Mizi woke up to being Sua-less on their shared bed. When she checked the clock, the arrows already merged into one pointing at 12 o’clock. The only source of light was coming from the opening crack of their bedroom.
Vaguely the sound of TV could be heard from the hallway. She groped around the darkness for her own glasses and ventured out of the cocoon of her comfy bed in the lookout for a Sua.
“Unnie…?” Mizi called out softly, rubbing her eyes. It was unmistakable—the figure swatted under layers of blanket, and looking so cuddly was Sua.
On the couch with the TV blaring her pretty face was Sua. Noticing her girlfriend, she put her mug away to greet her albeit sleepily.
“Hey,” her greeting was barely more than a whisper, but for Mizi she could hear her loud and clear. “Didn't mean to wake you up. Can't sleep. Hungry.”
And that was when Mizi's eyes roved around the table filled with Sua's craving—most of them had been opened with it being potato chips, a row of donuts from the bakery across the street, and the mug filled with hot cocoa.
Today must have been a rough night for her, the thought sneaked up on her, having known her for a decade.
Mizi approached her through the soft padded carpet. The host of the TV show was shouting about something relating to scandalous things—a man caught three-timing his girlfriends, Mizi could easily recite the next lines.
Wordlessly she sat down, wrapping her arms around Sua. And Sua leaned into her shoulder, and an open bag of potato chips was shoved in her direction.
As Mizi bites down on a handful of potato chips, making the most tasty crunchiest sound. Sua, for the first time, spoke up, “I think those girls should kiss each other and beat him up.”
Craving for violence, huh? Mizi thought, knowing how the ending wasn't far from that.
She nodded, “They would look cute together.”
