Chapter Text

Pokémon XYZ Love Story Conversation

“Future Shock! Kids from a Portal?!”
Starring Joshua and Diantha… plus a surprise or three.

[Setting: A warm, peaceful afternoon at the beach. Joshua and Diantha are cuddling under a parasol, enjoying the breeze. Diantha, in her elegant Gardevoir-themed bikini, rests her head on Joshua’s chest while he absently draws a heart in the sand with his finger.]

Joshua:
sighs dramatically
“You know, I think this might be the most perfect moment in the history of perfect moments.”

Diantha:
giggling “I agree. No paparazzi, no interruptions… just me, my handsome husband, and the sound of the ocean.”
leans up and pecks his cheek

Joshua:
turning bright red, grinning like a dork
“W-Whoa! Ambushed by love again! That’s it. I’m swooning. Catch me, my queen!”

Diantha:
“You’re already in my arms, dramatic boy.”
she curls closer, letting the wind play in her short black hair

Suddenly—WHOOSH! A swirling, glowing portal rips open in the air above them. A teenage boy tumbles out of it, landing in the sand like he’s done this before. He looks about 17, with Diantha’s eyes and Joshua’s wild hair. Then, two more teens—one girl and another boy—gracefully step through, each resembling a perfect blend of the couple.

Teenage Boy #1:
brushing sand off
“Hey Mom! Dad! Whoa… you guys look so young.”

Diantha:
eyes wide, jaw dropped
“Wh—What!? M-Mom?!”

Joshua:
cheerfully oblivious
“Hi there! Welcome to the beach! Can I get you kids a towel or maybe a popsicle?”

Teenage Girl:
laughing “Oh my gosh, he really is that dense. Uncle Clemont was right.”

Teenage Boy #2:
“Dad, it’s us. Your kids. From the future.”

Diantha:
still frozen, but now turning to Joshua with a dazed expression
“…We have kids? Three! THREE!?”

Joshua:
blinking, totally unbothered
“Huh. Weird. I don’t remember that happening. Are you sure I’m the dad?”
tilts head
“Wait, do I win something for this?”

Teenage Boy #1:
points at Diantha, deadpan
“You and Mom are, uh, very loud in the bedroom. Trust me. There’s no doubt.”

Diantha:
face goes beet red
“EXCUSE ME!?”

Teenage Girl:
giggles and high-fives her brother
“I told you she’d say that! And for the record—this happens in about 18 years. You’re still the Kalos Queen, and Dad’s still rocking the dramatic midriff.”

Joshua:
rubbing his chin dramatically
“Hmm… 18 years from now? That’s… wait, how old am I now? Hold on, I need to sit down.”
he’s already sitting

Diantha:
“Joshua. We’re married, we’re in love, and we apparently… made three children in the future.”

Joshua:
eyes sparkling
“Well, that just proves we’re a great team! …Also, I must be really strong.”

Teenage Boy #2:
“You literally flipped a Mega Tyranitar with one hand in our timeline. You’re a legend, Dad.”

Joshua:
grinning like a proud goofball
“That sounds accurate.”

Diantha:
still overwhelmed, but softly smiling now
“This is insane, but… I kind of believe them. I see your smile in him. My eyes in her. And that one—” points to the quietest teen, who’s reading a book in the sand “—is clearly the only sane one.”

Teenage Girl:
“Mom, we just wanted to visit you when you were young. We always wondered what you two were like before we were born.”

Teenage Boy #1:
“Turns out, pretty adorable.”

Joshua:
“Awwww! Come here, future-kids!”
he opens his arms and the three teens laugh and run in for a giant group hug, burying Joshua in a comical dogpile

Diantha:
hand to her mouth, watching with misty eyes
“I… guess we’re going to have a very loud, very full, and very beautiful future.”

Joshua (from under the pile):
“Muffled but happy!”
makes a peace sign from under his kids

[Scene continues in the beachside hotel room. After the shock of meeting their three future kids, Joshua and Diantha are still trying to process everything. The kids are chatting, laughing, and one of them is already raiding the minibar like it’s tradition. The door creaks open…]

Malva:
struts in uninvited, flipping her crimson hair over her shoulder
“Well, well… what a cute little family reunion.”
eyes sparkle with mischief as she rests a hand on her hip, smirking
“I figured now would be the perfect time to stop by. You know, see what all the noise was about.”

Diantha:
instantly narrowing her eyes
“Malva. What are you doing here?”

Joshua:
cheerfully oblivious
“Oh hey, Malva! You just missed a portal full of surprises. These are our future kids! Apparently we have three!”
beaming proudly while flexing just a little too casually

Malva:
walks past him, brushing a finger along his shoulder
“Future kids? My, my. I suppose that means the two of you have been… busy.”
smirks and turns to the teens
“Well? Which one of you inherited your father’s dramatic flair?”
glances to the girl
“Or maybe his abs?”

Teenage Girl:
snorts
“Oh wow. So this is the Malva you warned us about.”

Teenage Boy #1:
“Yep. The one who still hasn’t gotten over her crush on Dad.”
smirking right back

Malva:
playfully gasps, hand to her chest
“Crush? Oh honey, it was never just a crush. Your father is quite the catch. Just look at him…”
turns toward Joshua and runs a finger down his vest strap
“…still wearing that same open vest, showing off that toned belly. Honestly, how did you not faint when he proposed, Diantha?”

Diantha:
now visibly glowing red with a mix of embarrassment and fury
“I almost did, thank you. But unlike you, I didn’t try to steal him while he was too dense to notice.”

Joshua:
tilting his head, confused
“Wait, people tried to steal me? When did this happen? Should I have been worried?”

Teenage Boy #2:
“Dad, you’re the densest man alive. We’ve all accepted it.”

Malva:
grinning like a Meowth with cream
“Mmm… but still the hottest. I mean—”
leans against the doorframe dramatically
“I could have been the one showing off in a bikini, if history had played out differently.”

Teenage Girl:
deadpan, pointing
“Mom, I can take care of this.”
walks over to Malva with a sugar-sweet smile
“Miss Malva. On behalf of future me, I’d like to politely ask you to take your thirsty energy and—how do I say this nicely?—go flirt with someone else’s dad.”

Malva:
chuckles
“Oh, darling. It’s not flirting—it’s just being confident. Something your mom should be proud of in me.”

Diantha:
puts a protective arm around Joshua, smiling confidently
“Oh I’m proud of many things. Especially the fact that I wake up next to him every morning.”
leans in and kisses Joshua on the cheek
“And that our kids are beautiful, strong, and know exactly who they take after.”

Joshua:
still smiling, holding Diantha close
“This turned into a weird day… but honestly? Kinda awesome.”
turns to Malva, still confused
“You want a popsicle too? They’re in the mini freezer!”

Malva:
sighs, shaking her head, smirk lingering
“You really are impossible, Joshua. And I mean that in the most frustratingly attractive way.”
waves a hand, turning to leave
“Fine, I’ll let you have your adorable family moment. But don’t forget—if you ever need a backup Gardevoir in red, you know where to find me.”

Teenage Boy #1:
to his sister, whispering
“She’s going to be single forever, isn’t she?”

