Riddle walked through the sand carrying a towel and umbrella in his arm. He stared at the ocean, the waves crashing against the sand. He breathed in some of the salty air. The warm sun made the beach very calming. That was until Floyd ran past him and jumped into the water.
“Come on Goldfishie. The water feels so nice,” Floyd splashed around in the waves. Riddle had finally agreed to go on a beach date with Floyd due to the nice weather. The red head laid out his towel and set up the umbrella before sitting to apply sunscreen. The now drenched Floyd made his way over and sat next to Riddle.
“Whatcha doing Goldfishie?”
“Applying sunscreen. Unlike you Floyd, my skin is susceptible to UV damage.”
“Oh. Can I have some?”
“I suppose you could. Just hold still.” Riddle helped Floyd apply the sunscreen the best he could. He gently rubbed it into Floyd's back as the eel fidgeted with sand.
As soon as they were finished, Floyd bolted back into the ocean. Riddle slowly followed and stood ankle deep, soft waves splashing his legs. He watched as Floyd ran around jumping over and into waves. Floyd had an almost childlike excitement to him when on the beach. Riddle was glad his boyfriend could be in his element. He was pulled from his thoughts when Floyd brought him deeper.
“Where are we going Floyd?”
“Past the wave break. I know Goldfishie wanted to relax. You can just float out there and there are no seashells stabbing your feet.”
Riddle's face softens before smiling. “Okay.”
The two floated on their for a while backs, watching the clouds. The spot was in fact very relaxing. Floyd was playing with Riddle's fingers as they floated in an attempt to not accidentally splash Riddle. The red head looked at him and got an idea.
“Hey Floyd.”
“Yeah?” Floyd turned his head only to be met by a splash of water in his face. Riddle chuckled softly.
“Oh, you're on.” Floyd dove into the water and picked Riddle up, spinning him around in the water. The two jumped around splashing each for what seemed like hours. At one point, Floyd trapped Riddle again and started attacking his face with kisses. To which Riddle responded with pulling the other into a proper kiss.
“I love you, Floyd” Riddle placed a gentle kiss on his cheek.
“I love you, too, Riddle.” Floyd smiled back at him. Riddle's heart always warmed a little extra when Floyd used his real name to show how serious he was. At least that's what he was thinking before he got pushed under water by a stray wave.
Time flew by and Riddle was now under his umbrella as the ocean water slid off his body onto his towel. He closed his eyes with a soft smile. Floyd may have more energy than him, but he still enjoyed himself. He felt something warm and wet on his stomach and opened his eyes. Floyd had laid down and rested his head on Riddle's stomach as he curled up. Floyd placed gentle, almost sleepy kisses on Riddle's bare stomach. Riddle placed his hand in Floyd's hair and closed his eyes again, the setting Sun warming them both.
