazardly, colors meshing to create this immense structure. Guards line the walls, yet I am unseen, behind the building is safe. almost, peaceful. Almost… serene. I shake my head and snap myself out of my trance, trying to find a way into the building. Admiring it won’t get me anywhere, will it? My eyes dart around the back wall, being met with a stunning lack of nothing except a small peephole.

“I couldn’t fit in there, could I?” I whisper. I Definitely couldn’t, as unfortunately, I’m not a fly. I wish I were though. I decide to walk around some more to try to find another entrance, like- I’m met with a back door. -a back door. Perfect. I pull on the handle, and surprisingly its unlocked. Awesome. I peep my head through and what I saw was… something.
“M-my master, I am here to present you with a-an offering!” A whimpering guard says to something beyond my vision.
“Present it already.” A low grumble from the deep voice escapes its lips.
“H-here, sir!” The guard holds up a small golden trinket, seemingly thousands of years old.
“Denied.”
A giant fist comes upon the man, and he is crushed entirely, a large cracking sound emanating through the entire room. When his fist lifted, all that was left of the man was half of his torso, the rest pounded into a cherry red pulp on the cold concrete. Oh my god..
A Guard peers my way and his eyes widen. He yells “INTRUDER!” and Everyone in the room looks my way. Oh shit.
“What do we do about it, Mr-”

“Bring it to me.”
Guards come my way and heave me along towards the thing, my attempts to escape their combined grasps futile.
“Lets take a look at you, Shall me?” Says Mr. Bigmouth.
“Wh-What are you..?!” I mutter out to the strange being before me. It was like a human… but… fucked up… as if it was a giant. Like those legends.