Teenage Girl:
“Absolutely.”

[Setting: The beachfront hotel. Joshua and Diantha are cuddled on the couch, the three future kids sitting nearby, chatting and laughing. Everything should be peaceful… except for the sudden sound of multiple feet stomping in. One by one, the door opens… again… and again… and again.]

First in: Olivia
tripping over her own sandals as she bursts in
“Wait—what? Kids!? Joshua has kids!?”
sees them
“…Wow. They’re… beautiful. Just like… like they could’ve been mine…”
clutches chest dramatically, stares at the ceiling
“WHY DID I TAKE TOO LONG TO ASK HIM OUT!?”

Next: Flannery
storming in with steam practically rising from her
“J-JOSHUA HAD BABIES!?”
sees Diantha looking flawless, gently patting her daughter’s head
“Oh come on! She’s cool, she’s beautiful, she’s married to him—SHE WINS EVERYTHING!”
sits on the floor, defeated

Skyla and Elesa enter together
Skyla:
squinting at the kids
“Yup. I see it. Those cheekbones are totally Joshua’s.”
whispers to Elesa
“…We could’ve been the fun flying family…”

Elesa:
sighs dramatically while checking her reflection in a compact
“I even imagined our wedding photos on the cover of PokéChic… but nooo, he had to fall for the Kalos Queen.”

Rika:
sliding in with a bag of chips, wide-eyed
“Whoa. I just came for snacks. But this is better than any drama I’ve seen on Kalos Reality.”
turns to Diantha, mock-whispering
“You lucky, lucky woman.”

Nessa and Sonia peek through the door
Nessa:
fingers curled on the doorframe, muttering
“Why… couldn’t I have been the one in that bikini that day…”

Sonia:
pats her friend’s back
“At least you’re not the one who literally wrote fanfiction about marrying him.”

Geeta, calm as ever, enters next
quietly watching the family scene unfold
“So this… is the future I didn’t get. The one I wanted.”
small, wistful smile
“But she makes him happy. I can’t compete with that.”

Clair, bursting in like a Garchomp in a china shop
shouting with zero subtlety
“OKAY BUT LIKE—WHO LET HIM BE A DAD BEFORE ME!? I TRAIN DRAGONS FOR ARCEUS’ SAKE!”

Iris:
floating behind her like a feather on the wind
“I always knew he was too sweet for me… but I still hoped…”
sniffles into her sleeve

Serena, quietly in the back
arms crossed, looking down
“I thought I had a chance… just one…”

[Back in the room, Joshua is happily munching on fruit, one arm around Diantha, the other around his son.]

Joshua:
cheerfully unaware
“Man, I love having the whole gang here! It’s like a family reunion… but with more people crying for some reason. Maybe they’re just really happy for us?”

Diantha:
eyes scanning the sea of broken hearts and dramatic sighs
smiling sweetly as she leans into Joshua
“…Yes, darling. Let’s go with that.”
whispers in his ear with a smug smile
“Too late, ladies. He’s mine forever~”

Teenage Girl (the daughter):
to her brothers
“Wow. Half the world’s strongest women are in mourning because of our dad.”

Teenage Boy #1:
grinning
“Yeah, I can’t tell if I want to be him… or just wear earplugs for the rest of my life.”

Meanwhile, all the girls silently glance at each other, sharing the same painful thought:
“Why couldn’t that have been me…?”

Setting: The already crowded hotel suite. Diantha sits next to Joshua on the couch, still clutching his arm. Their three teenage kids are chatting and roasting their dad’s density. Around the room, Olivia, Malva, Skyla, Flannery, Elesa, Geeta, Iris, Sonia, Nessa, Rika, Clair, Serena, and others are frozen in silent disbelief… still emotionally processing the fact that Joshua is married, a father, and somehow hotter than ever.
Then… the air warps. AGAIN.
A second portal opens.

VWOOM.

Teen #4 (a girl) flips out of the portal mid-cartwheel. Teen #5 (a boy) flies out holding a Mega Stone like it’s a trophy. Teen #6 (a girl with sunglasses and dramatic flair) floats down like a superhero, landing in a pose.

Teen #4:
bright and bouncy, landing right in front of Joshua
“DADDY!!”
throws herself into his lap with a huge hug
“I missed you so much!”

Joshua:
utterly delighted, completely unbothered
“WHOA! Another daughter!? This day just keeps getting better!”
he hugs her tight, spinning her once
“Diantha, did we know about her?”

Diantha:
mouth open, blinking repeatedly
“…I—Joshua, we didn’t know about any of them.”

Teen #5:
posing with a dazzling grin
“Sup, pops. I’m the one who became a Mega Evolution researcher like Mom, and I’m also the one who inherited your amazing sense of style.”
points at his own glittery green scarf
“Boom.”

Teen #6:
adjusts her shades, voice cool
“You don’t know me yet, but I’m the future Champion of the World Tournament. People call me ‘The Midriff Miracle’.”
struts up to Joshua and flicks his vest
“Got it from you, Dad.”

Joshua:
wiping away a dramatic tear
“My children are… so cool.”

Diantha:
holding her forehead like she has a headache
“Okay. Six. Six children. From the future. All perfect. All loud.”
eyes flicker with panic
“Joshua, we need a bigger house.”

Olivia:
mouth wide open in horror
“THERE’S MORE!?”
stumbles back against the wall dramatically
“Oh Arceus… she’s living my dream, my fantasy, my FANFIC!”

Flannery:
“HE HAD SIX KIDS WITH HER?! I haven’t even held hands with a guy!!”
collapses onto the bed, face down

Skyla:
“Are they going to keep coming!? Is this a multiverse of heartbreak!?”

Elesa:
arms crossed, clearly on the edge
“At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of them popped out married already!”

Malva:
sipping something suspicious from a glass, grinning darkly
“Oh this is delicious. Painful. But delicious.”

Iris:
“Do you think it’s too late to go back in time and confess to him in college…?”

Clair:
pacing back and forth, practically foaming
“SIX!? How is he still hot!? HOW IS HE STILL SINGLE IN MY DREAMS!?”

Rika:
staring blankly at the wall
“They keep… multiplying…”

Serena:
sinking to her knees in the corner
“…I can’t compete with that. She won life. She won everything.”

Joshua (smiling like a proud idiot):
“This is the best day ever! More kids! Diantha, did you hear that? We’re future super-parents!”

Diantha:
laughing through the chaos now, reaching up to brush his bangs aside
“Yes, I heard, my love. I think the entire region heard. Including the exes and crushes.”

Teen #6 (midriff girl):
glancing over her shoulder at the sulking girls
“Are they okay?”

Teen #1 (OG son):
“Yeah. That’s… um… the support group of women who almost married Dad.”

Teen #4 (hug girl):
“Can we take a group photo with everyone crying in the background? For future family albums?”

Joshua:
still dense, still proud
“Aw, you all love us so much! Let’s do a beach photo! Everyone say ‘Abs!’”

Scene: The hotel suite is packed. Joshua is surrounded by his six future kids, his wife Diantha is by his side, glowing like the goddess of Kalos, and every eligible female Trainer, Champion, Professor, and Gym Leader is now standing in a loose, chaotic circle. Tension is in the air.]

