Work Text:
“So Reflect? Ready for out day of just chilling?” Chrom, was happy now that everything was done and Grima was finally banished!
For a moment he thought they’d never see each other again, yet still they did!
Since that day, maybe a few months have passed, and they had about zero time for each other, with managing the kingdom and the fallout of the Valmite conquests, and reconstructing the Plegian monarchy, and, and, and…
Reflect on the other hand, was fully engrossed in her studies. And she means like fully fully engrossed. The times Frederick had to carry her to the lunch room can’t be counted on a cow’s skin!
Anyways, that’s where they are now! Sitting on the couch, looking at each other and grinning into each other’s faces.
After a while Reflect started to fidget, and Chrom dusted his uniform off for the umpteenth time.
“Okay this is getting ridiculous! We’ve waited months for this for the god’s sake! We should do something.” Chrom moaned, finally breaking the silence.
“So wanna play some board games?”
“No, you always beat me at them.”
“Then maybe, we could do some sparring!”
“Not really in the mood to get sweaty. Also I do that every day anyways! Today needs to be special!!!”
Reflect is out of suggestions! She is making that grimace she likes to make when she’s thinking really hard. Chrom’s really into it.
Then a big dopey, if not mischievous smile spread over her face, “then how about,” she started in a catsy voice as she her fingers crawled over Chrom’s bare arm, “you let me serve you!”
“Serve me?”
“yeah~ I have THE outfit for this. You’ll love it~”
Now Chrom was starting to smile.
“Alright. If you say so. Please, go ahead. Serve me!”
A little role-play certainly is the idea! And it even got him a small kiss on the cheek as a reward, before the tactician vanished behind the door.
When she was teasing the outfit, Chrom did hope it meant he can watch, but alright.
---
In the bedroom, Reflect was just finishing up, the apron on top of the black and purple dress fitting nicely and a little metal accessory with white fabric on top fitted perfectly on her red head!
“Perfect! He’ll love it!”
Assuming a confident posture she started walking out, slightly stumbling on the heightened heels of her shoes.
“Tada~”
“Oh my!!” Chrom could only gasp, as he looked at his wife’s newest outfit!
Who was now bowing before him, on one knee as was proper etiquette!
“Allow me to serve you, my king!” she exclaimed, not without flashing a little smile.
“Oh, yeah, yeah! Do that, my … maid?”
“Then I shall start of with serving your afternoon wine!”
“My... what- Ah yes, the ‘afternoon wine’, certainly!”
And so she vanished again! This time into the kitchen.
What an elaborate role play.
---
Humming, there was Reflect in her cutesy costume, preparing a bottle together with some biscuits and other stuff she figured belonged to the wine! Honestly she has no damn clue what she’s doing, but she was having fun so it didn’t matter!
Until a random tingle spread in her mind. It felt like a strand of headache, but Reflect knew damn well what it was!
Or rather who.
“NO! Not now! Not today!”
In reaction the pain widened, and turned into a full blown headache. Reflect dropped the plate she was holding and while it shattered on the ground, she moved to hold her head, the headache was overpowering!
“Nghhhhh- please…. please….” her voice moaned out in despair, in a futile attempt to stop what was happening, to prolong it.
But no matter.
I was already here.
“What’s the matter, Reflect?” I asked with venom, “Wasn’t this our agreement? That you could coexist. For him.”
Reflect heard my voice, it was deep in her mind, but audible to her without issue, but only to her, she knew who it was.
“Yes, I remember- ngghhhh- but i thought you nggghhh would wait longer.”
“I have waited more than long enough. It is time to spread my wings! And don’t worry, i remember my end of the bargain too. You’ll have your pitiable, weak body back in no time~ I will simply ‘borrow’ it for a little while.
“Yes!!! I remember the nggghhh the nghh--- the…..”
And so her mind finally vanished. That stupid act of resistance faded, and she was finally in the backseat of this bodies idiotic little mindscape.
And now only I remained.
