Chapter Text
Stan stands in front of the door to his brothers house, he was about to talk to Ford for the first time in almost 8 years.
Stanley looked around for a moment before opening the door,
the place was nicely decorated on the outside it had nice green grass and quite a few flowers around too,
it also looks like a child was living there as well due to the kids toys scattered around the lawn
"I wonder who Ford had a kid with" he thought to himself before taking a deep breath "It's okay Stan he's family he won't bite!" he said to himself before knocking on the door,
he thought he had gotten the wrong address for a moment when a tall, blonde haired, and blue eyed guy opened the door
"Stanley Pines?" the strange blonde man asked to which he ignored in favor of asking him if Ford lived here (which he highly doubted)
but to Stanley's surprise he said yes and told Stanley to sit on the couch while he brought Ford over which he begrudgingly did.
"Hey Ford your brothers here!" Fiddleford called from downstairs, Ford walked down the stairs down the stairs with a child in his arms that Stan thought looked kinda like the blonde guy due to the matching shade of blond hair
"Sherman?" Ford asks confused "Stanley" the blonde guy (who's name he really should have asked) for says making Ford go quiet
He turned to look at Stan and his breath hitched the moment he saw him,
Ford slowly set the child he was holding down who immediately looks at Stan with confusion "Who are you?" she asks pointing a small 6 fingered hand at him
"Name's Stanley he greets reaching out to shake her hand "I've heard about you! Your Dad's twin brother!" she says excitedly shaking Stan's hand "My name's Zoe!" she points at herself dramatically, this really is Ford's kid "Nice to meet you Zoe"
The blonde guy also extends a hand for Stanley to shake "I don't think i introduced myself, The name's Fiddleford!" the blonde guy or Fiddleford says, smiling as he shakes Stan's hand "Fiddle-ford?" Stan repeats "This guys got to be kidding" he thinks but no this guy confirms that his name is actually Fiddleford.
"Stanley" "Ford" they stare at each other for a moment neither sure what to say
It was odd, seeing Ford like this, they hadn't seen each other since high school which was before ether of them had...figured out they... weren't girls... It was kind of nice though, to see how much they had both changed since then, but it also made something in Stan's chest tighten thinking about how much of his twin's life that he didn't get to see.
Fiddleford had left with Zoe a while ago, said he and Ford needed to talk alone, they used to be so close as kids but it's been so long since then that they are completely out of sync now
"So...how have you been?" Stanley asks trying to hide his awkwardness (the words "without me" went unsaid but still hung heavy in the air) "Good. How about you?" Ford mumbles awkwardly while fidgeting with his fingers "...Fine..." Stanley says clenching his fist,
The room falls into awkward silence, both unsure of what to say next.
"So... who did you have a kid with" Stanley asks after awhile, Ford stutters a bit at the unexpected question "I- uh I met someone back i-in uh- back in college" he eventually says
"Cool, what was their name?" Stanley leans back on the couch and puts his arms behind his head
"...you know Fiddleford?" Ford stares at the ceiling to avoid eye contact "The strange blond guy you apparently live with?" "yeah..." "What about him- wait..." Stan's eyes widen when he realizes and Ford looks down at the ground
"No way-" Stan sits up "You- HIM!? he looks like the type of person who would've smoked weed back then!?"
"Listen alright! maybe he did smoke weed so what!" Ford brings his knees to his chest,
Stan raises his hands up "Sorry didn't mean to insult your boyfriend or whatever jeez" Stan puts his arms down and leans in closer to Ford slightly "I do wanna know though how a guy like you and a guy like him got together"
Ford begrudgingly tells Stan all about Fiddleford and his time at Backupsmore University (leaving out a couple of details for privacy's sake) and how they had eventually got together and had Zoe
It was nice Stan had thought, to talk to Ford again after all these years
and although there are definitely still some things they needed to talk about for now they would be okay
it would all be okay
