Chapter Text
The feeling of waves lapping at your feet, along with a high pitched voice, woke you from your unconsciousness. As your eyes opened you looked across a small stretch of water to see another, blonde with amber eyes, talking to a flying... pixie? The blonde was busy drawing in the sand, not noticing you just across the water.
A sharp pain hit your skull as you immediately laid your head back down. What was that? Your hand went to your head, coming back wet and bloody. You finally looked down, realizing you were completely soaked. How'd you get here? When you tried to remember, it came back blank.
You looked up from where you layed, the rock face of a cliff meeting your gaze. The sun was about to fall over the edge, the beam of light slowly trailing up your body. Maybe you fell? It would explain the memory loss. But, was that something moving up there?
"So... what you're trying to say is that you fell here from another world?" The fog clouding your mind cleared slightly at the Pixies words. Another world? Who were these people... and, or pixies..? "But when you wanted to leave and go onto the next world your path was blocked, by some unknown god?"
The blonde then told a story about her and her brother being separated forcefully with red and black cubes by an unknown God. It sounded like bullshit to you but the genuine emotion in her voice made you falter.
"And just like that, the God took away my brother. Some kind of seal was cast upon me, and I lost my power. So whilst we used to cross world after world, we are now trapped here." She paused, looking at the drawing of the God she made in the sand.
"How many years ago was it? I don't know..." She then clenched her fist. "But I intend to find out."
"So, Paimon will do Paimon's best to be a great guide!" You could here the pixies excitement at the thought of helping this lost traveler find her brother.
"What?" You said, just audible. The sound passed the blonde but was immediately picked up by the pixie.
"Traveler, Traveler, look!" The pixie squealed and you could feel the finger pointing at you. "I think that girl is injured!"
The sound of fast footsteps glided over the water. Only one set, you noted to yourself. The pixie must be flying still. You closed your eyes when light finally broke over the cliff to reach you. To the pixie and blonde, you looked dead. Really dead. Blood was under your head, matting your hair and sticking the sand together. But you noticed it wasn't bleeding anymore, it had closed by itself.
"She's still breathing." That was a deeper voice, maybe the blondes? "Paimon can you tell if she will make it? Your the one that's flying so you must have some kind of knowledge on this."
You didn't hear anything as the pixie, you now confirmed was named Paimon, flew up to you. You then felt a poke on your cheek, then your forehead, then your chest. It was getting annoying. All they needed to do was check a pulse.
You slowly opened your eyes, causing the now close up Paimon to fly back with a cry of suprise. To prove you were even more alive you desided to move. You groaned as you sat up, holding your pounding head as you looked up at the blonde.
"Traveler it's alive!" Paimon dissappeared behind the blonde, who now had a sword somehow? Why point a sword at someone already injured? Rude.
"Yes I'm alive." You snapped, why was Paimon hiding? It wasn't like you could do anything while barely keeping consciousness. "What do you want?"
"We wanted to help you, but obviously you don't need it if your going to be a bitch." The blonde snapped back, surprising you and Paimon.
You looked at the two companions in disbelief. How dare they be rude to the... the... what? What were you? Something important? Your brows furrowed as another throb captured your skull. How was this interaction going to go if you didn't remember anything?
The blonde began to head the opposite direction from you, her sword disappearing at her side. Was she good at fighting? That would be bad. There's a small path if you go around the cliff, you wouldn't make it far though. Maybe climbing? Your head hurt too much. If she attacked, you'd be toast.
"Wait." You called when the blonde turned away. She couldn't just leave you, could she?
She paused, but didn't turn around. It was a signal to keep talking. You sucked in your pride, looking at the back of her head as the world spun.
"Can you help me? Get to..." Your mind blanked. Where did you need to go? You stared off as you tried to remember, the stare catching Paimon's gaze.
"Uhhh, Traveler..? I don't think she's doing very good." Paimon said, noticing how you couldn't remember a thing.
The Traveler approached you after turning back, crouching next to you and grabbing your chin gently. Much to your displeasure she cocked your head to the side to look at your head. She looked at your injured head, softly bringing her fingers up before you pushed her away. She did not need to touch it. The gash hurt enough already.
"What do you think your doing?" You glared, holding your head protectively.
"You hit your temporal lobe. What's your name, and where do you live?" She ignored your protest from before, asking simple questions anyone should be able to answer.
"Why would I tell you that? I just met- shit." You cut yourself off, realizing you couldn't answer those questions. "I... I don't know."
The Traveler and Paimon exchanged worried glances, silently communicating. From what you could see it was them debating helping you or leaving you to die. You didn't like the second option.
"So... what are we gonna call you?" The Traveler sat infront of you, her legs crossed. "Not something weird. Like a real name."
"Funny you think I can remember any names right now."
"Don't be an ass and give me some ideas." The Traveler glared at you, forcing you into submission.
"I don't know. You choose."
"How about Dumbass? Seems like a good fit for right now." You were not amused but didn't comment on it.
"Hey, ol' mighty guide, can we get moving? This place gives me the creeps." You tried to distract the Traveler by using their companion against them.
"Oh yes! There's a path over there! Maybe we'll find your brother!" Paimon excitedly pointed. The squeal in the pixies voice didn't help the headache racking your brain.
The Traveler sighed, but helped you up. She said something about talking about names later as you stumbled after the flying Paimon. God was this weird. Waking up with no memories only to follow after a person you don't know? As you climbed the slope of the path you soon came to a halt, there was small lift of rock blocking the way.
"The path ends here — guess we'll just have to climb."
Climbing wasn't a struggle, usually. When the world is spinning it was a little rougher. The Traveler had to help you find the right footholds but eventually you made it. The path lead forward, a sunsettia tree and waterfall on your left. The area was beautiful and strangely familiar even if you couldn't tell why.
"Okay, let's take the route I planned!" Paimon said excitedly, floating next to the Taveler. "We're off to... a Statue of The Seven!" Paimon spun in a circle, playing with her rose gold crown.
Paimon then looked over at the Traveler. "Which of The Seven are you looking for exactly?" The Traveler didn't get to respond before Paimon teleported ahead to look out at a view.
You and the Traveler exchanged a glance of amusement before following the pixie to the edge. There were cliffs all around you with an opening to reveal a large plain. There was a lake with a small island in the center of it. On the island was a statue, which from Paimons earlier words you guessed was a Statue of The Seven.
Beyond that you could see large stone brick walls towered high surrounding a city with many windmills. It gave you a strange sense of deja-vu. It seemed so familiar but so distant. Maybe that's where you lived? Paimon then pointed to the statue you had seen just moments ago.
"That's a Statue of The Seven! There are a few of these scattered across the land to show The Seven's protection over the world." She explained to the Traveler.
"Among the gods this one controls the wind. Paimon's not sure whether the God your looking for is the Anemo God, but..." Paimon glanced over at the statue. "Paimon will take you to the Anemo God's place first, and there's a reason why~"
