Itadori in MHA

Summary:

Basically it’s going to be Itadori in my hero.

Duh

And I want this to be like super angsty and sad. And now that I’m in the fifth chap it switches between serious and funny cause I can’t be serious apparently.

I promise I think I’m a good writer, I got an A+ in English

Also chapters are really short because I can’t be bothered to write for more than an hour so I recommend doing the things where you can read them all at once so it feels longer yk

Notes:

Sooooo basically I got inspiration cause I was like on the toliet twirling my ginger pubes and I looked in the toliet and realized my shit lowkey looked like sukunas finger. I was like oh shit I’m gonna lock in and write my first fanfic. And so I started typing on my phone while shit was halfway out my ass ❤️

I’m 100% not gonna be consistent in posting and when my summer breaks over yall ain’t seeing me for awhile prolly.

English is liek my third language so don’t judge mistakes, have fun, give feedback Thansk sm

Also if you’re a zio get the fuck out of my fanfic

Chapter 1

Notes:

I combined the first two chapters cause they were way too short

Chapter Text

’Dead.

They’re all dead.

If only I didn’t eat that fucking finger.

If only I…

If only I was stronger.’

Were Itadori Yuji’s last thoughts before he passed out. He passed out in the very domain he created to finally kill him. Ryomen Sukuna. That first, somehow, brought him joy. Joy because he got to meet them.

Fushiguro
Nobara
Gojo-sensei
Everyone

And then,
They all died.

All because of him.

Sukuna.

The thing that first brought him joy. Then the thing that became the worst fucking thing to ever happen to him.

How ironic.

If only I didn’t eat that finger…

—————————————————————————

He woke up.

IMMEDIATE TEARS WAAHHHHH WAHHHH WAHHH
(I’m so sorry. Lowkey added this cause I don’t got enough words for a first chapter)

—————————————————————————

He, woke up. Again.

Staring at the blinding sun in his eyes, he realized it was finally over. He looked around and froze. “Why am I on a bench.”

This didn’t feel right.

NOTHING felt right.

It was like Japan. It was LIKE his home.

But everything was different.

It was like Japan, his home but it didn’t feel like home. It WASN’T his home.

There was no cursed energy and no curses. He sat up quickly, earning a stare from,

“Is that a dragonfly with a human body..?” He murmured, dumbfounded.

‘Is this hell.’ He thought.

Itadori did not know what to think. He is definitely panicking. His eyes, shifting from left, right, up, down, but never forward. He didn’t want to look forward. He didn’t want to see a future where, they, weren’t in it. He fell back onto the bench, curling up into a ball to try to protect himself from a truth he didn’t understand.

Earning a few more stares, he starts hyperventilating, tears on the verge of falling down.

But they won’t come down.

They CAN’T come down.

Because nothing felt real. He didn’t know what to feel.

His eyes roll back, where he passes out again. And this time, he begs he won’t wake up again.

Not here.

Not without them.

—————————————————————————-

Sadly, his begging did not work.

He woke up.

Again.

But this time, he woke up to the harsh lights of a hospital room, instead of the sun. Looking around the room he made eye contact with a nurse.

And of course she had orange skin. Because why wouldn’t she?

“Oh good, you’re awake,” she says in gravely, but oddly comforting voice. “I’m Nurse Nara, what’s your name?”

“Where am I.” Yuji demands, ignoring the question she asked. He knows he’s being rude, he knows he shouldn’t be acting like this. But he’s confused.

So so so confused.

He’s angry, he’s frustrated, he’s in pain, he’s in shock, but out of everything, he’s confused.

She looks at him with an odd look in her eye, with a smile that shows a lot. But most of all.

It shows pity.

Pity he doesn’t need because what he needs is answers.
And looking at him with a look like that, means she doesn’t have the answers he’s looking for. At least, not the answers to the important questions.

“You’re in Central hospital dear.”

He sighs, holding back every emotion trying to come out, trying to take over him.

“My name is Yuji Itadori.”

The nurse smiles at him, a soft smile. A smile that reminded him of a little too much of Kugisaki. The soft smile she would have on her face when she thinks no one’s looking.

But he knew better.

Kugisaki was dead.

And the nurse was nothing like her.

She could never be anything like his best friend.

And that smile was nothing like her smile. The smile she’d have on her face during not simple, but funnier, easier, times.

