The morning sun filled the room with flecks of sunshine as it filled my eyelids with brightness. I turned around from my position in the bed to check the clock. Before I even had a chance to move, Aaron wrapped a firm arm around me and pulled me back.
“Aaron!” I laughed, “it’s time to get up, I need to meet with the others.”
“Those idiots can wait, love; and it’s too early.”
I smiled against his bare chest. “It’s almost noon!” I said. “You have never slept till noon, Aaron.”
He replied to me with a hint of humor in his tone. “Well, it’s always good to try new things.”
At that I let out a small laugh. “Ok, well maybe I can postpone it.”
The second I said it, he pulled me closer to his chest, and I let out a successful grin. I planted a kiss on his chest and slowly made my way up until I reached his face. He looked at me with desire in his eyes, lips slightly parted and blond hair sitting messily on his head — he looked beautiful. He cupped my face in his hand and caressed my cheek, his knuckles slowly grazing my jaw.
“I love you,” he told me, his voice raw. “I love, love, love you and forever will.”
I smiled as redness swept up to my cheeks. I couldn’t take it anymore, the wanting was killing me. I reached up to his hair and pulled him against me as I kissed him. His hand immediately reached up to my neck as he kissed me more. It tasted like forbidden love and sweet dreams. He continued the kisses to my jaw, trailing down to my stomach, and then he abruptly stopped.
He delicately placed a hand on my stomach, then slowly looked up at me, tears filling up his eyes. I smiled, knowing that he knew.
“When?” he asked me.
“A week ago, I was meaning to tell you but I didn’t know when to te—”
He cut me off with a hug, and his tears slid down to my back. “We’re going to have a baby,” he croaked.
“I know,” I replied, tears filling my own eyes. “I still can’t believe it myself.”
“I’m going to be a father.”
“The best,” I answered back, still hugging him tightly.
Suddenly he stopped to look back at me. He placed his hand on my shoulders.
“I am never going to let you out of my sight.” His face was serious, and I couldn’t help but smile. “I love you, Aaron, and I always will, and I know that you will be the best dad our kid could ever have.”
He smiled and pulled me back to bed.
“Hey!” I said while laughing. “That doesn’t mean I get to stay in bed.”
He pulled me back into his chest, and after that I stopped protesting. I closed my eyes and steadied my breathing as he wrapped his arms around me and dropped his head behind my neck.
The morning passed almost seamlessly as we cuddled, and I didn’t care since I was with Aaron.
