Chapter Text

Saturday, March 31st, 1977.
Dear Professor Dumbledore, we accept the fact that we had to spend a whole Saturday in detention, for what we did wrong. But we think you are insane for making us write this essay telling you who we think we are. Why do you even care anyways? You see us how you want to see us. In the simplest terms, you see us as a brain, a princess, an athlete, a basket case, and a criminal. Is that right? Well that's how we all saw each other at 6:30 this morning…

Emmeline got out of the car and slammed the door, she smoothed out her skirt and clutched her purse. Her father rolled down the car window and she turned to face him.

“I seriously can't believe you're making me do this! I mean it's insane- having to be here on a saturday.”

“Well I'm sorry darling but there's nothing I could do, but ill make it up to you somehow.”

Emmeline rolled her eyes and walked into the school building. Her father drove away.

“Is this the first or last time we do this?”

Hestia's mother stared at her, her gaze full of disappointment. Hestia looked down, not making eye contact with her mother.

“The last.”

Hestia's mother seemed satisfied with that answer. “Now get out and make good use of the time.”

“But–" there was no use arguing with Mrs Jones so Hestia grabbed her bag, got out of the car, and walked into the school building.

James and his father were standing in front of the school building. Mr Potter put a hand on James' shoulder.

“Guys mess around, I messed around when I was in school and there's nothing wrong with that- but you got caught. And no university is going to give a scholarship to a delinquent.”

James looked up at him.

“I know. I'm sorry. I'll do better, I promise.”

Mr. Potter smiled at him, but it wasn't a kind one. “I know you will.” When his back turned, James shamefully walked into the school building.

Barty walked across the road, lighting a cigarette. A car coming towards him, but he did not stop walking. The car slammed its brakes barely missing hitting him. A girl dressed in all black got out of the car. The two of them made eye contact but she quickly walked into the school building. Barty followed shortly after.
