Chapter Text

#Dumbledore POV:

Harry Potter was quite an unusual, if not gifted boy brimming with potential. His connection to the Dark Lord just made him more....susceptible to trouble. But regardless, he was loyal to a fault and always tried his best to help. He was a sweet boy, really, but in the end that was all he truly was: a boy caught up in forces beyond his power.

Ah, there he was, excitedly trailing behind his brave friends. That could only mean one thing.
I sighed and made my way up to my office, awaiting the timid yet firm knock I had already heard one too many times over the last few months.

—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In came Harry and his friends, all of them having determined looks on their faces.

“Professor Dumbledore? I just wanted to let you know…….I had a dream yesterday.”
I motioned for him to continue, unintentionally arching an eyebrow.

“Well, you see Headmaster, I saw Voldemort. And there was a boy with him, whom he called his ‘grandson’. The boy seemed quite a bit angry, and was yelling about how Voldemort had no right to use him ‘after shunning his mother’. It looked quite intense, and then they both looked right at me just before the dream ended.”

“It is imperative you tell me more about this, dear boy, for if Voldemort has taken an interest in him, he is surely a wizard with powerful magic running through his veins.” I asked, already thinking of strategies and plans to save the boy from his evil “grandfather”, for there must could not be anything else he'd want from the child.

Merlin knows he’ll need them.

“Well, I mean, he was really tall, and seemed to be around my age and was wearing a hoodie with Manhattan written on it, oh and he had swirling green eyes that seemed to change colour constantly.” replied Harry, already thinking of what to do next and trying hard to distract himself from the thought of those haunting eyes that were too young for the weight they seemed to carry.

I hummed my acknowledgement and sent Harry off, promising to look into it. In all truth however, I felt rather shocked to learn of this boy who managed to survive unnoticed in the Muggle world for so long while also keeping his magic in check.

I sighed, and called for a meeting with Prof.McGonagall, Prof.Snape, Remus Lupin and Sirius. They needed to know about this.

—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I explained the situation, patiently recounting the information shared, wanting to know what they thought of it. Sirius seemed a bit skeptical, voicing his concerns,”I think we should leave the boy be, for if he has reached such an age without any ....mishaps, he may be equipped to handle this alone with his mother. Let them have their peace.”

Minerva McGonagall said,”I agree, but we must at least reach out for once and tell them he has a safe place here, where he can learn of magic and be at least able to defend himself. He seems to be having a quarrel with Voldemort, and that may prove dangerous for him, grandson or not.”
Severus seemed to be deep in thought, saying, ”We must bring him here, for if he is truly You-Know-Who’s grandson, he has powerful blood running through his veins, and we need him on our side.” Remus remained silent, his expression unreadable.

“While I appreciate your concern, Sirius and Minerva, I myself agree with Severus’s ideology.
For as much as it pains me to say this, one less recruit for us, especially one with such connections, is one more for Voldemort. This would help the boy live out the rest of his days peacefully, even if he chooses not to take a stand on the ongoing conflict.” I said thoughtfully. “I myself will go with Sirius and Lupin, to properly explain the stakes of this. I would like to leave you in charge for now, Minerva.”

“I don't like this.”, said Minerva. ”But I understand such is the cost of war: innocent lives forsaken.”

—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After completing the necessary research, for the boy was hidden from our eyes, most likely from the Dark Lord himself, considering the raw power emanating from his shield, the only suspicious kid in the vicinity was a certain Percy Jackson. It seemed he was framed for kidnapping and “wrongfully” deemed a terrorist by the US government a few years ago.

After gathering Remus and Sirius, we left in the dead of night, Apparating ourselves to Manhattan, which was a good 3,450 miles away from Hogwarts.

The next day, we asked around in the local schools, and found nothing. Searching the apartments near Queensboro, there was a strong presence and we decided to follow it silently, with me casting a Disillusionment charm and Sirius putting a Quietus charm.

—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

#Sirius POV

It was a teenaged boy, balancing groceries clumsily in both hands, presumably heading to his apartment, but instead taking a sharp turn right into a dark alley and setting down the groceries.

“What do you want from me? Did Apollo send you? I’ve already told him, I don’t care what he’s saying, I want my gap year-”, he suddenly tensed, and I got a rather strong sense of impending doom.

This is quite the development. What could a teenager do to me that I couldn’t counter in less than a minute?
“Show yourself, I know you have been following me since the market.”, he said in a low voice that screamed danger.

All of us stilled, thinking the same thing: what in Merlin's beard is going on? How did he see or even hear through the charms?
But something about what he said nagged at the back of my mind, though for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what.

“Come on, if you're brave enough to try to follow me home, you're definitely brave enough to show yourselves to me.” he drawled, seeming to positively enjoy our stunned silence now.

—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

#Percy POV:

Ugh. This was already a bad day, I had to kill 2 empousa and a hellhound on the way to the grocery store already.
Honestly, what is it with monsters trying to kill me all the time?
And now there are 3 men following me invisibly, that can't be good. Fed up, I decided to confront them, veering into a dark alleyway first.

—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“What do you want from me? Did Apollo send you? I’ve already told him, I don’t care what he’s saying, I want my gap year-”, I called out, immediately noticing their accelerated heartbeats and lack of response.

If they were truly sent by my cousin they would have outed themselves right now, for his messengers were well-versed with my more volatile nature.

I could practically feel them still, gods I missed the thrill of the chase. Life had been too quiet lately.

“Come on, if you're brave enough to try to follow me home, you're definitely brave enough to show yourselves to me.” I drawled out, hoping they would run so I could have some long deserved fun.

Hey, that rhymed!

“Dear boy, we don't wish to harm you in the slightest. I know you must be scared, but it is quite important we speak about something.” one of them said, the illusion dropping swiftly with a wave of his hand. His words almost made me laugh, like them, harm me?.

He looked really old, but his eyes were sharp, calculating. I didn't like them. They reminded me too much of someone. Someone with eyes that sparkled with intelligence, someone whose gaze was always sharp.
His companions were a curly haired guy and a seemingly young dude, though he was clearly the leader out of all of them.

“Did dad send you then? I told him I’m fine-”
“Um, no one sent us”, the young dude interrupted rather hastily, ”We came here of our own accord. Actually, it would be better if we take this discussion inside.”

“No, really. If you have something to say, say it now.”, I answered, ”Why would I lead a group of creepy men into my house?”
They didn't seem to appreciate the sentiment, almost looking offended.

“Seriously, if you have nothing to say then stop following me.”, I said.
I mean, it isn’t wrong to be concerned about my safety when I live alone and in close proximity to my mom and Estelle.

Sweet Estelle, who loved to trace my scars, who practically worshipped blue cake after someone told her I like it.
Sweet Estelle, whose heartbeat I could feel even thousands of miles away at Camp Jupiter.

“We shall meet again.”, declared the curly haired man grandly, pulling me out of my thoughts as they all shared a loaded glance and disappeared with a loud CRACK!.

Weird.

I went home and almost reached for a drachma to IM her about what just happened but stopped myself just in time. I don't think I could bear to know another one of my Iris Messages had been declined. Putting down the groceries, I yelled out the name of my favourite cousin.
“HERMES! WHERE’S MY COUCH?”

—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

#Unknown POV

Interesting. So the little magicians did follow my lead.
The little hero must be aided, although my influence does not extend far enough into their world to be of much use. Perhaps it is time for me to commune with The Other Chosen One.

Notes:

heyy, hope u like itt<33