Joshua:
smiling and still clueless
“Hey! Since we have six kids… maybe we should, I dunno, let each one pick a godmother?”
looks around the room innocently
“Wait… why is everyone suddenly glowing with aura and ambition?”

Diantha:
smirking, arms folded
“Oh, you just triggered something very dangerous, dear.”

Malva:
stepping forward confidently, flipping her crimson hair
“I obviously get to be godmother to the coolest one—Midriff Girl. I taught her that walk, thank you very much.”

Midriff Girl (Teen #6):
deadpan
“Mom said you weren’t allowed near me without supervision.”

Olivia:
trips over herself dramatically while stepping up
“I VOLUNTEER! I mean—for any of them! Please! I’ll bake cookies! I’ll babysit! I’ll cry at every birthday!”

Teen #4 (hug girl):
giggles
“I do like hugs and cookies… she’s kinda winning.”

Flannery:
bouncing with nervous energy
“I may be a little loud, and clumsy, and hot-headed, but I’d be the fun godmother! Come on! You get explosions and enthusiasm!”

Teen #2 (the Mega Stone boy):
“…Do you blow things up often?”

Flannery:
salutes proudly
“Yes.”

Teen #2:
“…You’re hired.”

Skyla & Elesa (tag team entrance):
Elesa:
“I should be godmother. I bring style.”

Skyla:
“I bring the jet! You want adventures? I’ll take you to Alola and back!”

Teen #1 (OG son):
“You two are dangerously cool. Mom’s going to say no.”

Nessa:
calm and collected, arms crossed
“I’ll teach them how to swim like pros. Water safety, elegance, and beach modeling poses included.”

Sonia:
“And I’ll teach them science and how to properly tease their father.”

Diantha:
chimes in smoothly
“That second part is definitely useful.”

Geeta:
sincerely, with poise
“I would consider it a great honor to mentor one of your children, should you and Diantha deem me worthy.”

Teen #5 (the one with the glitter scarf):
“…Okay she’s scary calm but also kinda majestic. Like Mom 2.0.”

Clair:
bursts in shouting
“I DESERVE THIS! I HAVE DRAGON BLOOD!”

Teen #3 (bookworm):
“…She yells a lot. I want Rika.”

Rika:
mouth full of chips
“Wait, what?”

Teen #3:
“You seem chill. I like chill.”

Rika:
“…Cool. Do I get paid?”

Iris:
bouncing in place
“I’ll teach them how to battle dragons and jump off cliffs!”

Everyone Else:
“NO.”

Serena:
quietly steps forward, voice soft
“…I’d be gentle. I’d take care of them like little siblings… if you’d let me.”

Teen #4 (hug girl):
snuggles into Serena’s arms without hesitation
“…She’s warm. I vote Serena.”

Diantha:
smiling like an empress, counting votes with a clipboard she suddenly has
“Well… looks like we have six new godmothers.”

Joshua:
tearing up with joy
“They’re going to have the best future ever…”

Diantha:
resting her head on his shoulder
“They already do.”

[Scene: Chaos has settled (barely). Six future kids of Joshua and Diantha are lounging around the hotel suite. The newly-appointed godmothers are proudly claiming their chosen child. Joshua is holding a juice box like it’s a trophy. Diantha is massaging her temples with one hand and lovingly holding his with the other.]

Joshua:
grinning wide
“I mean, six kids! That’s amazing! That’s, like… a whole Pokémon party right there!”

Diantha:
soft laugh
“You say that like we didn’t just meet them all at once. I still don’t know how this happened.”

Rika (with chips in hand):
“Honestly, I think I’ve accepted we live in a soap opera now.”

Flannery (wide-eyed):
“Wait. Do you feel that?”

Elesa:
“…No. No, don’t say it.”

Skyla:
mouth open, staring at the air
“The wind… it shifted.”

WHOOSH!
Another portal rips open midair. Glowing bright pink and gold.

Teen #7 (a tiny, hyper 10-year-old girl) tumbles out doing somersaults and yells:
“HI MOM! HI DAD! I’M YOUR FAVORITE BABY!”
lands face-first in Joshua’s chest and clings to him like a Joltik

Joshua:
blinking, then grinning
“OH WOW! I HAVE A TINY ONE TOO! YOU’RE SO SMALL!!”

Teen #7:
squealing in his arms
“And you smell like juice and muscles!”

Teen #8 (cool teen boy, hair over one eye):
floats down casually on a futuristic hoverboard
“…I’m just here because you told me to ‘drop in sometime.’ So. I did.”
lands perfectly, adjusts his green scarf

Teen #9 (sparkling eyes, cape, and overly dramatic):
flies out spinning, throwing confetti from nowhere
“Behold! I am your ninth and most flamboyant child! Here to dazzle the present with my overwhelming style!”
lands in a superhero pose and holds up a rose
“For you, Mother. For you, Father. For fashion.”

Diantha:
eyes wide, blinking rapidly
“…Joshua.”

Joshua:
still hugging the tiny one and fist-bumping hoverboard boy
“Yes, darling?”

Diantha:
“We have nine. NINE! NINE CHILDREN.”

All the girls in the room (Malva, Olivia, Flannery, Serena, Elesa, Skyla, Clair, Geeta, Iris, Sonia, Nessa, Rika, etc.) scream in emotional defeat.

Olivia:
sobbing
“I—I wanted three! She got nine!”

Malva:
collapsing to her knees in melodramatic despair
“DOES ARCEUS HATE ME?!”

Flannery:
running in circles
“NINE! NINE! HE DIDN’T EVEN NOTICE MY CRUSH AND HE HAD NINE KIDS!?”

Elesa:
flatly
“At this point, I’m not jealous. I’m just terrified of this man’s stamina.”

Skyla:
“We need a support group. We need therapy. We need to block him on PokéGram.”

Geeta:
“…You know what? I give up. I’m going to meditate under a waterfall for the next twenty years.”

Teen #7 (the baby girl):
waves at all the women
“Hi aunties! You all look so pretty~!”
they all simultaneously fall apart again

Diantha:
massaging her temples again, voice shaking with humor and disbelief
“I need to sit down. Or lie down. Or fall over dramatically.”

Joshua:
catches her like a prince
“Too late! I already caught you, my beautiful queen!”

Diantha:
groaning in his arms
“That’s why we have nine.”

Teen #9 (dramatic):
throws more glitter
“AND I WOULDN’T CHANGE A THING.”

[Scene: The beachfront hotel suite. There are now NINE kids calling Joshua “Dad” and Diantha “Mom.” The room is filled with sparkles, juice boxes, hoverboards, glitter, dramatic speeches, and casual cuddles. The godmothers are trying their best to look supportive. But deep inside? Oh, they’re broken. And it shows.]

Olivia:
clutching a pillow, rocking back and forth on the floor
“Nine… nine… nine kids. Nine times she got to call him ‘darling.’ Nine times he said ‘I love you.’ Nine times they—AUGH!”
throws the pillow across the room
“WHY DIDN’T I TELL HIM WHEN I HAD THE CHANCE!?”

