Chapter Text
“God damn it Ink, what did you do?!” Error growled as Ink awoke with a jolt, being jerked around by his strings and into the ground.
Ink’s left pupil changed into a question mark, he wasn’t anywhere he recognized, and this place seemed long abandoned and not like any AU he’s been to.
“Oh, you look different, did you get new clothes?” Ink quickly changed the topic.
“No, you moron! Are you fucking shallow?!” Error flung Ink into the air with his strings once again, “Look at yourself,” he grumbled, clearly irritated.
Ink was too distracted by being flung around by Error’s strings to actually fully process the situation. He looked around, observing the deteriorating architecture. The sky was a shade of grey-ish blue without any clouds.
“So do you know where we are?” Ink asked, pissing off Error even more.
“Of course not! Are you this stupid or are you just allergic to paying attention?” Error replied, narrowing his eyes. “If I had to guess, not in our multiverse, since it appears neither of us are anything close to what we should look like,” he huffed, still acting childish.
“Aw, come on, stop being so negative, it’s a new place to explore!” Ink slapped Errors back.
“Hey! Don’t touch me!” Error hissed, swiping at Ink.
“Okay, okay, chill,” Ink blinked, his eyes shifting to different shades of blue. He started to fidget with a pencil, getting distracted, again.
Error slapped the pencil out of Ink’s hand. “Can you take this fucking seriously, we’re in the middle of nowhere with no way out!” Error’s right eye twitched in frustration.
“Oh yeah, I forgot,” Ink replied, scratching his head, touching something unfamiliar, he continued to touch it and then realized. “Woah I have ears!” His pupils changed to yellow and blue.
Error slapped his face, “No shit sherlock, come on,” he replied, clearly trying to hold on his anger but somewhat failing. Error used his strings, which were still individually tied to Ink’s arms to drag him.
“You’re no fun,” Ink complained, his pupils now shifted into a red circle and an orange blob.
“Maybe you should stop being intolerable for once,” Error replied, yanking the strings harder as he dragged Ink down into a shortcut.
—————————————
Error was getting more ticked off by Ink’s comments by the minute, he would just point out every little thing, even if it wasn’t significant. Error just wanted a way out, he wanted to go back to the anti-void and relax.
Error was snapped out of his thoughts when he saw a strange worm-like thing, it was yellow and had weird tendrils coming off it. The strange organism also had one eye which was all of its face, if you could even call it that.
It started projecting an arrow with a symbol next to it through its eye. Both Ink and Error looked at the projection, obviously not understanding what in the world it meant.
“I think it’s trying to say something,” commented Ink.
“I hate how you’re probably right,” grumbled Error.
They would’ve continued bickering if it wasn’t for the ominous rumbling that made Error stop in his tracks.
“…That doesn’t sound good,” Ink said, his face looking a bit more anxious.
“You can stop being a smartass now, I’m tired of it,”
Error sighed and realized following the strange worm would probably be their best bet at not getting injured by the earthquake. The choice was made because the creature seemed to get much more frantic when the earthquake started.
“Not so rough!” Ink complained, bumping along the ground as Error ran.
—————————————
The shaking had become much more violent and the ground felt strangely damp, both of them ignored that though. They had gotten to the place the strange worm creature was pointing to.
“If this turns out to be a trap, I’m blaming you,” said Error bluntly.
He didn’t wait for a response from Ink before jumping into the shortcut, ending up in a small box-like place. It closed on them as soon as both of them entered. At least the floor wasn’t soggy, it was dry, like a shelter.
“You can untie me now, Glitchy,” Ink said, “It’s not like I’m going anywhere,”
“Ugh fine, and don’t you fucking call me Glitchy,” growled Error, unraveling the strings on Ink’s arms.
Ink sat against one of the walls and took a green vial and took a sip out of it. He then put the vial back in his stash and wiped his mouth. Ink’s pupils shifted to a greener hue.
“So, do you have any ideas for getting out of here,” Ink inquired, blinking.
“No, if I knew how I would’ve left you here,” Error replied, death staring Ink. “Leave me alone,”
“Oh okay, wait what were we talking about?”
Error chose to ignore Ink for the rest of the time they were in the shelter, focusing on the light vibrations of the earthquake shaking. He was content when Ink finally decided to shut up for once.
The both of them didn’t make a sound for the rest of the time in the shelter, keeping to themselves.
