Chapter Text
Space, The Final Frontier. Technically speaking a false statement, given the semi-routine existence of travel across time and experimentations with higher dimensions. But still a deeply inspiring statement across all species. A plane above the soils of planets, the infinite expanse of the cosmos, a truly incomprehensibly vast amount of nothing but emptiness, with small glowing islands in the void.
So how exactly do you get around it? Space travel can be said to be more of a challenge than any other hurdle a species can encounter, at least at a level practical for more than rumbling around their home system. The most common method is undeniably the warp drive, but far more methods can be the key to penetrating the abyss. In fact there are a number of species who, for whatever reason, simply never developed the ability to bend the fabric of space to their whims.
This document should hopefully, through the many species who have boldly chosen to look at the stars and chose to meet them, explore the development of these technologies, the ones that allow the galaxy which we occupy to keep on ticking. For legal reasons, all information in this document is sourced to publicly available documents declassified by the Department Of Temporal Investigations and the Federation Starfleet.
