Chapter Text

Akito couldn’t stand being inside anymore. He feels restless, feels as if the comfort of his own home wasn’t… fulfilling enough.

He didn’t know what to do. On one hand, I wanted to go out, to search for Toya, to ask him what happened – but a voice in his head told him no, told him that it was useless. What were the chances of finding him anyways? It was like playing on a rigged slot machine.

But another voice in his head told him to just take a shot.

Akito didn’t know why, but he has multiple voices in his head speaking all at once twenty-four hours a day. Sometimes the ginger feels annoyed by it as it makes him unable to focus on multiple occasions – but other times, such as this one, he thanks whatever god there is out there for it.

He was gonna listen to the small voice that he had always silenced before.

Taking a random hoodie from the bed, not caring if it was clean or not, Akito would put it on without a word. He’d walk over to his desk, taking his phone and immediately putting it inside the hoodie’s jacket, not caring how much the battery was – not that it would be high anyways since he forgot to charge it last night. Getting out of his room, he wouldn’t even bother taking even a single slice of bread from the table, his focus already elsewhere now. If he gets hungry, maybe he’ll just buy some soda from that one convenience store. The discount’s still up, right? Today was the last day, if he had remembered correctly.

He had nothing on him. Nothing. Only his phone, some scraps inside his pockets, and a heart he didn’t know why he’s trusting.

His feet just kept moving on their own, as if telling him to just trust the feeling.

Just once.
