So Human

Summary:

Linton is up, wallowing in self-pity, when an uninvited guest from the Head visits him.

Work Text:

Linton lies in his room, wallowing in despair as he always had, silently weeping to himself; however, the creaking of his door puts him on alert, as he had recalled ordering the maids to leave him be for the day. Sitting up, Linton's expression quickly morphs to one of sheer horror, seeing an Arbiter of the Head standing in his doorway.

"Wh-" Linton gets out before Zena's finger softly presses on his lips. "No need to be afraid," Zena states, "If you were in any real trouble, I'd have dispatched you quite swiftly, as I'm sure you're well aware." Linton calms down only a fraction, remaining quite tense, before nervously asking, "Might I ask you why you're here, then?"

Zena's silent footsteps terminate at Linton's bedside, a hand coming up to rest on Linton's cheek. "Because I thought you were simply adorable," Zena admits, "So pitiable, so cowardly, so... human."

Linton swiftly recoils from the Aribter's touch before retorting, "I am a married man-" Zena quickly moves her finger to his mouth, silencing him. "Uh, uh, don't bring her up," Zena states, "Tell me, what has that Catherine done for you? I assure you, I'll treat you far better than she ever has."

Feeling her cold flesh on his lips, Linton's breath hitches, a blush creeping onto his face as the man takes in her words. His heart tells him he should say no, but the growing loneliness urges him to say yes. Linton attempts to look away, but Zena grabs his chin roughly, forcing him to stare at her. "Answer me, dear, yes or no," She commands.

Linton sits there in silence, staring into her eyes, contemplating this choice before leaning in, the man and Arbiter's lips locking in an intense clash, with Zena swiftly taking control. The woman's tongue explores Linton's mouth, claiming every inch, before she slowly pulls away, a strand of saliva connecting the two lovers' mouths.

"You're mine," Zena states, grabbing his chin once more, more possessively this time, "Don't you ever forget that~" Taken into her embrace, Linton lets his sorrows melt into the night.
