Work Text:
“Tim Drake never had it easy, despite what everyone thinks. He was never some rich, spoiled brat that just happened to lose his parents. No, Tim Drake was so much more than that.
He was a hero, a boyfriend, a brother, and, most importantly, he was a son. A son that was way too young to experience any of the things he had experienced.
He didn’t deserve to lose Janet. Or Jack. Or even Bruce. But he did. And eventually, the pain was so much, that the world ended up losing him.
Here’s to hoping that they won’t completely forget you, Replacement. And I hope you’re happy up there, with them, in that big country club in the sky.”
The nickname was said with a bitterness that starkly contrasted the playfulness with which Jason usually said it. It was a shock to everyone that the man, who seemed to resent Tim, even when he didn’t show it, practically insisted to give the eulogy at Tim’s funeral.
And if you look closely you could see a small tear running down the normally so intimidating looking man’s cheek. Because, even if he didn’t show his love for his family a lot, he still lost his little brother.
