It has to be you

Summary:

Namtan is tired but she has Film by her side. Fans saw how she looked at Film at the LOreal Paris event and maybe her glances were a giveaway as to how she really felt for the younger woman.

Notes:

it's been so long since i last wrote something and lo and behold the only people to give me inspiration to write again are namtan and film. so here is a fluff piece for everyone. Not proof-read because we like pain like that (we all watched pluto).

Work Text:

Oh she knows.

Oh she knows.

Namtan saw all the fans teasing her online, tagging her over pictures from the event she just attended with Film. Not that her stares weren’t intentional because it was part of her job after all but maybe. just maybe. a tiny part of the stares wasn’t just work anymore.

It’s been a rough couple of days for Namtan. Endless schedules: ambassador appearances, a new series, variety show filming, and the fan fest that just ended. She barely had the time to even get 5 hours of sleep a day, but she was glad that she only had one thing set for today. Her appearance with Film for the Loreal Paris event.

“Phi..” The younger one calls out as she enters the room. “Yes, film?” Namtan asks barely looking up from her phone as she fights off the drowsiness forcing over her. She just got her make up done and was now in the middle of her hair getting straightened out when Film came into the room.

“I was about to— Are you okay?” Film asked as she looks at the older in concern, eyes filled with worry. Hand reaching out as she places it on Namtan’s shoulder on instinct. Skinship had come naturally to them thanks to those intimacy workshops.

The tone laced with worry was quick to hit Namtan’s ears. In response, she put away her phone to lock eyes with Film. “Phi is okay, Film. I didn’t get much sleep last night since my schedule finished late.” The answer was sincere and worrying the other was the last thing that she wanted to do, especially now that the cat-like woman was crouched at eye-level with her.

Film leaned in a little closer, eyes searching deeply into the older's pair as if to check if she was lying. “Are you sure? You know you can always tell me anything.”

“I’m sure, Film. Is there anything you wanted?” She answered back, eyes straying away to look back at the mirror behind the younger. She did not want to hold the topic any longer nor did she want to keep close distance between their faces. The former was all dolled up, looking like God’s gift to all of humanity, and her smell— Oh heavens. She was so intoxicating that Namtan wanted nothing but to shove her face into the crook of the shorter girl’s neck to sniff her all day long.

With scrunched eyebrows and tiny pout to her lips Film drops the topic at Namtan’s lead. “I was going to open some snacks from the fan support boxes. Do you want some?” Finally pulling her face away from the other.

“Snacks sound good.” Namtan hums in agreement, something with sugar would help her energy for sure. She watches as the other does a happy hop before leaving the room to fetch the snacks. Her heart unable to help but swell at the sight of a happy and excited Film. There was just something about her that always made Namtan swell in adoration and affection.

It took some time for Film to come back that Namtan was lounging around scrolling on her phone once more when the door swung open revealing a happy Film, lips stretched up to the sky as she seemed to be beaming in excitement. This was enough to make Namtan return the same huge smile as she watches the younger place two plastic containers of fruits on the table in front of her along with a drink.

“What is that?”

“The fans sent some fruits and cake, but I figured we could save the cake until later since we need to fit in those tight dresses.” Film hummed happily. The drink being picked up once more as she places the unsealed straw through the lid. “and here!” she placed the drink in Namtan’s hands, “I thought a cheer up might help, so I got you a matcha from your favorite place.”

So that’s why she took her time to get back.

Who knew that such a small action could make all the exhaustion go away. She knew Film made her heart skip a beat, maybe even several, but this. Film would be the death of her. Her poor heart to be more specific.

“Thank you, babi..” she croaks out trying to keep her emotions at bay. She blames the exhaustion for the tears.

“Hey, phiii!” the younger coos as her smile continues to linger on her delicate features. Hands reaching up to cup Namtan’s cheeks in a gentle touch. “Why are you crying?”

