Chapter Text

Gregory groaned as the van juttered and rocked. he'd been abit too keen in dragging his robotic partner into one of the fazbear company vans from the loading dock and driving away into the night, away from all the issues and problems that always followed him that he forgot to refuel and now the problems had finally arrived at his doorstep.

"pull up here" His partner, Freddy, said, a long orange metallic finger with a sharp blue fingernail pointed at an empty carpark. The 10 year old obeyed and pulled in, just as the vehicle jolted one last time and fell silent.

"lets get out and see if anyone can help us" Freddy remarked and opened the van door and stepped out. Gregory tried several times to re-start the vehicle, but to no avail. Annoyed, he slurped on his stolen fazbear coke bottle then heaved his slim body from the seat and followed his partner outside into the cold air.

"Stupid thing" Gregory grumbled and booted the drivers side tire. When he turned to his partner, Freddy was examining a large building in front. 3 quarters the size of the mega pizzaplex, but still a humungus warehouse in it's own right. On top, a billboard advertised "Murray's costume manor" with an illuminated bow tie underneath. On it's metallic door was an imprinted logo "MCM" whilst a signage hung stating "closed".

"it says closed Freddy. No ones in. I'm gonna go explore" Gregory left while Freddy walked forward and pressed the doorbell "The MCM facility is temporarily closed. For deliveries and work inquires, the 'Client and deliveries entrance' is located around the side of the building." the male voice recorder said.

Curiously, Freddy followed the buildings edging to the left, then ,noticing there was no door, went the opposite direction to the right, only then did Freddy abruptly stop midway, noticing a destroyed fazbear company van ,the same one as theirs but burnt out, in the next carpark just beyond theirs, just hidden within the darkness.

"Hey! Freddy! come check this out" Gregory shouted and waved, drawing the robot's attention. The boy was stood beside a large expensive fenced gate, old but very secured with thick padlocks. Beyond it, was a concrete driveway that led up to a large manor house on top of a hill, surrounded by thick trees and foliage. Several lights were on.

"Freddy, if you can throw me over, Ill go knock on their door" Gregory remarked.

Freddy walked over and stood beside the child. It's inner systems processing and calculating the situation, Eventually coming to a conclusion. "I will not do that, Gregory. if something was to go wrong, I cannot be there to save you."

"What? I'm only gonna knock on their door. The lights are on so it's not like it's haunted or anything"

"I dunno" Freddy answered. Being over 6 foot tall that towered over Gregory's measly 4 foot 5, it could see a lot more. It even saw a shadow move against one of the windows. Even being metallic with nothing but a metal machine with codes and wiring, Freddy felt itself shiver. "come on. I don't like the look of that place. The announcer said there was an entrance around the back"

With another disapproving grumble. Gregory followed Freddy to the other side of the carpark where another gate welcomed them. Freddy lifted up the handle and pulled it to the side, allowing the gate to lightly grind open into a mountain of clutter. Rows and rows of wooden planks and crates, cargo containers as well as disused funfair animal rides and an abandoned large swan fountain, located in the centre littered the secondary carpark. They weaved and swerved, even going under makeshift bridges in order to reach the other side.

As the two progressed on wards, they noticed a lone slide just off to one side. They stood in front of the delivery and service door. a miniature stage with display lights on either side of the door and a cartoonish circus banner above with the iconic bow that was a replica from the front entrance. They figured they was in the correct area.

"Well. Here we are" Gregory remarked.
"yes. And you're staying outside" Freddy said
"what? why?"
"Because" Freddy began "i dont like the look of this place, and i doubt the owners would be to happy with both of us turning up. It would be safer if you stay out here while i go in. No ones around out here anyway and I shouldn't be long. we'll keep in contact through your faz-watch. There's that slide you can play with or use the playground area. just try not to damage anything."

The boy gritted his teeth and grumbled, but, chose not to argue, one thing he learnt pretty quickly with his companion was how aggressive and headstrong Freddy could become when it came to protecting children, especially those who are homeless orphans.

Without waiting for an comment. Freddy strolled in, it's heavy feet thudded with each step until the sound vanished behind the closed door. Gregory waited for a bit then got bored and walked over to the slide. it's metal and paint coating rusted but still intact, he tried it over several times but didnt like how the dull metal jarred and jagged against his shorts. He investigated more of the playground but, found it dull with no one else to play with. So, he returned to the slide and seated himself ontop and tapped on his fazwatch.

"Freddy? have you found anyone?"
"no. no one just yet" Freddy answered casually
"oh. whats it like in there?"
"it's...kind of creepy. it's a good thing i left you outside. this place is definitely not suitable for children"
"why? is it full of gory horror and stuff?"
"no. There's nothing of the sort here. just, creepy costumes. who ever the owner is, they really love them...alot"
"costumes? like what superman and batman wear?" Gregory could imagin a large room full of all the marvel and dc heroes and heroines, alongside mascot versions of all the glamrock animatronics.
"not that type, Gregory"
'what type then?' Gregory thought, he was about to question fruther but a cold air blew against his bare chest. making him shiver.
"Freddy. can you hurry up? it's getting really cold out here"
"go warm up in the van. ill let you know if ive found anyone"
"no! I'm staying here" Gregory snapped and crossed his arms.
They fell silent. Through the fazwatch, Gregory could hear Freddy's feet thudding on concrete.
"ah. theres someone up ahead" Freddy said through the watch. "EXCUSE ME! HELLO! SORRY TO INTRUDE BUT I WAS HOPING YOU CAN HELP ME"

Gregory listened in to Freddy's conversation. he thought it was strange how the other party wasn't talking to Freddy but ,judging by his companion's voice, they was walking towards each other.

All of a sudden, There was a loud bang and Freddy started screaming.

Gregory jolted from his spot, crying out Freddy's name as the sounds from his fazwatch echoed the animatronic being attacked, surrounding items being knocked over and a foreign screetching sound from the other party. Eventaully, There was a loud thump and metal scraping across concrete, then the connection from the fazwatch cut out.

Gregory swore loudly. the all too familiar sound he had experienced before. Freddy had lost...again and was now being dragged to an unknown location. He typed furiously onto his fazwatch trying to reconnect to the animatronic. but to no avail.

"guess I've gotta go save him" he groaned, reminiscing of when he first had to go save his friend back in parts and services. dispite the danger in the building. the boy knew he had no choice, Freddy was his only friend, family and protector, plus they still needed fuel and they were miles away from anyone except the manor house.

Sliding off the slide and heading to the entrance to the manor. Gregory cautiously made his way in.
