Chapter Text

Seoli stared at the blank page of her notebook, random lines and dots in the margin. No ideas were coming to her mind.

She was supposed to be working on a song for her groups newest album, but for the first time in a while, she was drawing a blank. She sighed, slamming the notebook shut and setting it next to her on her bed. She held her knees to her chest, letting out a frustrated groan. She had already used all her go-to ideas.

She heard a soft knock on her door, quickly turning her head towards it. The door opened slightly, Rouge peaking her head into Seoli's room. "You doing okay?" She asked, her voice flat, but genuine. "Yeah, I'm fine..." Seoli replied sarcastically, pressing her pen on the side of her head. "You sound the farthest thing from fine, Li." Rouge stepped into the room, folding her arms across her chest. Her long red hair was in a low ponytail, hanging over her shoulder. She was wearing a plain black shirt, half tucked into dark grey sweatpants.

"I told you not to call me that" Seoli snapped back, crossing her legs and sitting upright. "Someone's in a bad mood..." Rouge teased, walking over to Seoli's bed, sitting on the edge next to her. "Get out of my room, I'm busy!" Seoli grabbed a pillow that was next to her, swinging it at Rouge's shoulder. "Jeez... Busy doing what? Staring at a blank page?" She remarked, tapping the cover of Seoli's notebook. She snatched it away from Rouge's hand. "Busy thinking! I just ran out of ideas, that's all." She retorted. "...That's easy, just write a corny love song." Rouge suggested, half joking. She stood up, stretching her arms. "That's stupid." Seoli said
"That's why I suggested it."

With that, Rouge walked out of the room, not even bothering to close the door. Seoli stared at the open door for a moment, before groaning, standing up and walking towards it. As the door clicked shut, Rouge's words replayed in her head. She never wrote a love song, and she didn't know if it was because she never loved anyone or she was just unlovable. She walked back to her bed, picking up her notebook and staring at the cover. "I'll do it later" She thought to herself, tossing it on her nightstand. She flopped down on her bed, staring at the fluorescent ceiling light. She squinted, sighing in mild frustration. She had nothing else to do today.

She might as well get some fresh air.

She reluctantly stood up from her bed, walking towards her dresser, opening a drawer and picking out an outfit.
It was a simple outfit, but a good one. She was wearing a black tank top, dark blue jeans with black patches, and black and red arm warmers, covering the patterns on her arms. Her long white hair was in a loose, low bun, with a simple black baseball cap, casting a light shadow on her face.

------

As she stepped outside, she was practically blinded by the bright sun, squinting and shielding herself with her arms like a vampire who hadn't seen the outdoors in decades. Once her eyes adjusted to the light, she began to walk to nowhere in particular. She stared at her shoes, avoiding eye contact with people on the sidewalk. Eventually, she stepped into a random convenience store, sighing in relief as a wave of cold air washed over her. She walked down aisles, not paying much mind to anything there. She was just there to pass time.

She passed by the keychain section, eyes lingering as her steps slowed. She forced her eyes away, returning to her regular pace. She had no money on her, let alone money at all. She left the store with a disappointed sigh, squinting as the sun beat down on her.

After a few minutes of walking, she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. She rolled her eyes as she pulled her phone out, squinting at the screen, trying to read the contact name.

"Red 🦇"

Rouge...

She shielded her phone screen with her free hand, somehow managing to see the "answer" button and click it.

"Heyyy!" Rouge's voice sing-songed from the phone.
"Why are you calling me?" Seoli asked, putting a hand on her hip. "I don't need a reason." She paused before admitting "...When are you coming back?"

"I'll be there soon, you don't have to worry about me, I'm not 5."

"You basically are."

"Thats not- whatever... I'll be back in a few minutes, bye."

"Wait-"

With that, Seoli hung up, shovin her phone back in her pocket and continued walking.

Her mind drifted, to nothing in particular, just... Anything.

Was she really unlovable?

Why was she suddenly in writers block?

Is anyways a word?

She was soon brought back to reality, walking right into someone. Not just bumping shoulders. She fully just walked right into someone, knocking their bag out of their hand. "Shit...Sorry..." The person muttered.

"No, it's my fault..." Seoli quickly replied, reaching down to pick up their bag. "I should've been watching where I was going."

She handed the person their bag, locking eyes with them. They were a girl, with beautiful caramel brown eyes, and black hair, styled in 2 braided buns. Her eyes lingered for longer then needed. before the girl began walking away.

----------

Seoli flopped into her bed, staring at the ceiling as she sunk into the sheets. She eventually sat up, pulling her hair out of the bun she put it in, running her hand through it. That girl she saw... She seemed familiar...

But she was probably just imagining things.

Her hand grazed her forearm, brushing over the patterns, tracing over them, anything to distract herself, or really just to waste time. There were still a few hours left in the day, unfortunately. Maybe she'd go to sleep early today.

Her eyes landed on the notebook on her nightstand. She reached for it, flipping through the paged mindlessly. She stared at the page she failed to fill, running a finger over the doodles in the margin

Maybe she had an idea now. Maybe.