When it was the four of them.

But now it’s just him.

Alone

Again.

His eyes water. Tears threatening to fall.

But he won’t let them.

Not right now.

Nurse Nara leaves for a moment, which leaves Itadori staring at the wall. Thinking. Wondering. Questioning.

“What is going on…” he says, voice cracking, asking anyone, anything, that can give him an answer. Any answer.

After sometime, Yuji didn’t know how long, he couldn’t tell, he couldn’t care. The nurse walked back in with what appeared to be a homeless man.

(Lol for the plot)

“This is the man that brought you in. He’s a hero. You had a panic attack in the middle of the park.” She says, with that same soft smile. “Do you know what happend?” she asks.

Itadori looked at the man, his all black clothing, scruffy beard, bloodshot eyes, messy hair, strange yellow goggles, weird scarf thing.

Knowing he looks nothing like Nanami, he can’t help but be reminded of him. There’s no physical similarities, but the look in his eyes, those eyes that seem cold, annoyed.

But deep in those eyes,

just like Nanami.

There’s a sort of caring look in them.

The same look that his Nanami-Sensei gave him.

That Nanami-Sensei that died.

Right infront of him.

And he couldn’t do anything about it.

So this time, Yuji can’t help it.

He can’t do this.

Not without them.

Never without them.

He cries.

It starts with a few tears.

One by one,

Then turns into full blown sobbing.
Tears flooding out like he’s never cried a day in his life.
He’s wailing, snot dripping down his face, not caring about the two adults in the room.

He can’t care.

Not anymore.

Chapter 2

Notes:

I’ve realized these chapters are wayyyy to short so I’m combining the one I just posted and this one so there’s like an atleast 1000 words per chapter

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Nurse Nara and Aizawa, look at him with shock in their eyes.

The nurse immediately goes to Itadori’s side and tries comforting him, asking questions, trying to calm the poor boy down.

Aizawa, eyes wide, is very shocked.

And kind of scared.

Because what is he supposed to do in this situation.

————-woohoo small flashback time—————-

The underground hero was walking back to the park, after grabbing a coffee.

(I’m not making up a park for this shitty story)

Enjoying the somewhat peaceful, morning air,

He jinxes it because he spots a young boy from afar, and the boy immediately catches his attention considering he was showing clear signs of a panic attack.

Immediately, as a hero, he rushed over to the now unconscious boy and brought him to the Central Hospital, which was a minute or so away from the park.

The boy on his back was sweating and violently trembling, to a point where Aizawa was panicking.

He’s never seen a panic attack this bad.

Whatever happened to this kid is not normal and most definitely not ok.

As he bursts open the hospital doors, a nurse that was presumably, on her break, took one look at the kid on his back and immediately took him and did what nurses do.

(Idk man)

The underground hero waited in the lobby of the hospital, waiting to check on the teenage boy. Most of the time he wouldn’t bother, but he could tell this kid went through an experience no teenager should ever go through.

An experience nobody should ever go through.

After waiting for about an hour the nurse who took the boy from him, which he later learned her name as Nurse Nara, gestured for him to come check on the teen.

Aizawa, a little nervous follows the nurse to find the kid sitting and staring at the wall like it holds all the answers to his questions.

The kid turns to look at them and the hero stops for a moment.

The scars on his face.

The look in his eyes.

Something horrible happend to this kid.

His cheek was basically torn open, revealing some of his teeth. He had a large scar going from above his eyebrow to the middle of his nose.

His eyes.

They looked dead.

Or,

They look as though they have seen death.

He notices the nurse slightly introducing him but the kid freezes.

His eyes widened.

He starts at the hero for a moment,

And tears start flooding.

————————flashback over———————

Yuji falls unconscious. Again.

When he wakes up the homeless man from earlier is sitting on a guest chair in his room, sipping the shitty hospital coffee.

The underground hero notices the kid awake and immediately calls the nurse.

“Why are you here. Why am I here?” Aizawa hears a soft crackling voice ask, then he freezes.

“They’re all dead. All because of me. All because I wasn’t strong enough. It’s all my fault. I can’t do this anymore. I don’t WANT to do this anymore.”

Aizawa can’t tell if he’s talking to him or his self. But he can tell. This situation is a lot more important that he’d originally thought.

