His hand in hers as if their lives were connected by thousands of invisible threads, tied around them. As if they were meant to be — destined to meet each other long before the war. 

 

And the rhythm of her heart beating within was the only melody pounding in his ears. She kept dancing, and he was there for her. And the serenity itself has filled his aching chest — and the calm was regained again. 

 

Their faded shadows like moths were waltzing in the moonlight — like fireflies lightening each other's way through the night. As two broken souls have found peace in their own dance.

Chapter 2: To You, My Love

My dearest Iris, 

With this letter, I am no longer able to hide and fight what should be resisted at such times we're living in. 

 

Our days are counted but my pure love for you knows no boundaries. My heart chooses to be yours and my life is no one but yours. 

 

With all my heart, I am telling you the truth. My soul — my poor soul is torn apart by this despairing distance as I am here, far away from you. Without you, my love, my only light in the darkest hour.

 

I hope this letter and its words would not be lost but discovered by you before I am nowhere, buried deep down, killed on the battlefield.
