Work Text:

The quiet cobblestone streets of the quaint neighborhood surrounding U.A. High School were a stark contrast to the bustling, hero-filled world beyond its gates. Amidst the gentle hum of distant traffic and the occasional chirp of a bird, a young woman with a penchant for oversized glasses and a sensible hairdo made her way towards the school. She was no hero, nor did she possess any extraordinary quirks, but she had been invited to impart her knowledge as a substitute teacher for the day. {y/n}, as she was known to the students, was about to step into the unassuming shoes of Professor History, tasked with guiding a class through the annals of time and the birth of the quirked society they lived in. Unbeknownst to her, her ordinary appearance would soon capture the gaze of Aizawa Shouta, the stoic and enigmatic pro-hero who doubled as a teacher at the prestigious academy. His sharp eyes followed her from the shadows of the staff lounge, curiosity piquing as she approached the classroom assigned to her.

As the bell signaled the end of the first period, Aizawa Shouta, known by his hero name Eraserhead, stepped into the classroom unannounced. He leaned against the doorframe, his arms crossed over his chest, and announced that it was his free period. Y/n, startled by his sudden presence, fumbled with her notes before collecting herself and greeting him with a tentative smile. His piercing gaze softened as he offered to help with the class, claiming it would be a break from his usual routine of paperwork and training the future heroes. Throughout the class, Aizawa's assistance was subtle yet invaluable, as he deftly managed the students' boundless energy with a calm authority that seemed almost otherworldly. As the lesson progressed, he found himself drawn to the substitute teacher's genuine passion for history and her unique perspective on the world devoid of quirks. They had a brief moment of conversation, discussing the nuances of historical interpretation and the challenges of teaching such a dynamic class. Y/n felt a strange flutter in her stomach as she realized that this enigmatic hero was not only knowledgeable but also surprisingly charming in his own way.

Intrigued by his unassuming demeanor, Y/n couldn't resist asking Aizawa about his quirk, something she'd heard whispers of but never fully understood. His eyes narrowed slightly before he leaned in, explaining in a hushed tone that his quirk was the ability to erase the quirks of others with a mere glance. The gravity of his power was not lost on her, and she found herself even more submissively dominated by his presence. After the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, Aizawa suggested they take their conversation outside. They ended up on a bench under the shade of a blossoming sakura tree, the pink petals dancing in the light spring breeze.

Y/n took a deep breath, deciding to share a piece of her past with Aizawa that she rarely revealed to anyone. "You know, I used to have a quirk," she began, her voice barely above a whisper. "It was nothing like the ones you see here, though." She paused, her gaze drifting to the distant horizon, lost in thought. "It was the ability to roll back time, to a certain extent. Just enough to fix small mistakes or prevent minor accidents." Her expression grew solemn as she continued, "But then one day, something went terribly wrong. A student named Eri, she was in an experimental program... her quirk was unpredictable. She accidentally rolled back time too far, and in the process, she took away my power. I was left with nothing but the memories of what I once had." "To lose something so precious..." Aizawa said,Y/n squeezed his hand, a small smile playing on her lips. "It's alright," she assured him. "It's a part of who I am now, and it's brought me here, to share what I know with these wonderful students that posses something I used to have."

Aizawa's words hit Y/n like a ton of bricks, echoing in the stillness of the schoolyard. "If you let this define you, you're not fit to be here. But if you can show me you still have what it takes to guide these kids, then maybe there's still a place for you." His expression remained stoic, but his eyes searched hers for a flicker of understanding, a spark that would reveal whether she had accepted her new role in life. For a moment, she felt the weight of his judgment, the doubt that clung to her like a damp cloak. Yet, instead of succumbing to despair, a fierce determination ignited within her.

Y/n straightened her back, her grip on his hand tightening slightly. She met his gaze with a look of defiance, her eyes shimmering with a newfound resolve. "You're right, Aizawa" she said, her voice steady despite the tremble in her chest. "I can't change the past, but I can certainly shape the future. And if my purpose now is to inspire these young minds, then I won't let the loss of my quirk hold me back."

