Work Text:
Emma, in Darcy’s eyes, is perfection. They’ve always thought that. Her smile, her eyes, her personality, they all exude sunshine in a way Darcy has never experienced before. Bright and warm and everything. They have no choice but to chase after her, to bask in her shine.
When they realise their feelings, it scares them because it comes with the possibility of losing that sunshine. In private moments, they like to pretend that she’ll say she feels the same. She wants them like they want her.
But who are they kidding? She could never want them like they want her.