Letting the Nurse take care of of the teen and calm him down once more. Nurse Nara signals that she wants to talk to the hero in the hall.

He follows and realizes something is seriously wrong with this situation when she says, “I tried to find files on the kid, there isn’t a single person who’s been registered in Japan named Itadori Yuji. It could’ve been a mistake but I kept looking. There’s nothing. So either the kid is lying, which I don’t think is the case, or something’s happend. Something weird.”

Aizawa sighs, and calls up the detective, Tsukauchi, explains the situation and tells him to come to Central Hospital.

Aizawa then calls the smartest person, well, smartest thing, he knows and does the same.

After they arrive they introduce themselves to Itadori.

He looks absolutely shocked when the rat, mouse, bear, principal speaks but chooses to hold whatever he’s holding in, in.

—————————————————————————-

Is that a curse? No, it can’t be, it has no cursed energy.’ Itadori thinks.

Because there is no cursed energy.

Not in this place. This world.

The detective, who he learns is Naomasa Tsukauchi, starts asking him questions. Basic questions. Questions that make sense for his situation.

Except,

Something doesn’t feel right.

While Yuji is answering the basic, “What’s your name?” and “How old are you?”, questions, he feels like the detective is doing something. He doesn’t know, or understand what it is. But something was off.

“What’s your quick?” The detective asks.

“My quirk? What does that even mean?” The teen says, becoming more confused by the minute. Looking around the room, he sees all the adults + rat, looking at him with an unexplainable look in their eyes.

“Oh sweetie,” Nurse Nara starts, “you must have some sort of amnesia.”

Yuji thinks back, to all the memories that he created with them.

Memories he could never forget.

Memories he WILL never forget.

He starts getting annoyed, mad. “I do not have memory loss.”

The rat interjects, “I believe he’s right,”

Of course it can talk.

“I believe this is a situation far beyond our level of control.” It continues.

“Nurse Nara, I’m afraid this information might be confidential. Would you leave the room, if something happens we will call you.”

“No problem.” she says, understanding and exiting the room.

“Say, what year do you suppose it is?” The question is directed to Itadori.

“It’s 2020, right?” The tired boy trails off.

The adults in the room freeze a little at his words.

“Unfortunately for you it is currently January 26th,

2100.”

What

“What are you saying right now.” Itadori says as his voice trembles.

“I have speculations that you do not belong here.

Not just in Japan.

But in this world, this universe.”

Nezu states. “You don’t know what a quirk is, you are not on any registered medical files for the past century, you have outdated technology and clothing, and you did not lie once since we stepped into this room.”

“Yuji Itadori, you shouldn’t be here, at all.”

The rat finishes.

The boy is shaking.

Processing.

“What are you talking about.” Yuji stutters out, trying to make sense of what was just told to him.

He didn’t want to believe this. It made sense at a standpoint, but he couldn’t process it.

“My belongings,” he starts, “you said you saw that my technology was outdated.” His voice is shaking, his hands are shaking, he is not ok right now. “Where is my phone.”

Aizawa, who was listening to the conversation quietly, handed him a bag with clothing and his phone.

The boy immediately reached for his phone turning it on.

There on the Home Screen was a picture of him, with his arms around Nobara and Fushiguro, and Gojo-Sensei in the back giving his teammates, his family, those silly bunny ears. They’re all smiling, even Fushiguro, a small, almost imperceptible smile oh his face.

He sighs, a shaky one, holding back tears once again. He opens up apps on his phone showing them proof of his time. With dates proving his existence.

His existence in at least ‘his world’.

The underground hero in the room pulls out his own phone. A phone that looked way more advanced than the teens, furthering the sinking feeling in his stomach. The hero shows him dates, news, and time stamps that are undeniably from the year 2100.

Yuji doesn’t want to believe it.

He fought so hard, so much. He saw his ‘family’ die, one after the other. And after he finally killed the cause, he wouldn’t get to visit their graves. To honor them.

His family.

Communication is so fucking hard

Chapter 3

Summary:

So like I was gonna goon and then someone commented that they wanted another chapter so like frick you be grateful I’m such a good author and I listen to the masses (1 person)
I’d tag you or sum but idk how to do that and I forgot your name Yw enjoy

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Detective Tsukauchi left the room as his small ‘interrogation’ was over and he had a job to do.