Malva:
leaning against the window dramatically, holding a glass of something suspicious
“She got everything. The title. The abs. The man. The legacy.
And me? I got… pressed hair and unresolved feelings.”
glances back at Joshua’s midriff
“…and regrets.”

Flannery:
lying on the bed face-down, muffled yelling
“I COULD HAVE BEEN THE FLAME OF HIS LIFE! I COULD HAVE BURNED WITH HIM!”
sits up suddenly
“…instead I just burn alone!”

Skyla:
pacing while flailing her arms
“I could’ve taken him flying! Romantic skies! A first kiss at 30,000 feet! But NO—Diantha had to show up looking like a literal fairy tale and now she has a full baseball team of children!!”

Elesa:
pulling at her designer jacket, panicked
“And they’re all photogenic!! Every single one!! Vogue begged me to date him and I said, ‘He’s just a Gym Leader.’ IDIOT! IDIOT ME!”

Clair:
literally punching a punching bag she brought for this exact situation
“Nine kids!? Nine!?? That’s like—Dragonite levels of commitment! AND I MISSED IT!”

Serena:
quietly sobbing in the corner, holding a hand mirror
“…I even practiced saying ‘Mrs. Dagenais’ in the mirror every night for a year…”

Iris:
buried under a blanket pile, peeking out with teary eyes
“I was gonna teach their baby dragons how to roar… I had dreams!”

Geeta:
sitting calmly but the tea in her cup is visibly vibrating from her inner rage
“I am at peace. I am at peace. I am… going to scream.”

Rika:
sits on the floor, handing out tissues like she’s accepted her fate
“Group cry. Come on. Don’t fight it.”

Nessa:
staring at a family photo the kids just took with Joshua and Diantha
“…Do you think if I stand in the background no one will notice me Photoshopped in?”

Sonia:
“Girl, I tried that. They noticed. Instantly.”

Meanwhile, Joshua (still so very, very dense):
sitting with all nine kids in his lap or around him, smiling
“This is amazing! Everyone’s here and happy and full of energy! I feel so loved!”
waves at all the girls
“Hey! Thanks for coming to celebrate our family reunion!! You’re all the best!”

All the girls (in unison, whispering through tears):
“WHY COULDN’T THAT HAVE BEEN ME…?”

Diantha:
sitting beside Joshua with the smuggest smile in Kalos
“Sorry, ladies. He’s taken. And clearly… very productive.”

Joshua:
confused
“Productive? Oh! Yeah! I made a lot of sandwiches today!”

Diantha:
leans into him, giggling
“Oh sweetie… You really did.”

[Scene: The beachfront hotel suite. Diantha is curled up against Joshua on the couch, surrounded by their nine wonderful, chaotic, beautiful future kids. The godmothers are still trying to emotionally recover. The rest of the girls? Yeah. They’re in shock therapy mode.]

Teen #2 (Mega Evolution researcher son):
leaning over to his siblings, whispering
“Hey… should we do the prank now?”

Teen #6 (Midriff Miracle daughter):
grinning
“Oh absolutely. They’re already dazed. Let’s finish the job.”

Teen #7 (tiny hug-obsessed daughter):
giggling
“I love chaos~”

Teen #9 (glitter bomb dramatic):
flourishes his cape
“Then let us begin. FOR THE FAMILY TRADITION OF DRAMA!”

Teen #1 (OG son):
clears his throat, looks at Joshua and Diantha seriously
“Mom. Dad. There’s… something we haven’t told you.”

Joshua:
suddenly concerned
“Oh? Are you okay? Do we need juice boxes? I have a stash under the bed.”

Teen #5 (the hoverboard one):
deadpan, like he’s about to drop a bomb
“…There are ten more kids. They’re just… running late.”

Diantha:
blinks slowly
“…I’m sorry. Did you say ten more?”

Joshua:
smiling wide, eyes sparkling with joy
“WE HAVE NINETEEN KIDS!? DIANTHA, WE’RE UNSTOPPABLE!”

Olivia:
chokes on air and falls backward
“N-N-N-NINETEEN!?”

Malva:
screaming into a throw pillow
“NINETEEN!? I CAN’T EVEN GET A TEXT BACK!”

Flannery:
looks to the ceiling
“Arceus? Just take me now.”

Elesa:
calculating furiously on her phone
“That’s over a decade of—NOPE I’M OUT.”

Skyla:
hyperventilating into a bag
“I knew it… he’s not human… he’s an abs-powered baby machine!”

Geeta:
has gone completely still
“…I feel my soul leaving my body.”

Serena:
curls into a ball, quietly muttering
“She won. She won the game. She owns the board.”

Rika:
slides under the table with a bottle of soda
“…I’m staying here until this stops.”

Diantha:
slowly turns to her kids, eyes wide, voice shaking
“Ten more…? How…? When? I don’t remember being pregnant that many times!!”

Teen #3 (bookworm daughter):
snorts
“Mom, you probably just blacked out from exhaustion.”

Teen #8 (cool hoverboard guy):
“They’re all around the same age, so, uh… good luck with that math.”

Joshua:
smiling so big it’s ridiculous
“This is AMAZING. We should start a league. Or a marching band!”

The kids exchange looks… and then—

Teen #4 (cuddly daughter):
giggling uncontrollably
“MOM. DAD. IT WAS A PRANK! There’s no ten more kids!!”

Teen #6:
“We just wanted to see how you’d react!”

Teen #7:
“I give it a 10 out of 10. Absolute panic!”

Teen #9:
spinning
“Mother’s face was glorious! A true shocked queen!”

Diantha:
stares at them. Then stares at Joshua. Then faceplants into his chest
“I married a man so lovable I believed we had 19 children without question…”

Joshua:
still hugging her, beaming
“Aw, you were so calm about it, too! That’s why you’re the perfect wife~!”

Diantha:
groans into his shirt
“…You’re going to be the death of me.”

[Scene: After the prank claiming there were 10 more kids, Joshua and Diantha are still catching their breath from the emotional whiplash. The godmothers are recovering with juice, pillows, and therapy breathing exercises. The kids are wheezing with laughter on the floor.]

Joshua:
chuckling, wiping a tear
“Man, you kids got us good! Can you imagine if we actually had twelve kids!? That would be wild, right, Diantha?”

Diantha:
still face-down on his chest
“I’m going to need a spa vacation without portals after this…”

Teen #1 (OG son):
straight-faced now
“…About that.”

Teen #3 (bookworm):
yep, not smiling anymore
“We, uh… weren’t totally lying.”

Teen #5 (glitter-scarf boy):
“…Yeah, the prank part was the ten extra. There are only three more.”

Teen #6 (Midriff Miracle):
sipping a smoothie like this is normal
“So yeah. Not nineteen. Just twelve.”

Joshua:
blinks
“…Wait, what?”

Diantha:
sits up so fast she nearly launches herself
“WHAT!?”

Teen #4 (cuddle princess):
cheerfully counting on her fingers
“There’s us nine: Me, OG bro, Bookworm, Drama King, Glitter Boy, Hoverboard Dude, Tiny Me, Midriff Me, and Mega Nerd!”

Teen #2 (Mega Nerd):
correcting her automatically
“Mega Evolution Researcher, thanks.”