“I’m not crying!” Namtan defends with a guilty smile, “I’m just really happy to have you. I wasn’t lying when I said it was you. It has to be you. You know?” she continued as her guilty smile shifts to a cheeky one. A little flirting couldn’t be helped, not when your on-screen partner is this amazing.

A light blush decorates Film’s cheeks, whisker dimples appearing in full, as she pulls away to playfully smack at the other’s arm. “Be serious, phi.” She lets out in a tiny grumble, trying to conceal her own happiness over the other’s words. “I really got worried over you.”

There goes that darn thumping in Namtan’s chest once more. Stop being so noisy. Namtan thinks to herself as she takes a sip of her drink then placing it safely on the table in fears of dropping it because Film was making her feel weak.

“I am being serious. You are amazing, Film. I hope you know that.” The look in Namtan’s eyes showing nothing but seriousness even if her smile told otherwise. “I could just..” Namtan places her hands on Film’s waist as she playfully pretends to squeeze her with all her might.

“Phii!” The younger squeals out happily, arms on Namtan’s shoulders as her laughter fills the room and Namtan’s heart.

“I feel all my energy replenished. I have the best babi ever!” Namtan shouts with pride as if she was trying to let the entire company hear.

“You are so loud!” Film hisses but her smile betrays her as she locks eyes with Namtan. “There. You look more beautiful when you are happy, babi. And here I was thinking of a back up plan incase the matcha wasn’t enough to cheer you up.”

“Oh? And what was your back up plan hm?” Namtan inquires as her hands continue to rest on the shorter woman’s waist, eyes hinting a look of curiosity over her words.

“I was going to have to go to extremes!” Film exclaims in an overdramatic manner, arms flinging into the air as she pretends to be completely exhausted before she continues “I was going to kiss your cheek to cheer you up.”

“You what?! Suddenly I’m all tired again.” She plays along as she flings herself back on the sofa melting against it like she lost all the energy in her limbs. “Babi, I need that kiss.” Her teases with her eyes closed. The action eliciting even more laughter from the younger.

“You are just teasing me now!”

“I’m really not.. I need that kiss to regain my energy.” Namtan retorts back as she tries to hold back a smile. “Please give phi a kiss.” Her heart thumping even more loudly now because the younger’s kisses were her second favorite thing in the world. The first being her, of course.

“You are such a tease.” The younger whispers under her breath before she takes a quick second to herself then leaning forward to tower over the other, “you are amazing, babi. You’ve been working so hard and I’m so proud of you.” She whispers into the other’s ear before placing a soft kiss on her cheek.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

There you go again. Namtan curses her heart for being in chaos, but she figures it was inevitable. Her heart will never not race for Film. Opening her eyes, she meets the younger’s pair with a deep blush to her cheeks. “I like you, Racha.”

It was Film’s turn as the blush appears once more, “I know, phi. I like you too.”

“Racha, will you be my—” Namtan’s words were cut short when their attention shift to their manager, P’Ying, who comes into the room with an entourage in tow. “Alright, girls. Time to get changed.” She orders as the group of stylists start to fill the room. “What are you two doing?”

It was almost instantaneous that both Namtan and Film jump apart, Film ending up seated at Namtan’s side as they look at their manager like two deers caught in headlights. “Nothing, phi. I was just teasing Film.” Namtan explains causing the younger to hit her on the arm like clockwork.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if one day, Film decides to bite your head off.” Their manager chides, shaking her head at the two girls. “Come on. We need to get to the mall in an hour. I’ll leave you two to the stylists.” P’ying continues before pulling out her phone and leaving the room.

Namtan shifts her attention back to the younger. I almost asked her.

As if Film knew what ran through the older’s mind, she sends her a sweet smile before humming out, “we’ll continue this after the event. Okay, phi?” to which the older can older respond with a nod.

Namtan’s heart was full. All thanks to this junior of her’s who she didn’t expect to be this attached to when they first met but here they are.

Maybe I love her already.
