It was the dead of night, everyone was asleep, everyone except for “Guest. He couldn’t sleep, courtesy of his nightmares from the war. After hours of tossing and turning in his bed and trying to fall asleep, he got up, slipped on some shoes, and stepped out of his cabin. Perhaps a small walk and some fresh air could help clear up his mind, maybe. Guest didn’t bother locking his cabin door, it was around midnight. Who’d want something from him at this time?
Guest exhaled deeply as he started walking the path through the woods. These nightmares were killing him, it was draining. Everything has been draining lately. He also misses his wife and daughter, they were the only things that kept him going, and they lessened the nightmares. His daughter unknowingly helped, and his wife, however, did everything that she could to make him feel comfortable, and it worked. Now, here in this hellhole, nothing was helping him.
A twig snapping in the distance made his head snap up towards the noise. In the distance, Guest saw 226w6. Guest didn’t know much about the other man, other than the fact that 226 died of an illness when his daughter, PrettyPrincess, was very young. The poor child doesn’t even recognize the man as her father. Guest felt bad for the man in that regard. It wasn’t a secret that 6w6 was shy, the man rarely ever spoke, and he was never at get-togethers at the main cabin unless it was when the adults were drinking. Then he’s there watching over everyone and making sure nothing fatal happens, alone with Jane Doe, although Jane is mainly there for her husband John.
226 muttered something under his breath as he continued to walk. Guest stared as the other started walking away before inhaling deeply and calling out his name. 226w6 turned around in what seemed like mild shock before walking towards Guest.
“Guest? What are you doing out here this late?” 226 questioned, a hint of worry in his voice. “I could say the same about you. What happened? Couldn’t sleep?” 226 seemed to think about that question before nodding and slowly saying, “.. Yeah.. I guess I have a hard time sleeping sometimes.” “What do you mean you guess?”
226 silently cursed himself. “I mean, I do have a hard time sleeping, sorry, can’t uh.. Think straight right now.." Guest’s eyes softened a little as he chuckled, “Yeah, me too. Nightmares have been eating up at me.” 226 hummed in understanding. “Perhaps, if you’d like, you could come walk with me? It might help take your mind off things.” “Oh, uh, sure! Thanks, 226.”
The two men were walking in silence, neither of them knowing what to say. It was a full moon out, so 226 felt like he didn’t need to bring a flashlight, he certainly didn’t expect to run into Guest.
Guest looked up at the taller man, “What’s up with the hat?” 226w6 hummed, “I just like the hat, something wrong with it? Is it dirty? …It shouldn't be, I've just cleaned it.”
“Oh-! No, nothing’s wrong with it! And it certainly isn't dirty, I’m just curious about it, I don't think I’ve ever seen you with it off.” “Ah, yeah.. I don't like taking it off, it makes my head feel.. Naked, if that makes sense?” Guest chuckled, “It makes perfect sense.”

Guest woke up in his cabin, dazed and confused. A couple of things were weird, he didn't remember going to his cabin and going to sleep, and he didn't have any nightmares. Huh, maybe that walk with 2w6 did help.. He should do that with him more often now..
Guest noticed a sticky note on his nightstand, which read in neat handwriting, “You fell asleep when we were resting on a bench, took you back to your cabin. - 226w6” Guest smiled, perhaps he should get to know 226 more, he seems.. Nice.