Teen #4:
“Right! And then the three little ones who stayed home ’cause they had daycare, ballet, and a playdate with Aunt Valerie’s kids.”

Diantha:
eyes twitching
“There’s a daycare? A ballet recital?! AUNT VALERIE IS BABYSITTING MY UNKNOWN CHILDREN?!”

Joshua:
leans forward dramatically, gasping
“…We have a ballet dancer child!? OH MY ARCEUS I’M GONNA CRY.”

Malva (from behind a curtain):
softly, like she’s barely clinging to life
“Twelve. There’s twelve. I’m gonna faint. I can’t compete with this. I don’t even have one.”

Olivia:
sobbing into a hotel bathrobe
“She’s living my motherhood goals…”

Flannery:
on the floor, rocking
“Do you think if I run away and come back through a portal I can be his first wife in another timeline?”

Skyla:
“STOP ADDING KIDS. I CAN’T TAKE IT.”

Serena:
clutching her Pokéball like it can save her
“She wins. She’s not just the Champion… she’s the mother of the region.”

Elesa:
“Next, she’ll be raising the next Elite Four by herself.”

Rika:
takes a long sip of soda
“…You know what? I give up. I’m just gonna marry Wulfric.”

Diantha:
staring at her children, voice shaky
“Twelve… we have twelve?”

Teen #9 (drama cape):
placing a hand on her shoulder comfortingly
“Don’t worry, Mother. The last three are adorable. You dressed one of them like a baby Gardevoir.”

Joshua:
gasps
“Diantha! You did that!? That’s adorable!! I want to see pictures!”

Teen #8 (hoverboard cool guy):
“Oh, we have an entire digital slideshow saved. I’ll email it to you.”

Diantha:
leans back against Joshua, stunned, smiling helplessly
“You know what? Fine. We have twelve. I’m embracing it. I’m officially unstoppable.”

Joshua:
grinning proudly
“WE’RE A DOZEN-STRONG FAMILY NOW!”

All the girls in the room (in absolute, soul-shattered unison):
“WHY COULDN’T THAT HAVE BEEN ME?!”

[Scene: Later that evening. The suite is somehow still packed, with twelve future children of Joshua and Diantha now confirmed (three still tiny and napping in their time pods or something), the beach sunset glowing behind them. Diantha is sipping tea while surrounded by chaos. Joshua, still confused but curious, finally speaks up.]

Joshua:
tilting his head dramatically, gesturing to all twelve kids
“Okay, okay, wait. I just need to ask this now because it’s been bugging me.”
he points to the room full of mini-hims and mini-Dianthas
“How did we even get to twelve kids? Like, how does that happen? Was it my genes? My training? Or is it because of my cu—”

Diantha:
cuts in faster than a Quick Attack
“YUP. That’s totally what it is. You’re amazing, sweetheart. That’s the reason. End of discussion.”

Joshua:
blinks, confused
“Oh… cool! I mean, I am amazing, so yeah, that makes sense!”

Teen #1 (OG son):
smirking, arms crossed
“Yeah… no. Mom shut that down real fast.”

Teen #2 (Mega Evolution researcher):
“Pretty sure the doctor said it was something about ‘hyperfertility synergy’ or ‘unrelenting aura-based attraction levels’ or something…”

Teen #6 (Midriff Queen):
flicks her shades down with a grin
“Translation: Dad’s too hot for this world.”

Teen #4 (hug machine):
hugs Joshua tightly
“You’re just so snuggly! Maybe that’s why!”

Teen #9 (cape and glitter):
“Or maybe it’s the sheer drama of your DNA, Father. Your charisma is scientifically unstoppable.”

Teen #3 (bookworm, flipping a tablet):
“Actually, according to the notes from Professor Sycamore’s 2043 thesis, it was something about your abs causing a cellular reaction in Mom’s nervous system that—”

Diantha:
sharply
“We. Are. Not. Discussing. My nervous system.”

Joshua:
still clueless, tilting his head
“Wait, what about my abs?”

All Older Kids:
“NOPE. Moving on.”

Teen #7 (tiny cuddle princess):
head tilted
“Wait… what’s ‘cu—’?”

Teen #8 (hoverboard kid):
immediately covering her ears
“NOPE. Don’t finish that thought, baby sis. This is a family-friendly timeline.”

Teen #5 (scarf twin):
to his youngest sibling
“It just means Dad is very motivated when he loves Mom. Like… really motivated.”

Teen #10 (toddler, poking Joshua’s abs):
“Daddy’s tummy is strong. Is that why I’m here?”

Diantha:
smiling through gritted teeth, face now a bit red
“Yes, sweetheart. Daddy’s tummy… is very strong.”

Joshua:
posing dramatically with a heroic fist to the sky
“That’s right! My abs bring people together!”

All the Girls Watching From the Corner (Clair, Flannery, Olivia, Malva, Serena, Elesa, etc.):
“OH COME ON!”
They all simultaneously walk into the ocean.

💤 10:00 PM — Quiet at Last… Sort Of

Théa (to Soleil, reading by flashlight):

“…No. Not a chance.”

👶 The Toddler Trio:
• Felix (6): the chaos commander with wild ideas and no brakes
• Maelie (4): the quiet artist with a mischievous side
• Julien (2): the baby muscle and accidental wrecking ball

[Scene: A peaceful morning at the Sootopolis mansion. The older kids are training, studying, or meditating under waterfalls. Meanwhile… in the nursery… something brews.]

“Operation ‘Parent Surprise Party’ is GO!”

“FOAM PARTY!!”

Step 3: The “Cake”

Felix:
mixing everything he can find into a bowl
“I put ketchup, jelly, and protein powder. Dad says gains are good.”

Maelie:
“…You forgot the sprinkles.”

Julien:
just sitting in the batter bowl
“I AM THE CAKE.”

👑 The Grand Reveal

[Joshua and Diantha walk into the living room, hand in hand, following a glitter trail.]

Joshua:
“…Did someone blow up a daycare and a birthday party at the same time?”

Diantha:
speechless as she surveys the glitter mural, upside-down furniture, and a frosting-covered Julien roaring in victory
“…This is either a crime scene or a gift.”

Toddler Trio (jumping out):
“SURPRIIIIIIIISE!!!”

Felix:
“Mom! Dad! We made a party because we love you! And also because I found the blender!”

Maelie:
presents a sparkling portrait of the family
“This is you two. See how happy you look?”

Julien (covered in syrup):
“CAAAAAKE HUGS!!!”

Joshua:
tears in his eyes, lifts all three into a big bear hug
“You guys… are the BEST surprise ever.”

Diantha:
glitter in her hair, smiling like the sun
“…We’re raising supervillains. Adorable, sparkly, love-filled supervillains.”

Later…

Teen #1 (Aurelian):
“…Why is there syrup in the chandelier?”

Celestia:
stepping over spilled glitter with a sigh
“Little ones struck again. Classic.”

Elio:
sniffs the chaos
“…That cake smells like regret.”

Diantha (sitting with Joshua on the couch, kids napping on their laps):
“I used to dream of peace and elegance…”

Joshua:
“…And now we have twelve kids, a glitter-covered living room, and a baby pretending to be a candle.”

