Work Text:
Rose lay in the hospital bed, her eyes wide and nervous. “Will you be here when I wake up?”
Dorothy, standing over her and holding her hand tightly, gave a firm nod. “I promise I will. Everything’s going to be okay. You’ll be fine, and I’ll be right here waiting when it’s over.”
Rose’s lips curved into a faint smile. “I love you, Dorothy.”
Dorothy’s expression softened. She bent down, pressing a gentle kiss to Rose’s forehead. “I love you, Rose,” she whispered, lingering close. “And I promise to be here when you wake up.”
Rose closed her eyes, comforted.
