Chapter Text
The concert was over, but the adrenaline hadn’t left Heeseung’s system yet. As soon as they returned to the hotel, all he wanted was food and a quiet moment with Sunoo.
They’d made a plan, dinner in Heeseung’s room, then maybe a round or two of Mario Kart on the Switch he’d packed just for this trip. It wasn’t anything special, but it was exactly what he needed after the chaos of the stage.
Sunoo had gone to shower first. While Heeseung waited for him, a familiar itch crept in, the urge to connect with fans, just for a little while.
So he set up his phone and opened Weverse Live.
“Hi, Engenes,” he greeted, waving casually. His voice was soft but warm. “The concert just ended not long ago… I’m still so full of energy.”
He sat on the chair, chatting easily. He thanked fans, talked about Osaka’s crowd, and how hot it was.
He wasn’t sure how much time had passed. Maybe five, maybe ten minutes, when there was a knock at the door.
Expecting maybe a staff member, he got up and padded over quietly.
When he opened it, he blinked in surprise.
Standing there in soft pajamas and damp hair, holding two plastic bags of dinner, was Sunoo.
Heeseung’s eyes widened. “Babe,” he whispered urgently. “I did not expect you to shower so fast.. I’m on Weverse Live right now.”
Sunoo frowned, clearly caught off guard. “What? I thought we were eating together? Yuki hyung brought the food to my room instead.” He held up the bags, pout already forming.
Heeseung bit back a grin and took the bags from him. “Just sit on the bed. I’ll end it in a bit, okay?”
Sunoo let out a small huff and walked inside, settling wordlessly on Heeseung’s bed with his phone in hand.
Back on camera, Heeseung returned with a casual smile, lifting one of the bags into frame. “My dinner’s here,” he said simply, pretending nothing unusual had happened. He set one plastic bag behind the camera (Sunoo’s meal) and placed his own in front of the screen. He pulled out his food and held it up. “I ordered udon and donburi.”
He kept chatting, this time about how he had actually been sick before the concert day and how hard he tried to recover in time. But after a while, his focus started to slip.
Every few moments, he felt a stare, Sunoo glancing up from his phone with increasingly obvious looks, silently trying to say: Wrap it up. I’m here. I’m hungry. You promised.
Heeseung cleared his throat and tried not to smile too hard. Another two minutes passed. When he peeked over again, Sunoo had stopped pretending to scroll and was now just lying on his side with his eyes closed, facing the wall.
Guilt tugged at him.
He turned back to the camera with an apologetic smile. “Alright, Engenes. I’m gonna go eat now. Thanks for spending time with me. Love you guys, talk to you again soon. Bye bye~”
He ended the live and set his phone on the nightstand.
The room felt quiet again.
Heeseung climbed onto the bed and crawled over until he reached Sunoo’s side. Gently, he leaned down and kissed his lips, just once.
“Did I make you wait too long till you fell asleep? I’m sorry, baby,” he whispered, voice low with guilt. He trailed soft kisses along Sunoo’s cheek, temple, and forehead.
Sunoo opened one eye and turned to face him with a dramatic sulky expression. “You didn’t tell me you were going live. I even rushed here when I could’ve blow dried my hair.”
Heeseung smiled sheepishly, brushing Sunoo’s damp bangs off his forehead. “I wasn’t planning to. I just missed talking to them while I was waiting. I didn’t think you’d be so fast.”
“You told me to hurry.”
“I know,” Heeseung murmured, nuzzling his nose against Sunoo’s neck. “And you looked really cute doing it, with the food and all.”
Sunoo sniffed and crossed his arms. “Well now my stomach’s growling and you’re acting clingy.”
“I’m always clingy when I’m sorry.”
“You’re always clingy full stop.”
Heeseung laughed, pulling Sunoo closer. “C’mon, let’s eat before it gets cold. Then I’m beating you in Mario Kart.”
“You wish.”