Diantha:
leans into him
“…It’s perfect.”

📸 Location: Sootopolis Cliffside Overlook

Overlooking the sea, the sun setting behind them, the entire Dagenais family prepares for the most dramatic, elegant, and chaotic family photo Kalos has ever witnessed.

Joshua:
shirt open, green scarf fluttering, holding Julien like a football
“Alright team! Let’s make history! Show Kalos what love looks like!”

Diantha:
in a flowing white dress, short hair curled perfectly, kissing Joshua’s cheek
“Let’s show them why we’re the most unstoppable couple alive.”

🧁 Photo Chaos (because of course)

Felix:
spraying party streamers into the air
“This picture needs POW!”

Celestia:
“Stop flailing! I already posed!”

Julien:
drops half a cookie into Joshua’s hair
“Oopsie! Cookie crown!”

Orion:
“…This is going in the museum someday.”

Théa:
“Technically, this breaks the Guinness record for ‘Most Beautiful Family in One Photo.’”

📷 SNAP!

The camera flashes—just as Joshua spins Diantha into a kiss, Celestia tosses glitter, Liora leaps mid-air, and Julien raises both hands victoriously like he won the Pokémon League.

💖 The Final Photo Description:

Framed in golden light, the family stands proud.
Joshua front and center, midriff out and arms around Diantha.
Diantha, radiant as ever, resting her head on his shoulder.
Their twelve children surrounding them like a starburst—each unique, each dazzling.

At the bottom in cursive:
“The Dagenais Family – Unbeatable. Unbreakable. Unbelievably Fabulous.”

📸 Backstage Commentary:

Serena (watching from a hill):
sniffling into a tissue
“That could’ve been me…”

Olivia:
lying on the ground
“They got a sunset. A CLIFF. MATCHING OUTFITS. I’m done.”

Malva:
wearing sunglasses to hide her tears
“I swear, if even one of those kids starts modeling, I retire.”

Flannery:
clutching her chest
“Arceus… they even got glitter mid-air… perfectly timed.”

Diantha:
whispers to Joshua
“Do you realize what this picture means?”

Joshua:
smiling wide
“That our family is the most beautiful in all of Kalos?”

Diantha:
“…Exactly.”

Joshua:
spins her in his arms again
“And that’s game.”

🕰️ The Day After the Family Photo

The sun rises over Sootopolis. The mansion is quiet. Too quiet. The twelve future kids are scattered across the house, soaking up every last second before the inevitable.

In the living room, the time portal device gently hums as it reactivates.

☕ Diantha’s Quiet Realization

Diantha:
watching the sun with a warm cup of tea in her hands
“They’re going home today, aren’t they…”

Joshua:
sitting beside her, arms around her waist
“Yeah. I can feel it. I mean, we still get them in the future… but it feels different.”

Diantha:
smiling softly, but her voice trembles
“I got used to hearing them call me ‘Mom’ so easily…”

💔 One Last Family Breakfast

The entire family is around the table. For once, it’s calm. No glitter. No syrup in the chandelier. Just soft smiles, nostalgic glances, and a lot of hugging.

Aurelian:
cutting pancakes slowly
“Being here made me remember why I always wanted to be like you, Dad.”

Joshua:
tearing up, blinking fast
“…You already are.”

Soleil:
hugging Diantha tightly
“Promise you’ll remember everything? The good, the chaotic, the glitter?”

Diantha:
“Every detail. Even the time Felix tried to put toothpaste on a baguette.”

🚪The Portal Opens

The air shimmers as the golden light glows again. The kids gather, bags in hand, emotions brimming. Even Julien is unusually quiet, clinging to Joshua’s leg.

Julien:
“Don’t wanna go…”

Joshua (kneeling):
“Hey… you’re my little champ, right? You’ll be back. And when you are, I’ll have way more snacks.”

Diantha:
pulling Julien close for one more kiss
“And I’ll be waiting with open arms.”

💫 One by One
• Maelie hands Diantha one last drawing: a picture of the family under the stars.
• Liora leaves behind a ribbon: “So you’ll always feel me dancing.”
• Celestia throws glitter in the air as she disappears dramatically: “Fabulous until the end.”
• Orion fist-bumps Joshua: “Later, old man. Try not to miss me too much.”
• Théa slips a book into Joshua’s coat: “It’s a story… about you and Mom.”

😭 Final Goodbyes

Felix (sniffling):
“I’m gonna miss you so much, Daddy…”

Joshua (hugging him tight):
“I’ll miss you more, kiddo. But guess what?”

Felix:
“What?”

Joshua:
grinning through tears
“You’re the best prank I ever got.”

🌈 The Last to Leave

Aurelian & Soleil step to the portal last. The twins turn around one final time.

Aurelian:
“You two gave us a future worth fighting for.”

Soleil:
“And we’ll keep protecting it. Every single day.”

Diantha:
smiling proudly, but wiping her eyes
“We believe in you. Always.”

✨ And Then… They’re Gone

With a flash of golden light… the portal closes.

Silence falls.

💭 The Aftermath

Joshua and Diantha stand alone, the breeze lifting her hair gently.

Joshua:
“…Do you think we’ll remember all of this when we’re raising them?”

Diantha:
grabs his hand, squeezing it
“We may not remember the details… but we’ll remember how this felt.”

Joshua:
smiling
“Like the greatest story ever told.”

🌌 Scene: That Same Quiet Moment on the Cliffside

Joshua and Diantha are still hand-in-hand, looking out at the ocean, the portal now closed, and the world feeling just a little too quiet.

Joshua:
sighing
“Well… that was a beautiful fever dream. Time-traveling kids. Sparkle bombs. Flying toddlers…”

Diantha:
resting her head on his shoulder
“I miss them already. Especially Julien. He made the most precious baby candle.”

Joshua:
snorts
“And don’t forget Felix. That kid weaponized a blender.”

💥FLASH!
BOOM!
POOF!
A ripple in space-time opens up again, but sloppier this time—like someone accidentally knocked it over.

WHOOSH! Out tumble all twelve kids. Again.

Joshua:
jumps five feet back in surprise
“WHAAAAAT!?”

Diantha:
staring wide-eyed, hair blown back by the portal gust
“…Am I hallucinating or is that Julien riding a Togepi like a mount?”

Julien:
waving like a champion
“HI MOMMY! HI DADDY! WE’RE BAAAAACK!!”

Maelie (covered in stickers):
“Yup. Time go woosh, portal go pop, and now we’re back.”

Felix:
sliding down a palm tree
“Apparently the timeline went wibbly. And now we’re, like, stuck here.”

Elio (dusting off his coat):
“According to my data, someone—cough, Julien—spilled juice on the core stabilizer.”

Julien:
guilty
“I wanted to charge it with juice…”

Celestia (spinning dramatically):
“Well, whether it’s fate or fruit punch, we’re BACK, baby! Let the fabulous reign resume!!”

Joshua:
grabbing his head
“Okay. Okay. Wait. Let me get this straight. You’re ALL back… for good?”

Aurelian:
shrugging
“Time’s a little broken right now. We’re, uh, semi-permanent residents.”

Soleil:
“Until someone fixes the continuum. Which could take… years.”

