Chapter 1: The Warrior Code

Chapter Text

The Warrior Code

Defend your Clan, even at the cost of your own life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan.

Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.

Prey is killed only to be eaten. Respect and give thanks for its life.

Elders, kits, and queens must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless given permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.

A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.

At ten moons old, every apprentice must chose the Clan they would like to finish their apprenticeship in. This shall take place at the beginning of a gathering. Once they have chosen their new Clan, they must stay loyal to it no matter what.

A gathering is held every new moon, when the stars shine brightest. There shall be no fighting among the Clans at this time.

The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.

A retired leader will be stripped of their remaining lives eight lives.

After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.

Medicine-cats may take on mates but are not allowed to try for kits.

No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan or no Clan at all.

No cat loyal to the warrior code shall kill other cats for any reason besides being necessary for self-defense or the good of the Clans.
