It was a grey morning in Australia, and the air was warm. The worker drones had just started their shift in Elliot Manor; the owners woke up, ate their breakfast, and continued with their daily routines. But J noticed that something was missing… Where was Tessa?
She snuck around, looking for the Elliot girl in different rooms and corridors, but she couldn’t find her anywhere, besides… wait, she didn’t check Tessa’s room!
Maybe she didn’t leave because J checked in on Tessa earlier this morning, and she was still sleeping.
J made her way to Tessa’s room, knocking on the door. “Boss? It’s me, J.”
“Come in,” Tessa replied immediately, her voice sounding weary.
J creaked the door open, seeing Tessa lying on her bed again. She came over, “Why are you not out of bed? Are you ill?”
Tessa looked up at her drone with half-lidded eyes. “No, I’m not ill.”
“Then what is it?”
“J, I’m on my period.”
“... What?”
Tessa sighed, trying her best to describe a period to a robot. “It’s a… female bodily function that happens with teens and women once a month for about a week, and today I just started.”
“So… what happens when you’re on your period?” J asked, sitting on the bed. “Do you get the illusion of feeling ill?”
“No… My organs cramp and I feel pain…” Tessa continued. “Like… I bleed between my legs, it’s disgusting, but I have sanitation stuff so I’m good, I won’t bleed through my clothes and shit…”
J squinted her optics, then widened them. “I’m… I’m sorry! Is there anything I can do to make you feel better?”
Tessa's eyes lit up, “Yeah, could you… Come closer?”
J raised a glowing eyebrow, “What do you mean?”
“Like… get in bed with me. Holding someone makes me feel better.” Tessa replied.
J shook her head, confused. But she climbed into bed with Tessa, helping her. “Like this?”
Tessa hugged her drone from behind, snuggling against J’s dress. “Yes, perfect…”
J and Tessa lay in silence, listening to the hum of J’s motor. As Tessa rested, J couldn’t help but feel a bit more heated. Did she… like her..?
