Anthy closed the door to the empty dorm for the last time, her suitcase light but her heart certain, carrying only what mattered and the quiet conviction that Utena was still out there.
“We deserve a soft epilogue, my love,” she whispered to the wind; one with gentle moments and shared laughter, not the finality of locked towers or the cruelty of the dueling arena, but mornings lit by ordinary sunlight and nights without the shadow of swords, where they could drink tea slowly and let the world be just a little kind.
And so she stepped beyond the academy gates into the bright, unending road ahead, every footfall a promise that she would find her, each step both a promise and a question, a reaching toward something she didn’t yet know how to name, but Anthy thought of Utena’s stubborn, impossible kindness, how it had rewritten her ... and knew that somewhere, past city streets and country roads and all the unnamed spaces between, Utena was still waiting for her.
