Mr. KK’s once sluggish set of blinks fluttered awake once he noticed a weight on top of his lap. A quietly snoring weight, no less. Despite the crick in his neck, he slowly lowered his head and rolled his eyes at the sight of MZD, who definitely looked more comfortable than he currently was. Mr. KK sighed. He couldn’t help but pout his lip the same way one would if they encountered an injured animal as he carefully removed the crooked sunglasses off His face and placed them on an adjacent table. Seeing Him sleep so peacefully amused him almost, as Mr. KK never thought of his own lap as an appropriate pillow alternative. He remained at a standstill; he wanted to go to bed, but he also wanted to run his fingers through His bronze-colored hair and caress His delicate, rosy cheeks with his thumb. He let out a sharp, yet quiet exhale as if he were about to scold himself for putting someone else’s comfort over his own for once. Unfortunately, the looming threat of pins and needles began to crawl up his calves. Surely, he could compromise.
Mr. KK gently slid one hand under MZD’s head and the other under His legs, carefully gauging the weight before silently counting to begin lifting Him. For once, he was relieved that His divine status made him virtually weightless. It also must have meant that He was a heavy sleeper, as the creek of the bedroom door didn’t pose any threat to His slumber at all. Mr. KK placed MZD into his bed as slowly and gently as he possibly could before joining Him. Still asleep, MZD began to shift to a loose, fetal position that faced his friend, as if asking for an embrace. Mr. KK was far too exhausted at this point to debate with himself. He helped the sleeping god snuggle closer into the crook of his neck before planting a tiny kiss on His forehead as he closed his eyes.
