Chapter Text
Kim Minjeong.
The richest, and (almost) the most popular girl at SM High.
She’s known for her pretty, doll-like face… yet not so pretty personality. She’s a literal goddess, her blonde hair always seems to be majestically flowing, even when there is no wind. It’s like she spawns her own, or something.
She’s your classic popular girl. She’s captain of the cheer team, and she’s a bitch. Everyone fears her, no one dares to get in her way. Why? It’s because she’ll destroy anyone, even for the smallest things.
Once, she got a girl expelled because she “gave her bad vibes when she stared at her in the hallway.”
Another time, she got a guy sent to a different school because he wouldn’t stop asking her out. (That one’s pretty understandable, but still crazy).
The reason she can do all this and get away with it, is because the girl has connections. Like, her father’s close friend is literally the principal. So… yeah. It doesn’t really get much more unfair than that. She’s not really someone to mess around with, it’s like an unspoken rule that everyone follows.
Well, except for one person…
——
The hallways are filled to the brim with laughter and chatter. It’s the day after winter break, so everyone is excited to finally see their friends aga-
Thump, thump, thump…
The hallways' loud voices and giggles immediately turn into silence, as everyone’s heads turn. A familiar, yet dreaded presence, struts down the hallway.
Kim Minjeong.
Her and her friends (minions) walk in perfect synchronization down the halls. Panicked whispers now fill the silence, as if a teacher was coming. But no, it was just Minjeong. All the students part like the Red Sea, making a perfect path for their Queen Bee (whom they don’t really like).
Minjeong couldn’t help but smirk in amusement. She loved everything about her status, about how much power she had over every single student in the school. She loved being in control of every-
“Minjeongie!” a loud, very loud, voice yells.
Minjeong freezes, her amused expression dropping was almost instant. Her face turns to one of annoyance and recognition. She knows that voice.
“Fucking hell…” she mutters under her breath.
Suddenly, she feels a heavy weight on her shoulders. She turns around, and there’s a familiar person next to her, grinning at her with that cocky smile.
“…Jimin,” Minjeong grumbles, glaring at her.
Yu Jimin, the girls’ basketball captain, also known as the school’s troublemaker. And not to mention the only person who doesn’t follow the unspoken rules of obeying Kim Minjeong.
Those aren’t the only rules Jimin doesn’t follow. In fact, she doesn’t follow any.
Jimin quite literally is the textbook definition of a troublemaker. She skips/cuts class, never does her homework, teases random kids, and basically everything else you’d see in a cliche high school movie.
Teachers dread her presence, and the principal practically prepares for her visit in his office every day. She’s never been the type to care about what other people think of her. Jimin plays by her own rules, and ignores the rest. In other words, she does whatever the hell she wants. And her favorite thing to do… is to annoy Minjeong.
How does she get away with it? Well… let’s say the two have some history.
Jimin’s father, Yu Jiseok, is a very good friend and business partner of Kim Minhwang, Minjeong’s father.
That means the two girls grew up together their whole entire lives. They spent practically every day together, every time their fathers would meet up for business talk, or whatnot.
They never liked each other, though. They’ve always been enemies. Minjeong hated how Jimin would always tease her, and scare her with fake bugs. And Jimin? She liked her reactions. Even as they grew older and more mature, the word “friends” to them was not a way to describe their relationship.
But, their fathers still remain close friends, and that means Minjeong isn’t allowed to put Jimin through any sort of punishment, since she’d get in trouble by her own father. Jimin uses that to her advantage every chance she gets.
They can’t ever get away from each other, even if they tried. It’s like the universe just pulls them together for every single scenario.
Jimin’s on the basketball team, and guess who has to cheer at her games?
In all the classes they have together, they always are assigned to be next to each other.
At home, their fathers always somehow bring them together every time they discuss business.
They get no peace.
But oh, does Jimin make the best of it
“Just wanted to say hi!” Jimin says, giggling at the reaction on her face.
Minjeong looks her up and down, a look of judgement and disgust in her eyes. “Um… hello. What the hell are you wearing…?” she questions.
Jimin looks down at her outfit, (a letterman jacket paired with baggy jeans), before looking back at her in confusion.
“What about it?” She tilts her head.
“It’s just fucking ugly.”
Jimin places her hands on her heart in mock offence, making sure to dramatically gasp to really make it seem somewhat “believeable”.
“Oh, Minjeongie! You wound me!”
“Stop being so dramatic.”
Jimin responds by pulling her closer into an almost-side hug.
Minjeong scowls in return, grabbing her wrist and shoving her arm off her shoulders. “Don’t touch me.”
Jimin backs up, raising her hands in mock surrender. “Alright, alright,” she chuckles.
Minjeong’s gaze flickers up to the top of the troublemaker’s head, where there was a hat worn backwards. “Wear your hats properly, please.”
“Uh, why?”
“Because it’s against the rules, you idiot.”
“Since when do I give a damn about the rules, Kim.”
“Oh, right.”
Minjeong’s silent for a moment, before she blurts out another response, “It’s also really ugly.”
Jimin rolls her eyes, but can’t hide the amused smile plastered on her face. Minjeong amuses her way too much than she should. Something about the way her lips form this pout when she gets angr-
“Are you even listening to me?”
Jimin snaps out of her thoughts, her mind going back to reality to see said pout on her enemy’s lips. Her pretty, pink lips pursed out in a small, yet noticeable pout. Jimin bit her lip to prevent herself from bursting out laughing at how right her thoughts were.
When Minjeong sees the expression on her face, her pout instantly deepens, and she juts out her bottom lip even more.
Jimin absolutely loses it.
The laugh she so desperately tried to hold in comes out, and she starts dying. She’s completely out of breath as she tries to speak to the girl in front of her.
“Sorry! Ha, you just look too stupid. I couldn’t hold it in,” she laughs, bending over.
Minjeong’s ears and face both turn to a tint of red, and she raises her hand to give Jimin a slap on the shoulder. When her hand reaches her shoulder, though, she can’t help but hit her with a barrage of slaps.
“You fucking asshole!!!” she whines out.
When Jimin hears her, she stops laughing. Her jaw drops just a few centimeters, and she just stares at her in silence for a few seconds, before,
“HAHAHAHAHA!!!”
Jimin’s laughs echo through the hallways, causing everyone to turn to them in confusion. Minjeong’s face turns even redder in embarrassment, and her glare hardens.
“What the fuck, Jimin?!” she yells.
“You sound like a fucking baby!” Jimin manages to say, before lifting her hand up to wipe the tears from her eyes.
“It’s too cute,” she adds, smirking at her. But the moment her words leave her mouth, she regrets it
Minjeong’s face turns so red, she looks like she just got slapped in the face with a tomato. Jimin swears she could see steam coming out of her ears.
Oops
“Uh-oh…”
Jimin doesn’t wait, she turns around, and dashes down the hallway.
“GET BACK HERE, YOU BRAT!” Minjeong yells, sprinting after her.