“I don’t really know what a quirk is but you said it’s something like a ‘superpower’, right?” Itadori murmured after calming down. “I guess, I have something like that.”

So he explains about cursed energy, curses, and techniques. Because you wish im writing allat.

“How fascinating this is indeed.” Nezu states, his mind going over possibilities on how the boy supposedly both time and universe travelled.

“Although right now I can’t come to any conclusions about how this actually happened, if I figure something out.” Nezu goes on,

“In fact, you obviously have no place to go why don’t you stay with me for the time being so I could observe you and this phenomenon.”

Yuji, although now technically does not exist in this world can’t help but be wary.

“Uhm, sir(?)? I have no idea who or what you are. Why should I go with you?” He questions, skeptical of the thing.

“That makes sense!!! I am called Nezu, and I am the principal of U.A., a prestigious hero school. And I would like for you to join my school under my recommendation.” The rat keeps talking,

“I’m not sure if you noticed but if you’re planning on going back to your ‘world’, if you even can, you will need support.”

This makes the boy’s heart clench.

He doesn’t even know if he can go back to his home.

With how everything played out and as much as he’ll try to deny it, deep down he has lost most hope of going back already.

(Yo wtf my sister just woke up and she’s crying outside my door like gtfo and Gts goddam)

“I know you cannot trust either of us, so I’ll put you under the care of Shota over here. After all, he is the one that saved you and brought you here.” Nezu says.

Aizawa gives the hybrid a sharp glare and muttered a few curses under his breath.

“Kid, I know it must be tough but we can help with this.” The pro hero starts, “All we’re going to need is your cooperation and patience with us. You will probably be living with me for awhile if that’s all right with you.”

Itadori’s eyes are glossed over with tears as he speaks.

“I’ll stay with you for a bit, I guess. There’s nothing else I could do anyways.” He stares at his own fists clenching and unclenching.

“I’ll do whatever you ask too, just at least help me try to find a way back to my home. My world.”

“I’ll get my place guest ready then. I’ll come pick you up once the hospital dismisses you.” His now, temporary guardian says. “See you soon kid.”

After the hero leaves, Nezu asks a few more simple questions about his world, and explains a lot about how this world works.

“The entrance exams for U.A. are in about a month, before that I would like to test your combat prowess to see if you indeed would be a good fit for my school.” The bear explains.

“It seems you are getting released, I’ll be in touch with Aizawa.” It says as it waddles out the room.

Itadori nods as Nurse Nara comes in for a final checkup before his release.

“Your physical state is fine, a little malnourished but nothing concerning. What I’m worried about is your mental state. I recommend going to a therapist to help with your mental health.” The nurse explains, handing him a business card with a therapists name.

“Other than that you are good to go. All your belongings are in that bag. Your guardian is waiting in the lobby.” Nara says, escorting him out of the room.

“Thank you.” Yuji stammers out, bowing low in the process.

“No worries, goodbye!” She says waving as he walks to Aizawa’s side.

“All good kid? Let’s go.” The man gruffs out, a little annoyed he’s become a ‘babysitter’ for a clearly traumatized teen.

The ride to the man’s place was silent, neither really wanting to talk.

When they arrived, the hero gave Itadori a small tour.

“This is where you’ll be sleeping,” Aizawa starts, “It’s not much but it’s home.” He says, scratching the back of his neck.

Yeah right.

Home.

Like this could ever be his home.

This is just going to be a short living arrangement. Then he could go back to them.

Even if they’re dead.

He could at least have the comfort of watching over their graves.

Because they were his home.

And nothing could ever replace that.

Nothing.

Notes:

I don’t think I’m built for writing angst there’s too many times where I wanted to go unserious and as you can tell it’s been slipping out this might become a crack fic if I don’t lock in

Chapter 4

Summary:

I’m too nice for you guys but like I’m kinda scared I’m gonna get hit with the ao3 curse and just die or smth
So lowkey if I disappear I might be dead or just grounded

Chapter Text

Itadori went into ‘his’ room and just sat and thought.

The pro hero, not wanting to bother him closed the door and left him alone.

The first night in Aizawa’s home, Itadori could not sleep. It’s not that he couldn’t sleep. It’s that he wouldn’t.

