the summer, a season of rest and vacation, a break if you would call it that. no one ever does much during the summer, especially not anything productive. many people return to school and or work after the summer in a far worse state than they left in, physically and mentally. especially physically.
haruka has never seen other people who still run every day during this season of vacation, most of her school friends take every moment possible to be lazy. running alone felt boring, but as the great idol she had to be, she continued.
well, that was until she saw too boys from kamiyama preparing to race each other down the streets, she could have sworn that she had seen one of them running before. it was tsukasa tenma and akito shinonome, ready to put their all into the race for the sake of competitiveness.
that was before tsukasa saw haruka watching. he had always wanted another friend to practice with as akito didn’t always follow whatever he did. the two of them walked towards each other, leaving akito behind for just a moment before he met with them.
“so, do you also run!!?” tsukasa asked haruka in a loud voice, making akito sigh and try to hide shut him up. he just wanted to beat tsukasa in a race and leave.
“i sure do.” she responded with a smile, her signature one which she used in more more jump livestreams. it made both of the boys smile back. though, they were obviously more interested in seeing her run.
after a few minutes of convincing haruka to run with them, the three lined up ready to take off while an shiraishi, one of akito’s friends and tsukasa’s school friend gave the signal to start the race. she ran on the side along with them, making sure that akito didn’t try to cheat.
the race finished and everyone let out a breath, the three of them somehow managed a tie with an keeping up throughout the race.
“how did we tie?!” akito spoke out with an annoyed tone. he demanded a rematch, just wanting to have a better time than tsukasa.
