Work Text:
Isagi Yoichi is bored.
Sitting at his usual table in the cafeteria is Isagi Yoichi, currently eating his breakfast with his circle of friends made up by Kurona, Hiori and Yukimiya.
Isagi isn’t usually bored because of course, he has football.
But you can’t always have what you want.
Today’s practice was canceled — apparently the AI simulation system was shutdown for some mysterious reason. So today was a free day for most, and a gym day for a few (which basically just mean Kunigami)
Isagi Yoichi is bored.
So, while eating breakfast with his friends, an idea suddenly pops up.
“What if I try to make Reo jealous?”
They all turned to look at him in disbelief at the same time, their breakfast now forgotten. “Why would you do something like that, Isagi-kun?”Hiori asks with a questioning look.
“Wait. Hear me out, okay?” Isagi retorts, now placing his chopsticks on the table in a perfectly parallel position. “Since today’s practice is off, I just thought of doing something different that could get the time to speed up, you know?”
Hiori blinks. Just as he’s about to add something, Kurona interrupts him. “Isagi is right, right. It’s only morning and I am also bored, bored. It would be fun to see Reo-kun get jealous, jealous.”
“Yeah. Plus what’s there to lose? I mean it’d be kind of fun to see Reo go berserk in his own way because of this.” Yukimiya butts in.
“See? Even Yukimiya approves this. Come on, Hiori.” Isagi begs, trying to make the cutest face possible to lure him in. “Alright, Isagi-kun. You win this time.” Hiori shoots him a warm smile.
“You guys are the best! Watch me make him jealous in record time!” Isagi announces with a grin. He doesn’t actually know how long it’s gonna take, doesn’t he?

Today’s first victim: his best friend, Bachira Meguru.
After eating breakfast, Isagi starts heading towards Bachira, who is devouring his rice with his new friends from his stratum (which Isagi does not know at all, except for Otoya, that he barely interacted with after the U20 match).
While talking to him, he makes sure to be a little bit too loud to everyone’s liking, making sure Reo’s head turns towards him.
“Hey, Bachira! I was wondering if I could sit here?”
“Oh, Isagi! Yes yes, sit beside me!” Isagi does as told, and while sitting down, he slungs an arm around Bachira’s shoulder, sitting awfully close to him, with little to no space between them.
Bachira being Bachira thinks nothing of that, of course. He scoots even closer to him, and giving him the Bachira-smile that makes him blush for a second.
Just as he thinks he has succeeded, he turns around hoping to see the jealousy displayed over his purple-haired boyfriend, but the space he’d been a moment ago was now empty.
Isagi gets up with the excuse of having to go to his room and starts heading away, with a sad expression on his face.

The first attempt didn’t go very well.
But there’s always a second chance of course.
New victim: Nagi Seishirou.
What better victim if not his boyfriend’s best friend? Isagi sometimes think that he’s the ultimate genius of all— a claim some would definitely challenge. But moving forward, Isagi decides to head once again to the cafeteria, now being lunchtime.
He has a plan: taking his lunch tray to sit not with his friends, but this time, to sit with Nagi, who is usually eating with his best friend. Seriously, why does Reo always eat with Nagi if he’s with Isagi? Wait, no. He can’t be the one to get jealous.
Without a doubt here they are eating their lunch with Reo sitting in front of Nagi, while eating some rice and a few other things that Isagi couldn’t care less. He heads to sit next to Nagi, mumbling a quiet “Hey, can I sit here?”and earning a suspicious look from his boyfriend.
“Hey, Isagi.” Nagi greets him while still looking at his phone, playing video games. How does this guy have a phone once again?
Without answering his question, Nagi makes space for Isagi to sit.
Just as he’s about to sit, Reo speaks up. “Isagi, you finally decided to join us? Thought I’d have to borrow you myself from your friend’s claws.”
How naive of Reo to think he’s here for him. Well, technically he is, but he has another motive which Reo doesn’t know about.
“Yeah,” he said flatly.
Deciding to change the route of the conversation (which was going nowhere) He shifts his gaze to Nagi’s phone, now trying to make a small talk with Nagi in front of Reo’s eyes to once again, make him jealous.
“Wow Nagi, is this the new football game? I heard of it before coming to Blue lock, heard it’s pretty realistic,”Isagi says as an opener, hoping to get a response out of him.
“You know this game, Isagi? I didn’t think you were the type to play video games.” Nagi asks in a monotone as always.
“I mean yeah, I don’t usually play video games but I do if they’re about football.”
This earns a small chuckle from the latter.
“I should have known.”
Lunch comes to an end with Isagi talking with Nagi about that football game most of the time, without forgetting to glance up at Reo, checking for any sign of jealousy on his face, but all he sees is a neutral expression which he can’t quite decipher.
So he decides in his head, this was once again, another failure.