He wouldn’t sleep easy knowing that all his friends are dead. And as much as he’d like to blame Sukuna, he knew.

He knew that it was his fault as much as it was Sukunas.

He ate that finger.

He decided he wanted to live instead of getting executed.

But now,

He’d do anything to turn back time and die.

Die so he could save everyone else.

Die so he wouldn’t have to feel like shit.

He laid down and the tears started flowing once more. Slowly, at first. Then, horrible sounds that only someone who went through terrible things could make.

Aizawa heard it, obviously. He didn’t have soundproofing, and he wasn’t deaf. The boy wasn’t trying to hide he cries.

(Lol that rhymed)

He wanted to go in and comfort the boy, but he has no idea what Itadori went through. They definitely weren’t already close enough for him to ask.

And frankly, he was horrible at comforting people. He’d probably make the kid cry more.

Aizawa sighed, going to sleep since he’d need to deal with that tomorrow.

————————————————————————-

“Come on Itadori wake upp.” He heard Nobara whine.

“We have a mission in an hour, get up and get ready.” Fushiguro said, in his usual monotone voice.

“UP UP 1 2 3,” Gojo-Sensei started, “YUJI YUJI.”

As much as Itadori knew, he could only pray that everything else that happend was a nightmare.

Just a nightmare and this was real, they were real.

But he knew better.

He looked at their faces once more, and woke himself up.

He couldn’t bare to give himself false hope. He wanted to see them,

but he wanted to really see them, not in some dream.

Because he knew better.

He knew they were gone.

And there was NOTHING he could do, to bring them back.

So only at night, in his dreams, will he see them again.

————————————————————————-

Yuji stared at the ceiling. He didn’t know how long, but he wasn’t ready to see them in his dreams knowing he’ll never see them again.

He stared and stared until he heard a faint meow coming from the hallway outside ‘his’ room.

(Ik every single mha fic says that aizawa has a cat but if everyone does it technically I’m not a fan yk)

He perked up, only realizing now that Aizawa has a cat.

He actually preferred cats over dogs, to the surprise of his friends. He liked how they were independent until their owner came around.

He slowly climbed out of the bed, checking the time, the small clock on the nightstand read ‘6 42’.

He opened the door and a fluffy white cat walked into his room uninvited. Not that he really cared.

The cat had one eye, the other eye was probably lost in an accident. He checked the collar and the cats name was ‘Gege’.

The cat jumped onto his bed and just laid there.

The boy carefully closed the door and sat down next to the cat. He let it sniff has hand before patting it gently. The suns rays were peaking through the blinds,

so he sighed, a sigh of relief of some sort.

This was the most peaceful he’s been since he ‘travelled’ worlds.

So he simply sat there stroking the cat and basking in the sun until he had to move

(Not like that perverts meow godamn)

Chapter 5

Summary:

Ts took me way to long to finally conjure up I hate everything and school starts in less than a week kill me kill me

Notes:

Yo so I lowkey slapped the shit of my sisters face today cause she pissed me off so bad but I kinda missed and only hit her with my finger tips but now I kinda wish I either actually slapped her or socked the shit out of her face should I feel bad cause I really don’t I wanna do it again I hate her ahahah…

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Itadori laid there, petting the cat for who knows long. It truly was as peaceful as he’s been in a good minute (definitely way more than a minute).

Remembering that he’s human, he got up and winced a little. “Holy fucking shit I’m about to piss myself…” he whispered to himself.

The cat, sensing he was about to leave, beat him to it and left the room. Not after bumping into the door frame, you know, cause he’s half blind.

Itadori didn’t laugh at that, but he felt for a moment a small bitter sense of happiness.

He wandered the apartment (I forgot whether I decided he had a house or apartment idc rn icl ts pmo sybau 💔🥀) since he was a little embarrassed to ask Aizawa where the bathroom was. The man probably told him yesterday but Yuji 100% was out of it and was not listening.

On his journey to the toliet he almost stepped on the said man laying on the floor. Why was he laying on the floor? Itadori’s thoughts were going wild, thinking that worse of the situation. He didn’t need one of the only people he knew in the strange world dying. He felt that everyone he ever got close to, or tried to get close to died, his friends being perfect examples. As he was panicking, he realized the man on the floor was perfectly alive and well and was staring at him with…is he judging him?