Aizawa's gaze held hers for a beat longer before he gave a curt nod, a hint of respect flickering in his eyes. He stood, pulling her to her feet. "I'll be watching," he said, his voice gruff but not unkind. "Prove to me that you belong here, in the hallowed halls of U.A."

The challenge hung in the air, thick and palpable. Y/n felt a mix of fear and excitement, the kind that came from stepping into the unknown. But she knew that she had something valuable to offer these students, something beyond the flashy battles and grand heroics. She had the power of understanding, of empathy, of knowing what it was like to live without the very thing they cherished most.

The next day, Y/n walked into the classroom with renewed vigor, her mind buzzing with ideas on how to integrate mental and emotional wellness into her history lessons. She noticed that the students, with their myriad of quirks, also had a myriad of personalities, fears, and aspirations that were often overlooked in the quest for power and heroism. As she began her lecture, she took a moment to address their mental health, emphasizing that a strong mind was as vital as a powerful quirk. She shared stories of heroes who had overcome great adversity through sheer will and resilience, not just their quirks. The students, sensing the sincerity in her words, leaned in, their eyes glued to her every move. Aizawa, who had been silently observing from the back of the class, found himself impressed by her approach. He could see the impact she was making, the way they were connecting with her on a deeper level.

As the class drew to a close, the students filed out, leaving Y/n to gather her thoughts. The room felt eerily quiet without their energetic chatter. Aizawa stepped forward, his footsteps deliberate and slow. She looked up to find him standing before her, his eyes unreadable pools of darkness. He took a step closer, and before she could react, he reached out and cupped her face in his hand, tilting it upwards to meet his gaze. His other hand rested gently on her waist, pulling her closer to his lean frame. The air between them crackled with an unspoken tension that had been building since the day before. He leaned down, his breath hot against her skin, and whispered, "You're doing well." The words, though simple, held a weight that filled her with pride.

Without warning, his lips crushed against hers, a sudden explosion of passion that caught Y/n off-guard. Aizawa's kiss was demanding yet tender, his hand sliding up to tangle in her hair as he angled her head to deepen the kiss. Her eyes fluttered closed, and she felt herself melting into his embrace, her arms instinctively wrapping around his neck. The kiss was long, thorough, and left her breathless when he finally pulled away, his thumb brushing gently against her swollen bottom lip. He searched her eyes, looking for any sign of rejection, but all he saw was a mirror of the desire that burned in his own. He leaned in again, this time more gently, his lips moving in a silent question. She responded with a soft moan, parting her lips to invite him in, and they lost themselves in the moment, the classroom forgotten as they explored the uncharted territory of their newfound connection.

The kiss grew more intense with each passing second, their bodies pressing closer, yearning for contact. Y/n's hands roamed over Aizawa's shoulders, feeling the firmness of his muscles beneath his suit. His own hands slipped down to the small of her back, molding her against him as if they were two puzzle pieces finally finding their rightful place. It was a kiss that spoke of a longing that went beyond the physical, a silent declaration that they saw each other, truly saw each other, in a world where everyone was so focused on what set them apart.

When they finally broke apart, both were panting, their chests heaving with the effort of containing their emotions. Aizawa stepped back, a small smile playing on his lips, his eyes never leaving hers. "I've never met anyone quite like you," he murmured, his voice thick with feeling. Y/n couldn't help but return the smile, her cheeks flushed with color. "And I've never been kissed by a hero," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

The moment stretched out between them, filled with promise and potential. Aizawa reached out, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face, his thumb lingering on her cheek. "You're more than just a substitute, Y/n," he said, his voice earnest. "You're a beacon of light in this place, a reminder that strength comes in many forms."

Her heart swelled at his words, and she knew that she had found her place at U.A., not just as a teacher, but as someone who could offer a different kind of guidance to the students, and perhaps, to Aizawa himself. They stood there...
