A desperate call was made and was answered by someone who should have been unable to receive it. The summoning system was designed to fight the Beasts, the Evils of Humanity, so one should never have appeared in answer to a call, but she did. It was impossible for the system to manifest her so she shut it down and used her independent manifestation to forcefully summon herself. An impossible answer to an impossible wish, and yet...
Within the summoning room I arranged the saint quartz, little bundles of crystalized mana, like always, and in the process my mind began to drift, thinking back to the Spiral Proof World of Lilim Harlot, and the young Beast I befriended within, Draco. The ritual started and the lights of the summoning array burst to life just as always, but partway through my mind wandered, for just a moment, as I made a single wish. "I wish I could see her again." The moment that forbidden wish crossed my mind the lights of the ritual disappeared as the sounds of the system shutting down were heard. Then a vortex of magical energy appeared in the middle of the room and below it the symbol of The Beasts spread out to completely cover the summoning array as the normally blue lights became a blood red. The vortex burst in a way that looked similar to a fountain of blood erupting, blocking my vision. When it cleared there she stood, looking just as she did when we first met, in her red dress, her blond hair tightly bound underneath her crown, a draconian tail poking out from behind her, and in her hands, a grail. A pulse of magical energy burst forth like a single beat of a heart, and then the system fell quiet, the ritual complete.
As soon as she saw me a smirk split her face and she spoke "My name is Draco. Sodom's Beast, Draco.
Umu... Yes, that's right.
My class is ――― Beast.
Fufu... Hahahahahaha! What an amusing blunder!
You just pulled an unbelievable jackpot!"
I was too stunned to speak, so I just stood there looking at her in silence. The longer we stood there, the more uncomfortable she seemed to get, until she brought her hand up to her mouth to fake a cough in an attempt to drive off her embarrassment before speaking again "I assume you have arranged the proper tribute for one such as myself."
I tilted my head in confusion as I finally found my voice "What... do you want as tribute?" My voice shaky and my mouth dry as I imagined all manner of unspeakable things a Beast could want as tribute.
She looked incensed at my question and stamped her foot in a manner reminiscent of a child throwing a temper tantrum and shouted out "Candy, I want that candy you shared with me inside the Spiral Proof World, you promised if we saw each other again I could have more."
I brought my fist to my mouth in an unsuccessful attempt to contain my laughter, my shoulders shaking with the strain. She looked embarrassed as she realized what she had done, and it was then that I knew for certain. This wasn't just any Beast- this was my friend, the one I had battled alongside and grew to care about from within that world.
After my laughing fit had subsided, I reached my hand out to her palm up, and spoke with a gentle smile on my face "Come on, I'll take you to the cafeteria and have Emiya make you all the candy you can eat."
A bright smile broke across her face as she took my outstretched hand "Umu, that is more like it." And we walked out of the summoning room, together.
