Empty classrooms. Empty corridors. Hinata felt a little sad as he made his way through the emptiness of his old school.
Just years ago he graduated here, and now they were taking down the building that was filled with so many memories. Of course it was all for a good cause. Renovation, new buildings, improvements.
So thankfully not because their school, along with Karasuno, were disappearing. Just the old building.
As a former student, Hinata had nothing to do with it, but he was still relieved when Takeda arranged he could have a last viewing moment.
Sadly he was out of the country for a volleyball game and missed the official reunion day when all former students and staff members were invited to take one final look at the old building.
Next week they were going to demolish it. He was just in time.
"HAHAHA!"
Hinata's loud cackle suddenly echoed through the empty corridor, and he turned to see Kageyama next to him. His hand was gripping Hinata's side and tickling him with little squeezes, making him twitch and tremble.
Right, he didn't come alone!
"You were spacing out," Kageyama said. "I told you to wait, but you kept on walking," he said. Hinata rubbed his side and giggled.
"You're just so slow!" he said, earning himself another poke that made him squeak. He grabbed Kageyama's hand and together they continued walking.
School festivals, boring classes, homework sessions, supplementary classes, discussing about volleyball and getting excited, sleepovers in the classrooms for volleyball training weekends - actually pretty much all of Hinata's high school memories involved Kageyama.
He smiled, feeling happy to be here together again.
"HEHEHE!"
For a second time, Hinata's loud screech echoed through the hallway. Kageyama frowned in annoyance as if he wasn't the cause of that, by tickling him again.
"You weren't listening again. What's this with you, are you sad or something? It's just a building. They'll make a new one."
Hinata glared at him. "Kags, of course I know that. I was just reminiscing about the good old days."
"Reminiscing?"
"Hmm yup. We used to do so many things here, remember?" he said. Kageyama nodded.
"Of course I remember. I also remember how annoying you were."
Hinata shrugged. "You still fell very hard for me."
They entered a classroom where they had slept with their team for a training weekend, and he grinned.
"Now that we're here, I'd like to bring up some more memories," Hinata said, and he closed the door behind them. Kageyama cocked his head in confusion.
"Hmm? In an empty room?"
Hinata giggled and walked towards Kageyama until he stood very close. Their size difference wasn't as bad anymore as in their high school days, but his small size still gave him a specific advantage.
"Yup. All I need is my hands, after all."
Without warning he tickled Kageyama's sides. A decent payback for his tickle-jumpscares, and to bring up memories of their old tickle fights, and stuff... Never mind, Hinata didn't need a single excuse to tickle his boyfriend.
"Shouhouyouuuu! Whahaha!" Kageyama laughed hilariously, flailing his arms and turning around, but Hinata attacked him from behind with ease.
"Toohooobiiiiheeeeyouuuu," Hinata whined, mimicking him while his fingers continued to climb up his boyfriend's ticklish sides and ribs. Kageyama was as ticklish as ever. Maybe even worse than when he was still a high school kid. He used to hold back with every bit of strength he had.
Adult Kageyama no longer held back and wasn't shy anymore to laugh like this around Hinata.
Years of dating, countless volleyball competitions and now even living together, that was all it took to make him warm up the way he did. Hinata smiled. Yeah. Kageyama Tobio was his best souvenir from his high school days.
Not his volleyball career, not even his precious high school memories. His boyfriend. He wouldn't exchange him for anything else.
"Heehehehe! Ahahalright! C-cohohome ohohon!" Kageyama laughed, but Hinata jumped on his back, giving himself a free piggyback ride while he kept up the tickle attack.
When he switched to scribbling his fingers up and down Kageyama's neck, the sweetest pitchy giggles sounded through the empty classroom, causing Hinata to laugh along with him.
"Tickles hm? You started it, Tobio~" he sang. With Hinata on top of him, Kageyama tried to turn and twirl around, but Hinata held on tightly.
"Okahaay- okay okay I'm sohohorry!"
"I wasn't looking for an apology though."
"Ahahah! T-then whahhat- ahh! W-what ehehe do you wahhahant?!"
Hinata jumped off Kageyama's back and landed on his feet. He watched smugly how his pretty boyfriend caught his breath, panting and wheezing as he turned around to look at him with that cute blush on his face.
"What?" Kageyama repeated breathlessly. Hinata grinned and stood a little on his toes.
"A kiss. Duh."
Kageyama stared at him for a moment, rolled his eyes, but then slowly stepped closer. They were all alone, in an empty classroom full of memories. Even Kageyama Tobio wouldn't say no to a kiss here.
"Hmm~" Hinata hummed merrily when Kageyama leaned in and their lips touched. His own lips curled up and he moved his arms up, slowly sliding them around his boyfriend's neck, tilting his head for a better angle, opening his mouth for a better kiss and-
"HOHOHO!"
For a third time Hinata's ridiculous surprise-cackle damaged his own ears just as he felt those evil big hands clawing at his exposed underarms.
He immediately moved his arms down and backed away, but Kageyama approached him and made claws of his hands, which immediately reached for Hinata's sensitive torso.
"If you were thinking about the good old days, you should remember I never lost a tickle fight," Kageyama said, still a little breathless, and Hinata fell down when his evil lover drove him into a corner.
"Liahaahhar! You- ahahahaa! You wehehere a sohohore loseeheher!" Hinata squealed. He fell completely on his side and curled up, but Kageyama was relentless, tickling his sides, tummy, ribs, armpits, just everywhere he could reach.
Although Kageyama was just joking and he obviously did lose some tickle fights, Hinata did remember perfectly well that he could never tickle him without getting tickled back. He should've known.
"Do you give in?" Kageyama asked like he would ask him back then.
"Nehehehever!"
Hinata squealed hysterically and kicked his legs, but Kageyama just tickled him for as long as he pleased.
Or well, for as long as their privacy allowed it. An end came to Hinata's misery when the door opened, and Kageyama quickly jumped up with a smooth motion before he could get caught tickling Hinata to tears.
Hinata also quickly got up on shaking legs to see Takeda entering.
"I followed a trail of strange sounds, thinking this place was getting haunted, but it's just you two. Is everything alright? I thought you already finished looking around," he said.
Still giggling, Hinata wiped a tear from his eye. "Hehehe nope we're still here. We were just reminiscing," he said.
Kageyama nodded. "Oh those good old days," he said, and he sneakily moved his hand down and gave Hinata's side one last tickle, which wasn't visible from where Takeda stood.
Giggling more and leaning against his tickle monster boyfriend, Hinata grabbed his phone.
"Now that you're here, could you take our picture here, sensei? Please?" His habit of calling Takeda 'sensei' was never going away. Just like his memories of this school, and the things he experienced here.
Takeda smiled and took Hinata's phone from him.
"Of course!"
It was no secret to anyone that they were a happy couple, so Hinata posed normally one time, but for the second photo, he pulled Kageyama in for a cheesy kiss on the lips.
"HmPH!" Kageyama moved frantically, but luckily multiple photos were taken, so one remained where he wasn't moving. Hehe.
They then left the school building together with Takeda.
The sports hall would remain the same, so to complete their memory tour, they went to check on the place that held just as many memories. The volleyball court.
While they smiled and laughed about the past, Hinata realized he no longer felt sad about the old building. It was a new beginning.
He hoped the new building would give its students great memories, laughter and love, just like the old one did for him!