What really happened was Aizawa tripped and fell and decided that laying there was better then getting up. He stayed there for god knows how long and almost got stepped on.

(I wish aizawa would step on me holy shit he’s so fine there’s something about the tired dad look that’s so sexy like him with the man bun when bakugo got kidnapped bro I licked the screen)(sorry)

“Kid what the hell are you doing.” The tired man mumbled.

Itadori was shocked. “What am I doing? You’re the one passed out on the floor. Well, I thought so atleast.” He lowkey shouted at the man.

Aizawa’s eyes softened a little at that and sighed. He realized the kid didn’t try to step on him on purpose cause he hated his guts for no reason at all. He was just worried.

The pro hero got up, wiped the dirt of his back and walked off like nothing happened.

Itadori, so close to pissing himself, decided to ignore whatever the hell just happened and finally relieve himself.

After doing his business he realized Aizawa didn’t just walk off and lay down somewhere else. He actually made breakfast. Yuji didn’t think the man could cook but hey he traveled worlds so anything Could be possible. He looked at the clock and it was actually ‘2 01’.

Itadori sat across from his new guardian and picked at the food. It’s not like he wasn’t hungry, he just didn’t have an appetite right now, even if he barely ate anything in the past day or so.

“Nezu said that your first physical prowess testing will be tomorrow at 4.” Aizawa said, half dead, as always probably.

“Alright.” Yuji murmured out, still picking at his food.

The older man sighed. “If you don’t like the food I can get you something else but you have to eat something.” He said, noticing the boys reluctance to eat.

“Nono it’s fine,” he said quickly, not wanting to offend one of the only people who even know of his existence in this world. “I can’t promise I’ll eat all of it though.”

The older man hmed(?),

“That’s fine, just eat.”

And the table returned to silence aside from the occasional small noises.

—————————————————————————

The rest of the day passed by like a blur.

Itadori didn’t really do anything.

He didn’t really know what to do.

He didn’t want to build a new life and forget the old one. He’d rather kill himself.

And he knows no one’s expecting him to warm up very quickly. But it’s like they don’t really have hope he can make it back to his own home.

He spent his day on his bed learning about this world while in the company of his favorite thing in this world, the cat duh.

Notes:

I’m dead fucking tired gn like my eyes are shutting while im typing this i finally got this chap out but it’s kinda short.

Chapter 6

Summary:

I didn’t abandon this I promise guys it’s just that I started English and we already have to write a lot and I hate it.
So in honor of hitting 1000 hits I’m updating! Isn’t this crazy!! Even though I hit 1000 hits awhile ago!!!

Chapter Text

It was the next day and Yuji was getting ready for the physical testing the rat is going to put him through.

Although he doesn’t really know Nezu that well, he can tell he’s not going to like this.

For the first time since he entered this world he took a long shower. Itadori stood under the burning hot water and just let it trickle down his body.

Itadori felt that everything was pointless. And as much as he thinks about killing himself. He wouldn’t do it. No matter what happens. Nothing could be worse.

He won that final battle for his family. And he’s going to carry that burden so long as he dies of natural causes.

For them.

For everyone’s lives that were lost to the hands of Sukuna because he couldn’t get the curse under control.

Yuji sighed and shut off the water, getting out, and drying himself completely. He grabbed the only clothes he owns and went outside to Aizawa’s car.

“You’ve barely eaten anything since you got here.” The hero said, throwing him a banana and a protein bar. “Atleast eat those so you can have some energy.”

Itadori knew the man was right. He was lowkey starving himself like a highschool girl that thinks she’s fat. (IM SORRY DONT BITE ME I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY DONT DROP THE STORY)

He slowly ate the ‘meal’ and sat with Aizawa in silence as they drove to the UA grounds.

Once they got there the man swiped his pass looking thing and they entered.

It seems like they were walking forever. Taking a number of twists and turns until they got to a changing room.

“There shouldn’t be anyone in there. We got a UA designed tracksuit for you to wear during the testing. It’s in the locker room. Quickly change.”
The tired pro hero stated.

Itadori nodded his head and went to change.

The tracksuit was hideous, in his opinion. But he put it on anyways and followed Aizawa to the biggest room he’s ever seen. And there, the demon was waiting…

“Welcome!” The bear chirped enthusiastically. “I will give you a series of exercises for you to do and we will compare your results to other student’s results from the past.”

