Ness realized that if he ever said that he and Kaiser are dating, no one will believe him. Not even himself. Even when they are finally become a thing, Kaiser still called him with “Ness”, not Alexis. He knew that no normal person in relationship ever called their significant others by their surname, but this is Kaiser, his Kaiser. The one who went stiff everytime Ness tried to wrapped his arms around him. But unlike before, Kaiser’s answer to his physical affection is a seemingly resigned silence, not even pushing him away. That alone is enough for Ness.
No one will believe that they are dating, since every time they are together—when others are around—they are still acting casual with each other, practicing and discussing about soccer’s strategies. But when they are alone, Kaiser will always put his hand on Ness magenta’s hair, he will take a while to explore each lock with his fingers, feeling its softness. Then Ness will pull him into a hug as he exclaimed praises to the blonde.
Kaiser was never good with words, but his actions speak the loudest and that is one thing that makes Ness fall over him, over, and over again.
Since they are dating, he will ocassionaly hold his hand and squeeze it with a gentleness that Ness himself just discovered. There was also a time when he was half awake from his bad dreams, he could feel the smoothness of a fabric, a blanket. Then he could feel eyes on him, like watching him intently, silently. While a hand is caressing his cheek as if to calm him down.
But as soon as he was completely awake, Kaiser quickly pulled out the hand that caressed Ness's cheek, he looked at him with his usual grumpy expression, “I was about to wake you up since you were noisy in your sleep like an idiot, you’re bothering me.”
He might look bothered but at that night, he stayed in Ness’s bed without words, waiting for him to fall asleep again as he murmured his name in a gentler tone, “Sleep, Alexis.”
No one will believe him if he ever said that since they were dating, there was also a time that Kaiser lashed out on him again—which is nothing unusual—and it hurted Ness so much that he couldn’t hold back his tears. As tears fall from his eyes, he could see the widened blue eyes staring at him in disbelief, the blonde's body shook in anger but his gaze feels like sadness for some reason.
The next thing Ness knew, Kaiser quickly stormed off from their room with his sleeveless Bastard Munchen’s jersey, as if trying to both calm and punish himself in the snow’s coldness. He just stared at the sky with his back facing Ness’s view.
After that, Ness quickly covered himself with his winter attire, approaching the taller male. He couldn’t let Kaiser all alone in the cold, even when awkwardness filled the air as soon as hes right beside Kaiser.
In order to break the awkwardness, Ness just decided to build a lump of snow, seemingly to build a snowman which makes Kaiser scoffed, “So childish.”
Kaiser started to walked back inside the dorm. Ness didn’t mind it much, thinking that Kaiser probably need an alone time like he usually did every time he lashed out. He continued to poured his creativity into the lump of snow until it slowly formed into an ice dragon.
The ice dragon reminded himself of Kaiser, his seemingly cold and nonchalant boyfriend, but is actually a completely clueless one when it comes to love and romance. Ness smiled as he patted the dragon’s wing softly.
It was only him and the ice dragon until he feels something warm in his cheek. He quickly turned around and found Kaiser sticking one of his bread rusks to his cheek, his eyes darted anywhere else but Ness.
“Eat up, don’t make me change my mind to not going soft on you.” He said curtly but with a hint of something like softness and apology.
Kaiser was not the type to directly said an apology, but Ness didn’t mind, he’s willing to stay by Kaiser’s side until he’s ready to said one, no. Even if he will never say one, Ness will stay by his side forever, making sure Kaiser can never escape him.
At that time, Ness accepted the bread rusk, ate them silently as they stand together closely with the ice dragon.
“It’s not like...I was mad at you.”
There was a pause. Ness was about to told Kaiser that he didn’t mind it since he was used to it. But he was then cut off by a single quiet word uttered by the blonde, “Sorry…”
No one believed they dated each other since they didn’t know a thing about Kaiser like Ness did. About the hidden secrets that only they shared with each other in silence.
