After Tennis basically duped her out of immunity she was stuck down at the earth’s core with a flag that had no use anymore. She was practically fuming when she heard someone’s voice from up there, it was Book.
” Needle! Don’t worry, I'll get you out of there!” Needle smiled. ” I appreciate the sentiment but how are you going to do that?” She shouted.
There was a slight pause before she got an answer ” Uh, I dunno? Maybe I can get a rope!” Book suggested.
” That’s an idea… But won’t the rope just burn when you throw it down?” Needle asked.
” It’s worth a shot. Hang in there Needle!” Book shouted before she left.
Needle sat down but it was really uncomfortable so she stood up again. She looked at her flag which Leafy dropped earlier. Needle jumped off the earth’s core onto the stone below to retrieve it. ” Wait, I could just use this to climb back up again!” She said to herself.
She stabbed it into the stone surface around her and she started climbing. And soon enough she was back on the earth’s surface again.
” Now I just need to get back on that bridge…” she mumbled to herself
Then she saw a rope fall down. ” Bingo!” Needle cheered and then she resumed climbing and then she was back on the bridge!
” Wow I didn’t think that rope thing would actually work!” Book said, Needle was going to correct her but she decided against it. ” Yea! And it was also great exercise for me too.” She said.
Book laughed a little, ” Say, where’s everyone else?” Needle asked. ” Oh, I don’t actually know.” Book responded. Needle looked up at the sky, the sunlight was dying and the moon was soon gonna take its place.
“ Thanks for helping me by the way.” Needle said, still looking at the sky. “ No problem! That’s what friends do anyway.” Book said. Needle smiled, “Yeah, friends.”
They both stayed silent for a bit as Needle’s smile flipped into a frown. “ It’s a shame one of us is gonna get out soon…” Needle said. “ Hey, we don’t know that for sure. Who knows? It might be Coiny!”
“…”
“Well, it probably isn’t but one can only hope.” Book continued.
”Well, even if I get out I’ve enjoyed my time here. I’d say I’m much more independent and self reliant than I was before.” Needle said, her smile returning.
” I also enjoyed the time I spent here with you.” She continued, she looked at Book this time.
” Aw, Needle, that's so sweet!” Book said and gave her a hug, and then Needle hugged her back.