There was 8 tests; the 50-meter dash, grip strength, standing long jump, repeated side steps, ball throw, a distance run, sit-ups, and a seated toe-touch test.

“You can use your ‘powers’ to help you on these tests.” Aizawa explained.

Itadori’s results were as followed:
50-meter dash - 2.67 seconds (hahah 67)
Grip strength - 413 kg
Standing long jump - 19 meters
Repeated side steps - 98
Ball throw - 695 meters
Distance run - Indefinite
Sit-ups - 101
Seated toe touch - 71cm

(Tell me what you think his acc results would be and I’ll prolly change it cause idek if some of these are possible these are lowkey random numbers)

“That was brilliant!” The mouse exclaimed. “I’ll have you come back another day to see how you fight in combat. If you show promising results there, I have no doubts you’ll strive for however long you will be in the hero class 1A.”

“Thank you?” The boy said, not really caring about the ‘hero class’.

“You’re welcome! I’ll see you again in 2 days at 4 again.” The rodent chirped out while walking away to wherever it lives.

“Let’s go kid.” Aizawa said while giving him a look of approval.

Yuji nodded and followed the man to his car, not forgetting to change back into his homeless clothes before leaving.

“Tomorrow, we’re going to get you new clothes.” The hero said, eyeing the somewhat torn clothes.

“Ok.”

Chapter Text

It was the next day and Itadori woke up feeling sort of refreshed.

He didn’t know if it was because he did some exercise for the first time in a while.

Maybe it was because his stinky ass finally showered.

Or maybe something else, all he knows is that he’s feeling better.

Itadori had been sleeping in Aizawa’s old T-shirt and sweats.

He remembered that yesterday Aizawa said that they’d get him new clothes. So he shrugged his ‘pajamas’ off and put on his only pair of actual clothes.

As wrecked as the clothes were, it was his Jujutsu high uniform. He had made so many amazing memories in those clothes that he could never get rid of them. They were also one of the only things he brought from his world into this one.

He’d probably try to get another pair of the uniform, but copied and not altered.

“This is going to be the first time you’re properly around the people of this world, and as you know it’s likely to have many differences. If you start to feel like you need anything at all you tell me right away. Understood?” Aizawa says sternly.

“Yeah.” Itadori responds as they walk to the car and start leaving.

Yuji respected the underground hero. He could tell that he’s a hard worker who gets to the point.

It reminds him of their first proper interaction in the hospital.

Aizawa really did resemble Nanami in the simplest of ways. It was as if the universe was playing a cruel joke on him.

Itadori isn’t dumb.

He knows that in the foreseeable future, he’s going to meet people, who are like the people he knew.

It’s logic really.

It’s not like there could be that many completely different personalities in not one, but two different worlds. There’s going to be people he meets who are going to be similar to people from his past, whether he likes it or not.

The car stops at one of the biggest shopping malls the boys ever see.

“Holy shit.” He exclaims in awe.

“Language.” The older man scolded as he starts walking into the mall.

Itadori hesitantly follows.

The mall is packed with bustling teens and parents shopping for whatever. The variety of ‘species’ walking around like the average human makes Yuji want to puke.

He tries staying close to Aizawa as he might cry if he gets lost. Might.

They walk around the mall together, stopping by stores and getting casual clothes. Nothing expensive or fancy, just T-shirts, sweats, hoodies, and athletic wear for the UA training.

They’ve walked around in mostly silence so far, both of them not quite comfortable around each other to talk causally.

They stop to get some ‘All Might’ burgers, before heading back to Aizawas house.

“One day…” Itadori suddenly mutters out, probably initiating a conversation with the man since the first time they met, “do you think I can go home.”

Aizawa stops and turns to look at him. The hero’s eyes are soft, the boy who has clearly gone though so much. He’s asking what would be a simple question to anyone else, but might be the most confusing question for him.

“I don’t know kid.” Aizawa answers honestly, “Nothing in life is certain. Even if you work as hard as you can, do everything needed of you, you won’t be able to complete everything you want to complete.”

Itadori looks dejected, a hopeless look in his eyes.

“I’m not saying it’s impossible, I’m saying this is something no one can answer for now.”

It was the brutal truth, Yuji knew it.

