Bang Bang

Summary:

Giyuu could swear and even affirm that less than half a second ago when he blinked was in the vast gardens that led to the Ubuyashiki Mansion, not some city with a structure he didn't know and people with clothes that definitely don't seem to have anything to do with Japanese traditions.

"Excuse me, do you know where part of Tokyo we are?" He asked. The man looked at him strangely.

"Tokyo? You're in Osaka, man." Giyuu didn't expect that answer. Nor that he wasn't in the Taisho Era anymore.

Where Giyuu ends up in the modern era with something called "superheros" and has to face the challenges of a society he doesn't know.

Chapter 1

Notes:

I wrote this while having blocks for my other works, drawing Damian Wayne and in my free work time, so my writing is probably odd...

Chapter Text

Tokyo, Japan, 1914.

When Giyuu said that he hoped that morning would be a normal day, he immediately condemned himself, Although he doubts that if he had not longed for such a thing anything would have changed.

He wasn't a very positive person, so he also knew that nothing would have changed if he thought his day would be a complete mess and he wouldn't get anything done anyway because every day was exactly the same. Unless Tanjiro showed up, that boy changes and makes an U-turn on everyone's life.

That day was no exception to the rule - until that moment it had fulfilled his wish - he had finished a mission that took him three days of not being available and he was exhausted, the demon was more cunning and slipped away like a rat at every opportunity, it was not a difficult task but it was annoying and he had to make enormous efforts to use the rational side and not the emotional one.

When he decapitated the demon and returned with his mission accomplished -and without more victims, another win for Tomioka- he expected to rest on his state as a good reward for his great work, but no, fate put an obstacle in his way.

Kanzaburo arrived while announcing with his typical crow sound "caw caw" and fluttered in the air with such a cheerful mood that Giyuu felt calmer and his violence decreased "Hashira meeting! Urgent meeting!" And more screams that clarified what was happening while heading towards the black-haired man's shoulder, as usual. And as it deserved, the bird got some of the food that Giyuu was eating.

«A Last minute Hashira meeting» he thought, remembering that not long ago they had met to give the Hashira Training. He wondered if there would be any progress regarding that when he decided to stay out of the situation, Even though if it had to do with it, it should be his concern as well.

It was then that he set off on a somewhat calm walk, despite being somewhat far away, it would not do him any good to rush or arrive tired.

His walk was calm and he was not so far from the incredible gardens that the Ubuyashiki Mansion offered. And there he felt it.

A rough sound that pierced his ears and hurt, it was a pain that stuck in his mind, then he feels that his body is too heavy and that at any moment it will explode, as if his limbs were stretching. He doesn't know what it is but he wants it to stop.

It takes him a single blink, because by the time Giyuu's about to make the maneuver of brandishing the katana and moving his feet to attack, he was not in the vast gardens of the Mansion, but in what he could distinguish as some alleys in a rather dark area, could it have been a demon? Fuck no, he was with the sun already in sight.

Panic filled his eyes, it had to be a demon, it was the only explanation he could find for why he was sent to a random place, another could be that he fainted and was in one of those dreams , but he's sure that he is not sleeping, he recognized what he dreamed, he always did.

He put his katana back into its sheath as he sighed to calm himself down. If he hurried, he could reach the Mansion because he wanted to think that they weren't attacking the Mansion. He wanted to believe that they weren't, but his terror was gigant.

When he left there, his deep fear went through a few different emotions.

First, there were structures that he would assume were houses and eating places made of concrete and too square, and what were those tiny machines walking in the middle of the streets? Were they futuristic cars? He knew there were cars, but they weren't that... modern.

He felt so confused and bewildered because people were wearing clothes that weren't traditional at all and were almost totally relaxed, some of them showed a lot of skin, he wasn't nosy but he seemed to be in the middle of a totally unknown society. Then he felt uncomfortable because even though people weren't paying attention to who he was enough to look at him, he didn't understand what was happening.

He had even seen a lot of people speaking in another language. For a moment he thought he was in the United States of America, but it wasn't possible, there were too many Japanese people.

«maybe they're foreigners. That's must be » He thinked, more to calm himself than for objective about reality

There wasn't a second, luckily for him. Although he was totally confused, how was he supposed to get to the Mansion if he didn't know where he was? He should ask where in Tokyo he was, because he doubted the Demon Blood Art had sent him out of Japan.

His chest began to breathe unevenly and he knew he had to calm down; he shouldn't have an attack in the middle of a city he doesn't know, much less make a scene. Hopefully his clothes would go less unnoticed and he could keep a low profile.

Tokyo, Japan, 2025

A loud bang on the table echoed throughout the room, and despite everyone's unconfused looks, she was confused that they didn't react.

- Let's review this again, ne? - it was more a statement than a question, and her not-so-warm smile let them know she was speaking from her growing anger - They let a stranger who, for the moment, is just a nonknown not intelligent man; steal from Lord Ubuyashiki's laboratories, assemble an unrecognized artifact, and make a dimensional trip that we know nothing about. And this was hidden from us? -

The white-haired guy at her side, who had not spoken as usual, glanced at his superior, who seemed unfazed by Shinobu's attempts to appear imposing. .

«Fucking asshole» he thought. His superior's decision and old man were stupid, and if it weren't for the fact that his rule is not to kill, he would have strangled him with an elastic bracelet.

His superior -supervisor, rather, a damn idiot- adjusted his glasses while, with the most hideous smile possible, he answered "We didn't think it was important because he didn't steal anything really important. And we do not know any record of any activity with the artifact until today with the sun barely rising.

The room fell silent again as they processed what had been said.

- There was a gravity disturbance in the area where he used the device and he was on the run, we must raid the abandoned workshop where he experimented with all this! - she shouted again, her smile had disappeared and she used nothing more than a stern look that looked like if she was going to explode at any moment.

Sanemi stopped her as he glared with greatly suppressed rage, staring at the supervisor, and his expression didn't change much when his superior stopped smiling.

- Shinobu is right. Tell us, lovely superior, do we now ignore theft? Do we also allow a stranger to come without identification and access a private place?  -

- That was not-

- It doesn't matter what it was! The Master ordered that all suspicious actions be reported to us, and you decided to keep quiet until there was a madman playing hide and seek with an artifact of dubious stability traveling through wormholes! - He hit the table, only this time, the force destroyed the wood.

The superior could not exclaim anything more, then the doors of the meeting room opened with a roar that echoed off every wall of the place. "The Master is here" announced the attendants, and immediately the shouts ceased, long before anything else could be exclaimed.

It was going to be a long meeting.
