Work Text:
The first thing I felt as I woke up was the warm weight on my chest and stomach. The familiar weight of my girlfriend's head resting above my heart and her arm thrown over my waist. Her chest rose with her steady, shallow breaths. Her dark, messy hair covered half her face. As my eyes open, I could make out the sun peeking around the heavy curtains, though the room remained dark. I pulled my arm around her, the feeling of her bare skin against mine causing a feeling of tranquility to flow over me. These were the morning that I always looked forward too. The slow mornings where our bodies pressed together through the night, nothing between our skin. These were the mornings that felt like heaven.
I felt the shift as she rolled in my hold, pressing her back against me. I took the chance to slip my hand gently around her hips as I rolled with, coaxing her against my body, pressing together almost perfectly. Her skin was soft against mine, something almost angelic, although she was far from an angel. The marks that littered our bodies were evidence of that. The bruising hand prints along her thighs and throat, the bite marks that were a light purple along her light skin, even the almost black hickeys that trailed from her throat to her inner thighs. I blushed as I remembered the noises she'd made as I left them. The light throb in my throat reminded me that I had an imprint of her teeth in my skin that'd likely be there for a few days. I pressed a soft kiss to one of the many bite marks I'd left before pulling the blanket around her tighter, letting me slip away and out of bed. Maybe she'd stay asleep if she stayed warm. I dug in the basket of our clean laundry, finding a pair of simple black boxers and one of my favorite shirts. I slipped them both on, before heading out the door, opening and shutting the door quietly. I made my way down stairs carefully, bare feet padding along the floor.
I slipped open the back door, letting the 2 pups out to go potty before I head for the coffee pot. I started the pot, and grabbed our favorite mugs, prepping mine for the hot liquid and chuckling at the stark difference between us. While my favorite girl drank her coffee black, mine was almost half creamer. I heard the soft chirp from one of the cats as he hopped up on the counter, causing me to turn towards him. I ran my hand over him gently. I was so used to him but still so unused to him at the same time. Sometimes the hairless cats were off-putting. Still, I leaned down and pressed a kiss to his little forehead.
The beep of the coffee pot had my attention turning back to the life force that would raise Lexie from the dead. I poured both cups, the coffee steaming up my glasses. I dropped my head back, waiting patiently for my vision to return. Once I could see clearly, I grabbed both mugs, and headed to let the dogs back in. I carefully carry both mugs up the stairs, and push open the bedroom door, smiling at the sight of Lexie curled around the stuffed animal I gave her when we first started dating. Her hair was still a mess, lips parted just slightly as she slept. My heart throbbed slightly. I was fucking lucky as hell. How I'd found her, how she chose an absolute dumbass like me, was beyond me. I set the mugs on the nightstand before sitting gently beside her. I tenderly brush her hair away from her face, taking a moment to stroke my fingers across her cheek. She really was breathtaking.
Her nose scrunched up ever so slightly at the contact, the little crease between her eyes appearing. I traced my finger down the bridge of her nose, a soft smile across my lips. I found myself tracing my thumb over her bottom lip. Her lips parted as I moved across them, as if instinctively. I chuckled softly. I carefully cupped her face, running my thumbs up the sides of her nose and over her eyebrows before gently brushing across her eyelashes. Her hand came up, brushed over her eyes and she settled again. I leaned down, pressing soft kisses to her forehead and down her nose. I could feel the sleepy smile spreading across her face as I continued my path, planting a feather light kiss on the tip of her nose before planting a loving kiss on her lips. The feeling of her kissing back told me that she was waking up, so I pulled away gently.
“I've got coffee, princess.”