Théa (already unpacking):
“I brought my books. We’re clearly not going anywhere.”

💥 The Girls Hear About It

Back at the resort café…

Serena:
sipping tea, trying to be at peace
“At least they’re back to their own time now.”

Malva (scrolling PokéGram):
“…Uhh, you’re gonna want to see this.”

Headline: “Joshua & Diantha’s 12 Future Children—Back Again & Enrolled in Kalos Academy!”

Clair:
rips the tablecloth in half
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY’RE BACK!?!?”

Elesa:
crushing her sunglasses in one hand
“They’re… here!? Again!?”

Flannery:
lying on the floor, spiraling
“I can’t handle another glitter parade…”

👑 Meanwhile, at Home

Diantha (hugs all her kids tightly):
“You know what? Fine. We already survived your hugs, your battles, and your cake disasters.”

Joshua:
“Guess we’re full-time parents way earlier than expected!”

Felix:
jumps into Joshua’s arms
“Hey, Dad! We brought back the blender!”

Joshua:
grinning wide
“That’s game.”

🌤️ Scene: Outside the Sootopolis Mansion

The garden is filled with laughter. Twelve kids are running around, setting up a new play area (complete with trap doors and glitter fountains). Joshua is helping Julien ride a Luxray like a pony. Diantha is watching with a hand over her heart, beaming with motherly pride.

Suddenly…

🎶 Cue overly intense piano music…
The air goes cold.
An ominous Garchomp-shaped shadow creeps along the ground…

Cynthia has arrived.

Cynthia (arms folded):
stepping dramatically into view, long coat billowing despite no wind
“So. I heard the timeline broke and you ended up with a dozen kids, Joshua.”

Joshua (grinning proudly):
“Yep! Twelve of ‘em! Aren’t they awesome?”

Diantha:
smiling smugly, sipping iced tea
“I’m very productive, Cynthia.”

Cynthia (raising a brow):
“Well, I suppose I came to say congratulations… and maybe see what these little prodigies look like. I’m sure at least one of them has Champion potential—”

All 12 kids:
simultaneously turn, point at Cynthia, and say in perfect harmony:
“You’re overrated.”

Cynthia:
blinks
“…What?”

Teen #2 (Elio):
“Your Garchomp is cool but like… it’s just one trick.”

Teen #6 (Celestia):
“No accessories. No flair. No flavor.”

Teen #3 (Théa):
“Your strategy is outdated by six generations.”

Felix (6):
“Dad beat you in his SLEEP!”

Julien (2):
“OVA-RAA-TED!”
throws a Poképuff like a mic drop

Cynthia:
completely stunned, mouth open
“…I… you… what!?!”

Diantha (smiling sweetly):
“Oh dear. Looks like they inherited my sense of taste… and his honesty.”

Joshua (rubbing the back of his head, chuckling):
“Kids say the funniest things!”

Cynthia:
visibly twitching, fists clenched
“I—I’m STILL the Sinnoh Champion!”

Teen #1 (Aurelian):
“…Only because no one challenged you since 2006.”

Cynthia:
storms off toward her Garchomp, visibly shaken
“I-I don’t need this! I’ll be at the real Champion summit!”

Teen #9 (Cape Glitter Boy):
calling after her
“Tell Leon we said he’s overrated too!”

Skyla (watching from a bush):
“…Okay, that was kinda savage.”

Malva:
slow clapping
“I don’t even care anymore. I respect it.”

Joshua (huddling his kids):
“Okay! Maybe we be a little nicer next time, huh?”

Kids (all together):
“NOPE!”

Diantha:
patting Joshua’s head lovingly
“Darling… it’s not your fault. You’re just that impressive.”

Joshua (grinning):
“…So does this mean I finally win the Champion popularity contest?”

Diantha:
“Unanimously.”

🏡 Scene: Outside Sootopolis Mansion — Again

Joshua’s lounging on a hammock with Julien napping on his abs. Diantha is flipping through a magazine titled “Kalos’ 50 Most Powerful Dads” with Joshua on the cover. The kids? Lounging like royalty after utterly obliterating Cynthia’s ego.

BOOM!
An orange Charizard descends dramatically from the sky, roaring heroically. Smoke explodes as Leon lands in full pose mode, cape billowing, teeth sparkling.

Leon:
grinning like he’s on a cereal box
“Alright! So where’s this famous family? The rumors say you’ve got twelve kids, Joshua!”

Joshua:
sitting up with a wave
“Hey, man! Long time no see! And yeah—we got a whole squad!”

Leon:
crosses arms, smirking confidently
“Twelve kids, huh? That’s a lot. You sure you can handle that many? Not everyone’s built like me.”

The kids (sensing prey):
slowly all turn to face Leon in perfect synchronicity. No words yet. Just judgment.

Leon (nervous chuckle):
“…Wait. Why are you all looking at me like that?”

Teen #2 (Elio):
“Here comes the overhyped one.”

Teen #4 (Amara):
“Didn’t he get lost in his own stadium once?”

Teen #8 (Silvain, sipping juice):
“I remember. The ‘Unbeatable Champion’… until Hop beat him.”

Felix (6, whisper-shouting):
“HE LOST TO A GUY NAMED HOP.”

Julien (2):
points dramatically
“LEON BAD AT MAPS!”

Leon:
defensive, already sweating
“Hey, hey! I was just being dramatic! It’s part of the brand!”

Teen #6 (Celestia):
“Your brand is getting wrecked in finals and calling it ‘flair.’”

Teen #3 (Théa):
“Statistically speaking, your win-loss ratio collapsed post-Dynamax meta.”

Teen #1 (Aurelian):
“You’re basically a glorified fashion model with a Charizard.”

Leon:
visibly spiraling
“I—I trained that Charizard from LEVEL 5!!”

Teen #7 (Liora):
“And it still lost.”

Diantha (smiling gently):
“Oh dear. They’re in roast mode again. Should I stop them?”

Joshua:
proudly munching popcorn
“Not a chance. They’re bonding.”

Leon:
fumbling, adjusting his cape like a nervous toga
“I—I came here to offer to train with you kids, but now I feel like I’m being evicted from reality.”

Teen #5 (Soleil):
“You can train next door. On the island called Irrelevant.”

Leon:
sulking back to his Charizard, utterly destroyed
“…I should’ve stayed in Galar…”

Teen #9 (Glitter Cape):
“Tell Chairman Rose we said hi! And that he’s also overrated!”

All the girls in the bushes (Skyla, Flannery, Serena, Malva, etc.):
choking with laughter

Malva:
grinning like a devil
“This is my new favorite show.”

Diantha (sipping calmly):
“…I love our children.”

Joshua:
flexing abs proudly
“I MADE them. And that’s game.”

🧊 Scene: Sootopolis Courtyard, Midday

Joshua is helping Felix build a trampoline out of leftover gym mats. Diantha is lounging in a sun chair, sunglasses on, reading PokéQueen Monthly. The kids are chill—for now.

Until…

A white convertible pulls up. A sparkling, over-polished Metagross levitates above the ground behind it.
Cue unnecessary piano music.
Steven Stone has arrived.