Itoshi Rin is a mysterious guy, right?
He doesn’t talk much, doesn’t have many friends and gives off a scary dog vibe.
But what if that dog can be tamed?
The answer is: no.
A scary, bad dog can’t be tamed.
But, you can earn its trust.
Isagi Yoichi is a kind guy — unless you’re playing against him in a football match —.
What would happen if someone big and scary met someone kind and pure? Well— for starters, wait why are we deviating?

People say third time’s the charm, right? Well, Isagi really hopes that this is true.
He has, once again, another plan in his mind. Rin is a tough guy, so it’ll be hard to talk to him— but what if Isagi doesn’t have to start a conversation with him?
It is now afternoon, a few hours until dinner, and Isagi decides to try some yoga. Of course, he picks the exact time where both Rin and Reo are exercising. He somehow got lucky in catching them both at the same time, but who would be stupid enough to refuse this chance he’s being given by who knows who?
Once he got there, he stares a bit at Rin, watching him doing his usual weird exercises. He starts to head towards him taking his mat with him— but not before stealing a glance at Reo, which was completely uninterested in whatever was about to happen.
Seriously, how did Reo not notice what Isagi has been trying to do all day? Does he have to say it to his face for him to notice? Isagi really hopes he doesn’t have to do that.
Once Isagi has reached his destination, he places the mat on the floor, and starts to (purposely) mess up whatever exercise he was doing— because, truth be told, he was just copying was Rin was doing.
As expected, Rin steals Isagi a glance, and surely not a friendly one.
But it was what Isagi had been aiming for anyway.
Just as he’s about to copy another exercise, Rin suddenly speaks up.
“Are you doing this on purpose? How can you be this bad at yoga? You lukewarm, no wonder you’re so bad at football.”
Alright, this hit a nerve. BUT, since he’s doing it to make Reo jealous, he’s going to absolutely ignore what Rin just sai— You know what? Just looking at him pisses Isagi off. He cant take this anymore.
He suddenly gets up, leaving his mat laying flat on the ground, while reaching (stomping) for the door.
Maybe third time’s not the charm.

Isagi Yoichi is tired.
It’s now 8 pm. Almost time for dinner.
But Isagi is bored, plus he still hasn’t accomplished his mission to make his boyfriend jealous.
He thinks of who could be next, but just as he’s about to pass the locker room, he notices him.
Alexis Ness. Changing clothes. With Reo just a few lockers away from him. Wait when did Alexis practice yoga?
Before he lets this chance go to waste, Isagi needs to act fast.
“Hey Reo, Hey Ness,” He randomly butts in.
Two heads turn to look at him, both giving him a weird face, but Isagi couldn’t care less, honestly.
“Wow, Ness! Your body seems way more balanced than when you first entered blue lock. Do you hit the gym in here pretty often? You look more bulked up, you know?” He offers Ness a smile, which the latter doesn’t seem… pleasant to receive.
Isagi is about to die from awkwardness, just looking at Ness in the eyes, desperately, and hoping to receive an answer from him.
“Uh, thanks?”
Well, atleast he didn’t point out the fact that they aren’t on… friendly terms and that they would never say something like this to each other.
But ignoring that, he glances at Reo, hoping to -finally- get that jealous face out of him. But of course, to no avail, Reo was already gone. Isagi internally punches himself for that.