But he couldn’t help feeling a little broken inside at the man’s response. He liked how he didn’t lie and try giving him false hope, it’s what he needed to hear right now.

He can still feel sad about it.

“Thank you.” Itadori says quietly, retreating to ‘his’ room.

He laid down on the bed and shut his eyes, a small tear slipping out.

Chapter Text

The next day Itadori and Aizawa went to see Nezu again, this time to discuss the teen’s future.

“The school year officially starts in 21 days, exactly 3 weeks. You will be put in Aizawas class, 1-A.” Nezu stated. “I take it upon you to atleast learn some of the basic laws and norms of this world. As you are still adjusting, I recommend learning the middle school level curriculum of history and quirk use/laws lessons. And I hope on everything that maths, languages, and sciences are the same on both our worlds, but after looking at your bodies composition with the DNA we extracted from you from the hospital, I conclude it’s extremely similar, if not the same. Aizawa will provide you with the right information and materials during these 3 weeks, and he will help with any questions you have. We are currently looking on ways to send you back. But for now, I look forward to seeing how you fair as a hero. As you might hear a lot from here on now, go beyond, plus ultra.”

“Thank you sir.” Itadori replies, not excited to study. Even in an entirely different world, he still has to do school work.

—————————————————————————-

The first week of Yujis solo studying sessions were a mess.

Atleast for the quirk laws.

He didn’t want to bother Aizawa with stupid questions with answers that are probably very easy. But the laws baffled Itadori so badly.

Like what are you talking about you can get in trouble for defending yourself with something you were literally born with.

He just found it so dumb.

Yuji also decided to research some of the popular hero’s. And holy shit what they were wearing was ugly.

There’s genuinely no way people feel safe when they see a big, burly, buff, blonde man dressed completely in the most ugly spandex you’d ever see.

Not to mention one of the top 10 hero’s in Japan at the moment is a literal washing machine.

But for Itadoris sake he decided against researching hero’s anymore.

More or less the earlier parts of history were the same so he didn’t have too much trouble with that. There was some differences with major political leaders having quirks but nothing too drastic of a change.

Although there was an extra 100 years he needs to learn about, it was a rather mild and tame 100 years compared to 1900-2000 as an example.

Before the end of the week, Aizawa proposed they go on runs early in the morning. It was to not only get Yuji familiar with this world, but to also get more comfortable with the older man.

They didn’t really speak, but there was less tension and now a sense of familiarity between them.

The second week of his studying sessions included more of the same stuff.

He got most of the history down the first week.

But Itadori himself quoted, “I’d rather get brutally fucked in the ass by 7 big men than continue doing this.” when talking about quirks.

His words not mine.

Itadori wanted to look back into sciences and maths because Jujustu High didn’t teach much of that in the first place. Maths was, as always, relatively straightforward.

(I love math if you can’t tell)

But of course, middle schoolers had to learn about not only biology, but also an entire different unit of quirk biology.

Which was completely different for no apparent reason.

So basically Yuji was sort of fucked considering he had to get this all down in 3 weeks, 2 now.

He decided on writing down all his questions and giving them to Aizawa during the third week.

Speaking of Aizawa, they really hadn’t talked much. Like at all.

The only time Itadori saw the man was when they were eating food or during their morning runs. And even then they barely spoke. Usually the man was out doing what Yuji guesses is ‘hero work’. Or maybe even getting ready for the next school year considering the guy is a teacher.

During the final week before the new school year, Itadori gave Aizawa the list of questions.

“I had a few questions about some things, so I was wondering if you could answer them.” Itadori asked as they were eating dinner.

Aizawa took one look at the ‘few questions’ on the paper, and help back the biggest sigh of his life. Because there was in fact not a few questions, but an astonishing 213.

It also didn’t help at all that the boys handwriting was borderline atrocious.

The pro hero rubbed his temples, seemingly predicting the oncoming headache this was going to cause him and nodded his head.

“Sure kid, just give me a couple of days.”

And for once Itadori had something aside from a grimace on his face.

It wasn’t exactly a smile, not even close, but the kid definitely looked way less miserable at that.

As the days rolled on by, Itadori got his 213 answers back, to which he studied, and it was now currently his first day of school.

Yayyyyyyyy.

So exciting… but that’s gonna be next chapter lol
