Keep Your Frenemies Closer

Summary:

Two high schoolers who live very different lives are brought together by a local tragedy- the accidental death (or was it accidental) of another high schooler from their grade whom one was very close to, the other- hardly knew them. Ally who is very much wrapped up in her own life finds herself involved in a secret and unexpectedly dangerous investigation. Romance? Murder? Comedy? I hope so.

This is just an original story that I've been working on, and right now I'd like to get feedback from others about it just to see if I'm hitting all the right vibes and whatnot that I'm trying to convey in this. So what better way to do that then post it for those who may be interested in the murder mystery/teenage romance/ comedy drama?

Notes:

Once again these characters and the plot is all just my original work and I'd love feedback on characters, the story or any thoughts/things you may have liked about it! The chapters may feel a little spaced or like there was time skipped because I don't have every scene written so maybe just consider these one shots of this story unless I say otherwise.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

The sound of waves lapped gently in the dark- with the moon casting a warm glow out onto the waters the sight was almost peaceful. Almost.

Even with the slow rhythmic motions of the waves and the stars twinkling among an ink black night, the ocean called out with an ominous song, less like it was a sea and more of a wide expanse of black that for all anyones eyes could see- may just run miles deep into the depths of where ever it is the ocean leads. The calm was broken, the waters began to stir, waves starting to crash in against the rocks not sparing any of its previous gentleness, white foam spraying up onto the grassy cliffs that stood just above the water's edge.

Millions of feet had tracked over that grass, a local diving point specifically for thrill seekers feeling brave, or a midnight meetup for lovers confident enough to risk getting caught. Tonight it was neither. Tonight the cliff was cold and barren, its grass tainted with betrayal and its waters running red with blood.

A single pair of boots escaping down its rocky cliff side, somewhere deep below- a body began to sink.