Steven:
stepping out in a blindingly shiny gray-and-purple suit
“Greetings, Joshua. Diantha. I came to congratulate you on your incredible family. Twelve kids… truly impressive.”

Joshua:
waves with a smile
“Hey, Steven! Thanks! Wanna meet ‘em?”

Steven:
smug smile
“I’d love to. I’ve been told I’m something of a role model to young Trainers.”

Cue the children.
They all pause what they’re doing and turn. One by one. Simultaneously. Like predators. With sparkle in their eyes.

Teen #1 (Aurelian):
calmly
“Target locked.”

Teen #6 (Celestia):
spins around in glitter smoke
“Oh no. Not him.”

Teen #2 (Elio):
“Let’s make it quick. I’ve got Mega Stones to catalog.”

Steven:
completely oblivious
“Ah, yes. I can already tell from your eyes—you admire me.”

All 12 Kids (in perfect unison):
“You’re just a rich guy with good hair and a rock collection.”

Steven:
visibly stunned
“Excuse me?”

Teen #5 (Soleil):
“Do you do anything besides polish your Metagross and talk about rocks?”

Teen #3 (Théa):
“You lost to a Champion with a fire lizard. You collect fossils. You are a fossil.”

Teen #8 (Silvain):
“Your hair has more shine than your win record.”

Julien (2):
points, drooling slightly
“Shiny head!”

Maelie (4):
draws Steven with a shiny Metagross… and a sad face
“I call this one ‘Steven Crying.’”

Felix (6):
throws a rock dramatically
“I found a better one!”

Steven:
eyes twitching, clinging to his Metagross for emotional support
“I-I am a former Champion of Hoenn!”

Teen #9 (Cape Glitter):
“You’re a placeholder Champion. Everyone forgets you were even there.”

Teen #7 (Liora):
smiling sweetly
“My mom beat you so fast she didn’t break a nail.”

Diantha (without looking up from her magazine):
“That was a lovely Tuesday.”

Joshua:
beaming with pride
“They’re just brutally honest! It’s a gift.”

Steven (backing away slowly):
“…I should’ve stayed in Granite Cave…”

Teen #4 (Amara):
“Yeah. Or just… under one.”

Teen #11 (Maelie):
gives him a drawing that just says “meh.”

Steven (grabbing the car door):
“Okay, I’m leaving. Please… please don’t tell Wallace I came here.”

Teen #10 (Felix):
shouting as Steven peels off in his convertible
“WALLACE IS COOLER THAN YOUUUUU!”

Malva (watching from a bush, eating popcorn):
“…This is the best entertainment I’ve had since Lysandre tried to monologue underwater.”

Diantha:
smiling sweetly, sunglasses still on
“Honestly… we should start charging for front row seats.”

Joshua (lifting Julien onto his shoulders):
“Legendary kids. Legendary roasts. That’s game.”

Suddenly—sparkles shoot from the sky. Water arches upward like a fountain. And then…

🎶 Cue an overly dramatic orchestral fanfare mixed with harp strums.

WALLACE descends on a Milotic-drawn floating platform, cloaked in shimmering turquoise and lavender. Doves fly. Somewhere, a harp explodes.

Wallace (posing):
“My darlings! My dramatic nephew! My Kalos Queen! And my fashion-forward, power-blessed, chaos-infused godnieces and godnephews! I have ARRIVED!”

Joshua:
grinning and standing
“Uncle Wallace! You came!”

Diantha:
smiling
“Of course he did. He never misses a grand entrance.”

The 12 Kids (ALL AT ONCE):
“UNCLE WALLAAAAACE!!”

🌀 Chaos—But Make It Wholesome

Felix (6):
leaps into Wallace’s arms
“You’re my favorite uncle who wears eyeliner!”

Julien (2):
throws flower petals at him like he’s royalty
“SPARKLY MAN!!”

Celestia (14):
“Uncle Wallace! You’re my muse, my icon, my fashion benchmark.”

Théa (13):
“I wrote an entire dissertation on your cape evolution.”

Elio (16):
“I programmed a hologram of you for my battle simulations.”

Aurelian & Soleil (17):
“We booked your guest lecture for Kalos Academy’s ‘Elegant Battle Theory’ course.”

Wallace (fanning himself dramatically):
“Oh my stars… You’re all more radiant than I ever dreamed! Diantha, Joshua—you didn’t raise children. You raised ICONS.”

🛁 Meanwhile, in the Garden…

Maelie (4):
sets up a kiddie pool and paints it pink with Wallace’s name on it
“This is the Wallace Pool of Glamour.”

Liora (10):
twirls in a water dance routine
“I’m practicing my debut performance at Uncle Wallace’s birthday gala!”

Wallace (tearing up):
“I’M TOO BEAUTIFUL TO CRY BUT I’M GONNA DO IT ANYWAY—”

Diantha:
handing him a glittery handkerchief
“We had a feeling you’d show up.”

😱 Meanwhile, Watching From the Trees…

Cynthia, Leon, and Steven (in full recovery mode):
peeking from behind a hedge, jaws dropped

Cynthia:
“Are they… worshipping him?”

Leon:
“But—but they called me overrated…”

Steven:
“And they said I was a fossil…”

Wallace (looking directly at them and blowing a kiss):
“Not all Champions are built the same, darlings.”

💖 Final Moments

Joshua (smiling with arms crossed):
“I’m glad they love you. They deserve an uncle as extra as they are.”

Wallace (hugging all 12 kids in a sweeping motion):
“And I’ll spoil them so gloriously it’ll echo through time!”

Diantha:
sighing contently
“I’ve never been more terrified… or proud.”

🛏️ Bedtime Montage:
• Felix (6):
wrapped like a burrito in his blanket, mumbling
“Tell Leon… he’s still overrated…”
• Liora (10):
whispers as she snuggles in
“If Uncle Wallace dreams, I hope he dreams in glitter…”
• Silvain (15):
hoverboard parked by his bed
“If Steven shows up again tomorrow, I’m just handing him a mirror.”
• Elio (16):
typing battle notes in his holo-journal
“Note: Garchomp does not appreciate being called ‘mid-tier.’”
• Celestia (14):
whispers to her reflection
“I am the sparkle… I am the storm…”
• Julien (2):
holding Joshua’s scarf like a teddy bear
“Nighty Daddy… zzz…”

Joshua (walking down the hall with Diantha):
quietly
“So… we had twelve kids from the future, battled egos, roasted half the Champions in the world, and Wallace descended like a literal fashion angel.”

Diantha:
linking arms with him, smiling serenely
“All before bedtime.”

Joshua:
“…Do you think tomorrow will be this crazy?”

Diantha:
gently kisses his cheek
“With our kids? Of course.”

They stop at the last door, peek inside. All twelve kids—tucked in, some snoring, some drooling, some glittering. Peaceful at last.

Joshua (softly):
“…This is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Diantha (resting her head on his shoulder):
“…Same.”

🌟 Final Shot:

Joshua and Diantha walk to their room, hand in hand.

In the distance… Wallace is floating by in his robe, asleep, snoring… somehow still glowing.

And just before the lights go out—

All 12 kids (muffled from beds, half-asleep):
“Goodnight, Mom. Goodnight, Dad. Love you…”