Isagi is starting to lose hope.
It’s dinner time, and he’s sitting with his Bastard Munchen’s team friends.
What they’re talking about? How shitty Isagi’s day was.
He tells them everything, from start to finish. How he tried to make Reo jealous by complimenting Ness’ body, and more.
What they’re talking say in response? Nothing. Instead, they start laughing at his face.
Isagi is hurt by that okay? He’s been trying hard to make Reo jealous— the least they can do is show him support, not laugh at his damn face.
“Don’t laugh! Help me out there. I’m trying my best, alright? Give me some ideas, guys.”
“Isagi-kun, you really are a funny guy,” Hiori retorts with a weirdly sweet smile.
“Hiori is right, Isagi, Isagi. Thanks to you I’m not that bored anymore, anymore.”
“Yeah. I’d suggest we help you. We’ll end up laughing at you anyway.” Yukimiya says, with his elbow on the table and his face on his fist.
“Finally, you decided to help me? What should we do then?” Isagi asks with a curious look.
“Maybe,” Hiori halts for a second. “One of us could be your victim.” This earns some weird looks directed to him.
“So you’re saying that I should make Reo jealous by using one of you? That could actually… work. Nice one, Hiori!”
They devour their meal fast, so phase one of the plan can start.
The plan consists of three real easy phases— the first is to laugh loud. But not just anyone laughing out loud at anyone, but to Isagi laughing really loud at Yukimiya’s jokes. This feels like Deja-vu.
Anyway, after this, phase two should take place. After attracting some attention to them — hopefully from Reo — Isagi is gonna get close to Yukimiya, showing him the cutest laughing face he could ever make. — which for a second does actually affect Yukimiya, but makes sure not to show it —
Phase three comes right after this. Isagi then has to slung his arm around Yukimiya shoulder (Again, it feels like Deja-vu…) and start making some jokes himself, while Yukimiya has to do what Isagi previously did— laugh at his jokes.
After this, boom. Reo starts walking to them, he suddenly reaches up to Isagi’s arm and unlaces it from Yukimiya shoulder.
Except, after phase 3 kicks in, Reo doesn’t come at them, but just stares. Stares at Isagi for a while, but not quite making a move for it.
Isagi doesn’t know if what he did finally had effect on Reo or not. But by seeing Reo continuing then to eat, Isagi guesses it was the latter.

+ 1
It’s almost time for bed, with some guys around the stratum’s and some already in their room. Isagi was, of course, the former. He was hanging around the TV’s room, watching some old footage of Noel Noa and some other pro footballers. But he’s not alone, He’s currently with some of Bastard Munchen’s players — which include Kurona, Hiori, Yukimiya, Kaiser and Gesner — and some players from the other stratum, which of course includes Reo himself, but he’s standing a little further away with his little group of friends from the English stratum.
Isagi is now too tired to try and make Reo jealous. He gives up. And he’s not the type to usually give up, but it’s too late right now and all he wants to do is watch Noel Noa’s play and go straight to his bed.
This day was tiring, he has to admit. To his left, there is Kurona Ranze, while to his right, there is Micheal Kaiser. He really doesn’t know why Kaiser chose to sit besides him, knowing they both hate each other to death.
But sleep is overcoming him, his eyes now too heavy to stay open, so he decides to rest just for a second.
He’s a bit uncomfortable, though. So he decides to rest next to Kurona to his right. Did Kurona grow taller? His shoulder sure is broader than last time he saw him— but who cares? It’s actually more comfortable this way. He feels someone’s hand slightly run through his hair, and Isagi has to admit, he’s enjoying it.
Just as he’s about to fall asleep— he feels himself being pulled backwards. This of course makes him suddenly open his eyes, just to find Reo staring directly at him.
“… Reo?”
“Isagi. If you’re feeling sleepy, sleep on my lap, don’t use his shoulder as a pillow.”
… What? Why can’t he use Kurona’s shoulder as a pillow? He was also tousling his hair, and it was kind of nice.
But, to be honest, as long as it’s Reo, he doesn’t mind doing whatever he says to him.
Plus, it’s kinda comfy like this…
