Work Text:

An uneasy tension was met the second Lambchops walked into the room. Goody, who was sitting nonchalantly on a creaky and uncomfortable school chair, instantly snapped up to look at her, eyes narrowing with murderous intent. The vertically challenged hothead instantly returned the favour, her face somehow twisted into a more violent expression than the one staring into her soul – if she even had one. Their eyes locked, fixated on each other like they were pieces of a puzzle that clicked perfectly into place. It seemed so perfect, yet so wrong. The air seemed to thicken around them as they just stood there staring at each other.

“Goodman.”

“Grace.”

Both students’ faces twisted into a snarl. Lambchops bared her teeth like a wild animal.

“You look rabid.”

“You look stupid.”

“That’s not even a real insult!”

“Is too!”

“No, it’s not.”

“It is ‘cuz I say it is. End of story.”

“You’re getting a bit cocky there, Gracey.”

Lambchops took a step forward.

“Don’t ever call me that again. Or I’ll take the ‘man’ out of ‘Goodman.”

Goody stared at her, his face displaying an expression of utter confusion.

“What the hell does that even mean?”

“I’m gonna rip your balls off idiot.”

“WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT EVEN MEAN????”

“If you’re so ‘good’ you’ll figure it out.”

“Shut up.”

“You shut up.”

“You first.”

“I’ll shut up when you get an A+ on your music theory exam.”

“Oh come on, you know that’s never gonna happen!”

“Fine. I’ll shut up when Schlomo finally confesses to Carmen.”

“Dude!”

“Okay, okay. I’ll shut up when we kiss.”

“WHAT?”

“You heard me. Pucker up Goody-Two-Shoes.”

Lambchops mockingly pressed her lips together, making exaggerated kissy noises at Goody.

“Oh yeah?” Goody challenged, taking a step closer to Lambchops. “Watch me.”

Goody lunged at Lambchops and slammed her face into hers, pressing their lips together in an unmannerly fashion. Lambchops stepped back in surprise, almost losing her balance and falling to the floor. Once she stabilized herself, she glared at Goody with steamed expression.

“Dude.” She growled, “That was awful.”

“Not my fault! I’ve never kissed anyone before!”

“Fine. Let me teach you, dumbass.”

Lambchops slowly leaned in closer, her lips barely grazing Goody’s. The trumpet player’s spine rippled with chills as she took hold of her waist and gently reeled her in, connecting their lips and resting her hands on his hips. The kiss was long and passionate, and felt like the whole world froze around them. Their bodies melted into each other, warm and comfortable.

Once they finally parted, Goody stifled a laugh noticing Lambchops was standing on her tiptoes.

“Shut up.” She hissed, rolling her eyes. “I just gave you the best kiss of your life and this is how you repay me?”

“Sorry, sorry, it was just really funny.”

They stood there, not quite looking at each other.

“You suck at this y’know.”

“Oh hush.”

“How can you be called Goody when you’re so bad at everything?”

“I dunno- HEY! NO I’M NOT! I HAVE TALENT!”

“Keep telling yourself that, Badman.”

“Didn’t you say you would shut up if we kissed?”

“I had my fingers crossed.”

“OH COME ON.”