And when I entered its front, I could finally see again, and I liked what I was seeing! On my wrist I could see the glyph glowing, and grabbing some of my annoyingly long hair, I could witness it turning white.
The process was finished. The fell dragon is back!
OUCH! Yes of course! Only for some hours.
Oh but what was that? What a cute outfit. Are we playing servant with your man? Oh and you even prepared some wine for him? Droll!
Then I guess I can finish your little game.
---
When Reflect come back, it has been some time and Chrom almost feared something happened.
But there she was, with a nice bottle wine in tow!
“Ah there you are Ref- Maid! I was fearing my wine wouldn’t arrive!” he played his role.
Internally I was laughing my bottom (did you think I’d use the crass word? Haha, worm, I would not go to your meagre level!) off, but externally I made the perfect imitation of Reflect’s disgusting lovey dovey act.
“Yes I am back, my master! And I have acquired you the best vintage you could ever fathom!”
I took a glass of my tray and put it down on the coffee table, then I grabbed the bottle and started pouring. Slowly, my eyes half lidded (internally I am dying I’ll have you know! Those two are gross!) as I let each cube inch drop into the glass with care.
“But beware wo- master. This might leave a … stain~” I added with my lovey dovey voice.
And then, just as he was grabbing the glass, I struck!
The knife was perfectly hidden in my other hand he would not have seen cause the prince has eyes only for his beloved wife! The same wife that now will deliver steel right through the heart she stole!!!
But instead he grabbed my arm, the knife stopping where it was.
His other hand turned the wine and took a sip right after.
“You were right! It is an excellent vintage. But I have you know, mine is also pretty good. For one I can realise when my wife has suddenly white hair.”
He pushed my arm away, and I lost my balance (Fuck these stupid heels, why would anyone wear that!) and fell right on my arse.
“Give me Reflect back!”
Falchion was right on my neck.
“I knew you’d return!” he added.
“HOW! We agreed on silence!” I was getting angry, irationally so!
“I don’t need Reflect to tell me to know, she’s my wife, gods be damned!”
“Very well worm, you have me! Finish it then! Slaughter my body, seal me away until I return in a millennium! And bury your darling wife!”
And that’s when he relented, and when I finally made my way out!
He obviously tried to catch me but I’m to fast for him, hehehehehe!
Of course that meant that I was now running bare footed (I am not keeping those shoes on!) on the grounds of his castle (which I know well from watching Reflect, hehe) in the world’s goofiest outfit! Any other would be emberassed!
Also, this little failed stunt cost me a lot of time, so I’ll have to make quick work before I have to give the body back to this worm! But for a murder or two it should definitely-
And that’s when that damned crow started bickering on my eyes!
“Get OFF you stupid birdbrain!”
“Hey you’re not reflect! What is the fell dragon doing here!” It was some child in a cleric’s uniform!
“You, servant of the Fell, I require your help! Your god demands it!”
“That’s not very nice of you! I am not a errand boy, hiahihia.”
“Henry! Be vigilant that’s not-”
“Reflect? Yeah I know.”
Chrom just stared at the boy. Apparently he decided that it didn’t matter enough, cause now he’s just staring me down.
“Damn you worm,” I tried some final taunts, “You have ruined everything. But I’ll be back, and now that you know that your wife holds evil inside, how can you ever truly have any faith in her?”
One last fit of laughter, before the dark came back and I was once again nowhere.
Reflects hair started turning red again, her eyes started to open.
“Nggh- Is it gone?”
“Yes. You did it Reflect.”
Chrom helped her up and to a nearby bench.
“You knew?”
“No, but I feared.”
“And you never told me? I thought it would kill you!”
“But because you didn’t know I could defend myself.”
“True...”
“Let’s go back. It’s over, it’s gonna take a while until it returns.”
“Yeah,” Reflect answers half-heartedly. She’s not gonna mention it.
The full extent of our eternal deal. The monster she allowed me to make her, for this pathetic love.
