Work Text:

Jongho had a free day, a rare occurrence with how many schedules had fallen upon him and the rest of Ateez. He'd already gone to the gym, as well as the convenience store that was only his route there.

Now he was home, unsure of what to do. The task paralysis had hit him as soon as he'd sat in his bedroom, and now it was like he couldn't move from his spot, minus the occasional shuffling.

It got to the point where he'd laid down, staring at the ceiling, trying to fight his body into moving when his phone dinged.

Yunho <3: do you want to come over and sit in my blanket fort?

Jongho looked at the message confused, but he didn’t have much else to do with his day, and needed something to get him out of his current state.

Jongho: sure, i’ll be there in 10

He'd already showered and changed into a plain black t-shirt as well as some black, distressed jeans with small, slight rips in the knees.

The dorms weren't far apart, separated by short paths that you could barely see the main road from. It gave them all a nice sense of security, being slightly secluded.

He grabbed his keys before taking the lift down. Wooyoung and Hongjoong were out, so he sent them a text to let them know where he was going, just in case either of the two wanted to know where he was. It was a bit of a ritual between different dorms, and had been for years.

Jongho quickly double-text Yunho to say he was on his way, just to give him a heads up.

It only took a few minutes to get to the door to the apartment, buzzing the number for Yunho and Yeosang's dorm. He was glad it wasn't raining, not that it had rained too much recently due to the summer heat. If he got lucky, he'd wake up or be falling asleep as it hit in the night, but that hadn't been something he'd got to enjoy recently.

He heard the beep and the click of the door, swinging it open before walking over to the lift. It went straight up, not that it was common to run into other people round the separate buildings.

The doors slid open, letting him walk out and down the hallway to Yunho's dorm before lightly knocking at the door. Luckily, Yunho must've stood at the door, waiting for Jongho to arrive, as he opened the door within less than a second of Jongho knocking.

“Hey,” Jongho could see how red he'd gone, presumably from realising how eager he looked. It made him giggle, finding it endearing. “Come innn,” Yunho dragged his voice out, spinning slightly and gesturing to his room. Jongho followed him, even though he knew where he was going without it.

“So, I did get some soft pajamas, and you know how cold my room gets! I also have snacks, I have the laptop ready to go, blankets, pillows, I have everything!” Yunho gleefully ranted about the little set up he had made, before pausing Jongho from entering into his room. He heard Yunho grabbing some stuff from his room, presumably the pajamas that he'd just mentioned.

“I need to get changed into mine, but you can go use the bathroom if you'd like.” Jongho nodded, doing a 180° and heading straight towards it. He didn't know where Yunho got them from, but he saw the Sanrio label on the outside of the package, which gave him a slight idea. He opened it and unfolded them, a button up shirt and trousers, both matching in a light brown colour with white stripes, as well as multiple Tiny Chum's on the fabric, as well as one embroidered onto the pocket that was on the left of it.

He got changed before folding up the jeans and shirt he'd walked over in, walking down to Yunho's room after. He knocked again, hearing a faint ‘come in’ through the door.

He opened it, the blanket fort being visible as soon as he walked through. Yunho had a mid sleeper, so he'd clearly shoved some of the blanket through the railing and underneath the mattress. He'd propped up one side with some clothing hooks to his desk chair, as well as another, presumably from the dorms kitchen.

Yunho popped the blanket open on one side, letting Jongho climb in. He could see the lack of bedding that had stayed on the bed, which he could see set up on the floor.

There was Yunho's duvet laid out on the floor, some pillows set up around the edge of it as well as a few blankets. His room had amazing air-conditioning, it made Jongho feel like he was stood outside in the middle of winter, but he was grateful for it, it being the reason they could stay under the blankets.

He sat down next to Yunho, who was currently fiddling with the laptop, the tray had been left to the side of the duvet for now.

“What do you want to watch?” Yunho suddenly spoke up.

“I don't mind, have you got anything?” He knew the question was closer to rhetorical than anything, with Yunho fixating on media more often than not.

He thought for a moment, still scrolling through homepages of different streaming sites.

Jongho watched his eyes light up, before quickly typing Spider-Man into the search bar.

“I haven't shown you The Amazing Spider-Mans yet,” he paused, looking a little confused as he turned to Jongho, “have I?”

“No, I don't think so…” Jongho watched as he spun back round to his laptop, in reality he wasn't 100% sure, Yunho had told him so much about all of the Spider-Man films, but some of the titles were lost on him. He knew the newer ones, but the older films were where he got a bit lost.

He watched Yunho click onto the film, instantly pausing as he maneuvered around Jongho, laptop in hand, before placing it on the tray.

“Do you want to lay down? We'll have to turn it off if we start to fall asleep so it doesn't overheat, but otherwise I think it'd be more comfortable.” Jongho nodded in reply to him, laying down where he'd been sat before getting one of the blankets over him, as well as grabbing one of the plushies that had been put near the pillows.

Yunho slid his arm under Jongho's neck, before leaning over him to start the film. Jongho felt him lay down behind him, before one of his arms slowly fell over him.

They stayed like that while watching the film, occasionally munching on the snacks scattered around them, as well as occasionally finding each other's hands, holding each other's or one holding the other's fingers.

The film ended, they stayed looking at the credits rolling until Jongho paused it.

“Do you want to get some sleep?” Yunho mumbled against his neck, the tiredness in his voice being obvious to Jongho.

Jongho hummed, turning around to face him. Yunho shuffled to lay on his back, letting Jongho cuddle into him. It wasn't exactly common that they fell asleep like this, but it wasn’t an issue to either of them.

“Thank you, Yunho. This was cute.” Jongho almost whispered, clearly starting to grow tired, Yunho was running his fingers up and down his back which wasn't helping.

Yunho didn't reply, opting to leave a soft kiss on his forehead instead, before going back to resting his arm back around Jongho. They slept well that night.
